AHHH IM GONNA CRY SO HARD PERCY MY SON I'm gonna cry so bad, the story she tells him in the 1st ep, about the mom and son who were cast out and only had each other and how eventually Perseus found his way to a happy end, then in ep 2 he feels that not only was he abandoned by Poseidon but that sally was too and how he wouldn't let him ignore her. he already felt that he and his mom only had each other but now he feels that they've been completely abandoned, cast out, and he's trying to find them both a happy ending, Percy doesn't want glory or honor just to have it, just because, he wants it because he wants his father to see him, to see sally he doesn't start his journey to please the gods or for honor or even to prevent war, he does it to get his mom back because at the end of the day he's just a little boy whos only ever wanted them to be okay in that wooden chest they've been floating in

Honestly, I'm very curious about the next episodes. I'm sure they have done a really good job. There are a few things that bugs me, like the relationship between Sally and Gabe (that should have been more difficult if not abusive, here he seems just a lazy and dirty guy) but maybe we'll see more, I hope.

The only thing that I really hope for is they don't change other characters' storylines, like Bianca and Nico. The "D'Angelo" place that Sally talks about could be just like an easter egg for us to notice, and I'm very happy for it, but I wish it stays like this.

I mean, don't get me wrong, if they make them Italian-American, I will be a little disappointed, but I will trust Rick and his decisions. But I still think that the tragedies of the Di Angelo siblings stem from the time and place they were born and grown in.

These are little things, obviously. But this family is just my favourite, and I have so many headcannons about them

So I was just thinking. If Sally, like, told Percy to join Kronos, I'm pretty sure he would have. I mean, idk about Percy but I would have if she told even if I knew the ending. Like, if Sally believed in it, then I'll fight for it. Would you too or are you weird?

No, but another thing about this show that is so off from the books but we love it is how much Percy actually knows about the Greek stories. Like, yes, our Goddes Sally Jackson taught him, she prepared in the only ways she could. Like, ik in the books he was all like "Huh?" Or "What?" about what had happened (and if he wasn't then the Fandom has rendered my mind usless and I no longer have the ability to differentiate fanfics and canon) but yes.

I feel a certain way about Percy choosing Grover as quest-mate—even as he remembered the prophecy specifically told him he would be betrayed by a friend. Even as he knew Grover had hidden many things from him as a friend before.

Loyalty is his flaw. His strength.

Percy trusted that his faith in Grover went above the oracle’s words because his priority wasn’t truly the quest at heart, it was his mother. And he believed trusting Grover to care about that was the best thing he could do

Yes, so beautiful, something I haven't seen anyone mention and maybe I'm remembering wrong is that if percy calls him Kronos he's giving him more power even if he doesn't know it. So even if sally and percy don't know calling them by name gives them power (which I feel like sally would cause she's awesome) wouldn't be better for percy to call him grandpa.

This sentence haunts me a bit.

Because after everything that Sally has sacrificed to ensure Percy’s safety, after suffering physical, emotional and psychological abuse from Gabe for years, sending Percy to probably very expensive private schools, and still managing to remain kind, baking him cookies, and giving him blue candies whenever he felt bad, and never raising her voice at him, she was still doomed to fail at fully protecting him.

Because to save Percy from getting killed by gods, and monsters, she had to invite a monster into their very home. She had to “condemn” Percy to receive physical and emotional abuse during crucial stages of his life, resulting in dangerously low self-esteem, self-hatred and even suicidal tendencies; issues which follow him throughout every single book.

By the time he was twelve, his self-esteem was so low that Percy even believed Sally didn’t want him around at the start of The Lightning Thief.

Sally, whom he thought the world of. Sally, who is, in his eyes, the kindest, most loving person in the world.

I can’t even begin to imagine how much that thought would mess with a twelve-year-old boy’s mind.

Like, I know we as a fandom see them as the most healthy and best possible mother-son bond ever, and I’m not denying that they absolutely love one another, would do anything for each other or that Sally did not do her absolute best to protect him, but their relationship is in actuality way more nuanced and heartbreaking than we tend to acknowledge most of the time.

this parallels so hard with percy saying “i’m done running from monsters” when going to see zeus bcoz for percy there is no difference between a monster out to get him and a god out to get him because their reasons are never ever justified. what defines a monster anyway? looking like one? nope. acting like one. and a god targetting a literal child is acting like a monster. holy shit the writers were on fire and holy shit i love the parallels

When Sally says “Not everyone who looks like a monster is a monster.” Can be a lot of characters but I think the one that sticks oht the most is Tyson. Especially how Annabeth has to get over her stereotype that all cyclops are monsters in the second book.

Sally and Percy Jackson are such a wonderful example of single motherhood and how young boys don’t need a father figure to become good men. Sally was the only parent Percy had for the first thirteen years of his life and he was already a kind, compassionate, and loving person far before Paul and Poseidon entered his life and that was because of Sally’s amazing parenting. The way Percy respects all the women around him, the way he treats everyone with kindness unless proven undeserving, his undying loyalty to all of his loved ones and his protective nature. That is all because of Sally and she clearly didn’t need a man to raise Percy to be the wonderful young man he is

Do we know what Sally called Poseidon when they were together did she call him by his full name or did she just like call him Don
