Dude Adaine looks so fucking happy in her new art. She seems so relaxed and content and, like, SIMPLE. Just- look at the progression here:

There is no anxious undertone or manic look in her eyes. If anything, her eyes look curious now. Curious and open and unworried. She is simply happy.

Adaine is happy, and I am going to cry.

I’m watching bit compilations of the Fantasy High campaign(s) for Dimension 20 at the minute, and I’m watching one for Junior Year ep 16, and I love …

There’s a bit where some of Kipperlilly’s motivations for hating the party are revealed, and it’s revealed that she’s jealous that Riz’s father was killed, because she wants a cool and tragic backstory and thinks that her lack of it has kept her back at the adventuring academy while they had an advantage. And Siobhan, as Adaine, without batting an eye:

“And her response to that was to be mad at us, and not to kill her parents?”

To which the others respond … Okay, Adaine, that’s the sociopath test! And just general slightly spooked humour.

And I just love that … You can really see the girl who on her first day at school had a fight break out on top of her and wound up killing a lunch lady with a ladle. You can see the girl who did have to kill her abusive father after he casually murdered her sister. This is all coming from trauma, but she puts such a casual … Like, girl, get with the program on it. There’s such disdain for Kipperlilly whining about it instead of actually doing something.

I love that it is genuinely mostly a joke, she’s not seriously advocating for murder here, but it also does say quite a bit about Adaine. About her trauma and her pragmatism and her lingering perfectionism and her rather enforced nonchalance about the potential necessity of parent murder and her distinct attitude that if a problem presents itself, then you fix it, doing whatever you have to do in the process.

There’s just a sense that, you know, if Kipperlilly has decided to be evil and has decided that she’s fine with killing people, which we have proof she has, why is she not going with the logical solution to her problem? If you have decided that you’re fine with murdering people and that morality is no longer a stumbling block, why are you not doing the most efficient thing to solve your stated problem? If you’re going to be evil, be better at it.

Adaine would be an absolutely terrifying bad guy. And also probably needs more counselling.

we got gorgug and fabian quality time. riz and fig pulled some super spy hijinks. adaine asked for her big sister and was listened to. kristen ascended to sainthood. two fathers died. gilear canonically has a massive shlong. i wept and laughed and wept some more. i can’t wait for friday.

riz can have a little bit of loving, badass double-agent father, as a treat

god, every episode of fantasy high live i think to myself “wow, this is the best and most exciting episode ever, nothing can ever get close to this” and think about it all week until the next episode where i think the exact same thing and now i wonder if ill ever accept the fact that fantasy high is a consistently great show and i don’t have to shield myself from potential disappointment because it knocks it out of the park every time

instead of corn or philosophy students, i propose a new spirit guardian form that combines the deadliest aspects of ally and kristen possible: beyblades and ribbon dancers

I told ya I’d have more Adaine and Gorgug friendship :) These two just warm my heart and I can’t stop drawing them!!! Every Fantasy High drawing I’ve done has actually been a redraw of an old drawing from before Junior Year was announced and it has been a blast to redo them :)

Anyways, I headcanon that Adaine actually hangs out at the Thistlespring tree a lot, especially back during Freshman year. Wilma and Digby are always so delighted to have her over :p Gorgug and Adaine movie nights are very real in my head.

Ya might be surprised at just how often I can make a drawing based on Gorgug best friendism. Now I know I shared art of Riz and Gorgug best friendism first- BUT ADAINE AND GORGUG BEST FRIENDISM IS WHERE MY HEART LIES. Adaine is always looking out for Gorgug and they have such fun silly moments together. I loved Adaine telling Gorgug to punch her LMAO. It also helps that Siobhan and Zac are always on the same silliness wave length.

adaine's denim jacket is a mental illness/trauma recovery staple, actually. she wears that jacket every goddamn day and it has fluffy pockets and probably mysterious stains and tears that are a reminder of the life she's lived. a tear from catching on one of gorgug's tin flowers that she wore like a corsage on prom night. a yoghurt stain from gilear that really was powerfully resistant to cleaning, as much as she tried. a pulled seam from kristen shoving her whole buff arm into a pocket to get ecaf out. an extravagant embroidery of her name sewn onto the inside of the collar by cathilda in fabian's calligraphy. an abjurative ward burned into the denim by aelwyn who never learned to sew. an eternally damp spot on the shoulder where boggy cuddles up still wet from the aquatic portion of his backpack. a missing chunk of wool taken by riz for 'analysis' that was really stuffed into a baggie and pinned on a conspiracy board. a tiny unicorn created from fig's illusion in the nightmare forest that seemed to stay real even after leaving the forest prancing about the inner world of the jacket. a pocket in the ethereal realm just so that ghostly edgar the rat can curl up in it without phasing through it. an 'in memoriam' patch sewn in to commemorate the jacket-world person who sacrificed his life to give her a wand of ray of frost in freshman year. a little uplifting message written in ballpoint pen on the inside of her cuff during class. a smattering of wolf hairs that persist no matter how hard she tries to brush them off and keep ending up in her mouth somehow, although she keeps politely quiet about the occasional grey she finds on her shoulders.

i'd just like everyone to know that when fabian gifted adaine a worm in a box it did not occur to me once that it was a literal worm until it started talking. i had no doubt in my mind that it was a fuzzy blue worm on a string in a gold box that she was going to wear like an earpiece/hearing aid.
