In light of that one user that shall not be named, I find it important that I make one thing absolutely fucking clear.
MAPs or whatever labels those people are going by have never been and will never be allowed on my blog. Adults feeling sexual attraction to minors is fucking disgusting and if anyone thinks that is okay, do not ever interact with me, online or in real life. I will not tolerate that in the slightest.

The fact that people are claiming that they won’t trust the allegations against Neil Gaiman because the author of the article is “TeRfy” is bullshit. People cry out “support victims” unless the supposedly wrong kind of person calls attention to it. Like fuck man just the age range between Gaiman and his victims is more than enough evidence for me
I'm so tired of the idea that autism isn't a disability. I'm aware that some people aren't too affected by their autism but I am disabled by mine. I've been in and out of different therapies since I was nine years old and that was even before I was diagnosed at age twelve. I have frequent meltdowns and shutdowns over the littlest of things and combined with my ADHD and GAD it's quite frankly a miracle I get anything done. I've been exhausted since school has ended since I have to prep for University and I keep having mini meltdowns over all the uncertainty ahead. I barely know how to keep the friends I still have and everyone I'm close with is going to different schools so I have no friends as a safety net come Fall Semester.
It's tiring being Autistic because everything is so much more difficult. I can barely write legibly unless I think about it and even making friends is a game I barely know how to play. Yet when i tell people that I'm autistic they are shocked as if it wasn't obvious by my difficulties with peers.
I just hope that University is better but fuck I don't even know anymore.
But to my main point. Autism is a disability. Deal with it

Ok, I am very sorry for repetitively asking questions involving ingram ( I know I'm annoying, lol), but out of the main five, who do you think ingram would get along best with?

Anyways, I can see Ingram getting along well with a lot of them. I dunno why but I feel like Ingram and Vasilis could be pals. Like not too close, but just someone to chill with. I can see Ingram and Crowven being friends, but I feel like Ingram might get a little annoyed at Crowvens antics. I also think he could be friends with Reggie and Mary, not close or anything, but moreso acquaintances to share a relaxing picnic with and whatnot, or maybe talk about their favorite books over tea or something. They could quietly read books together, or discuss them! They are also both quite polite so they should get along well! Twyla is the only one I cant really see him hanging out with. Twyla is an absolute bitch jerk. And I feel like her behavior would eventually get on Ingrams nerves. I can imagine them being fine together for a little while, just chilling or discussing books or reading, but I feel like he wont be able to put up with her if she isnt being in her most polite of moods.
I definitely think he would get along best with Vasilis.

Hey, hey, okay, but for some reason my brain saw mantis men and the idea that the world is taken over by aliens and went:

Obviously the scientists are long gone, but that doesn’t mean the consequences of their crazy experiments can’t still be far reaching, can it? That doesn’t mean someone can’t come and try and take the facility over with the same ideals as Cave himself, right? I mean, I don’t know alot about the lore of either series, I know more about portal than I do half life but… ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Portal is 2700% funnier when you remember that it canonically takes place in the same universe as Half-Life.
Aperture Science, a company run by a guy with more money than brains, accidentally turned a bunch of test-subjects into mantis-men using only 1950’s technology. 50-odd years later, their chief business competitor, Black Mesa Research Facility, is manipulated into setting off a dimensional catastrophe which ultimately results in the world getting conquered by an interdimensional alien empire called the Combine. The computer in charge of the Aperture Science facility, in the middle of a goofy tirade, claims to be “the only thing standing between us and them.”

So, self insert ocs.
As someone who’s blog revolves around this one, I have some thoughts on the post.
Edith was originally a self insert oc. However, since I wanted the fic I was writing to be a sort of love letter to the community, I decided to expand her personality and try to make it so that she could be projected on by anybody. Or at least, as many people as possible. Speaking a second language, feeling out of place, having anxiety about going places, making impressions, the things in her past and mistakes she’s made, all of these things are a mixture of what I feel and what I’ve heard others feel a lot, and so I added them.
But she is, in fact, her own character and 10th class, whom I love a lot. Whether or not she is so wholly unique that she stands out, I don’t care.
But what I did care about, ironically enough, was making an impression. And that came with the mechanics of her class.
Just because you have a self insert or 10th class OC, you are not obligated in any way to explain what their purpose is, what their reasons are, so long as YOU are happy.
For me, I wanted to come up with a unique 10th class that had her own mechanics, but that’s because I saw untapped potential. If she were to be in the game, it would be near impossible for those mechanics to actually work due to map limitations.
And that’s the thing, because she’s a work of fiction, it doesn’t matter.
That means I can get as creative as I want with her, because she’s not part of the game.
As for shipping, my personal rule is not to ship her with any of the mercs! Not in the main fic, anyway. Might make some spinoffs if I ever finish the main one, but I felt that many had a bias towards certain characters they liked, (which is absolutely fair and I love those kinds of fics either way), and I wanted to keep it so that she could have varying relationships with everyone and not just romance! It’s for personal reasons, not influenced by anybody else.
However, I immensely enjoy seeing people shipping their ocs and self inserts with the team! Why the heck do you think I post x reader headcanons sometimes?
In the end, your characters are not more or less valid, and you don’t love your characters more or less depending on how developed they are.
As long as a character makes you happy, as long as the relationships they share make you happy, as long as you are content, then nobody, and I mean NOBODY can tell you how YOU should write YOUR characters.
You can take overdone concepts and expand upon them in your own way, because your character is unique to YOU.
You can give them modern day clothes and use tropes because your character is unique to YOU.
and YOU,
can do whatever you DAMN want.
You are valid, loved, and your characters, your self inserts, your tenth classes are yours and yours only. I support you all the way!

Good morning all I did not sleep and also I ate mold on accident, by the way I had an idea for a sickfic with heavymedic in it and accidentally came up with a universe around it based on “I’m gonna like the way you fight” (vaguely, just the way the mercs r sorta sorted ykno? like its cool af how oc mercs are introduced)
anyways I still need a name for BLU Heavy. BLU Medic is named Kaspar! The REDs are referred to by their base class names or their first names, the BLU’s are on a first name basis for now to help distinguish between characters.
If anyone has name ideas for Heavy i’d love to hear em!
