I just watched and finished watching Lisa Frankenstein! and have never felt so much serotonin!!! The Designs, The Outfits/Costumes, The Characters, And the fucking Soundtrack Slaps!!! Also Very, Very, Very Fun Fact! The Soundtrack is also on Cassette Tape! Now I can add more to my physical media obsession with Cassette Tapes!!!!

Ya know, you truly never realize how hard and rare it is to find cassette tapes decently priced until your mom hands your her old cassette player. And you just can't tell if the cassette tape she hands you is so old that is doesn't work and you're wondering if it's the cassette or the cassette player. And the cassette tape is ‘Guns N Roses’
Nooo i just saw a TikTok of someone calling their mom a hoarder cause she has a CD collection and going "i can play these faster on an app" and telling her to throw them away BITE BITE BITE BITE KILL KILL KILL KILL if someone said that to me i would rip them apart with my teeth i would burn them alive the violence that would take place would be unimaginable i would be an unleashed demon hungry for blood and meat. unimaginable horrors. death and destruction. killing. maiming. no one could survive that. it would be a nuclear apocalypse. leave the fucking CDs alone

I am thinking of making a physical photo album. I know everything is digital, but if the internet suddenly vanishes... everything is lost. I miss physical media. I think, for some things, I'll start collecting it again.

This is my actual collection of CDs
I started collecting CDs in I think 2012. It’s small collection tho, I had more but I sold some and I really regret that because now the price of CDs is higher (the brand new ones)
Yeah you can see that I love SOUNDGARDEN and everything related to Chris Cornell… I also have a pile of my custom discs from 2014(?) and some of my stepfather ones from early 2000’s
I can’t even explain how much I was into Hole and L7 I always dreamed about having original ones in my collection especially L7s “Bricks are Heavy”
I almost forgot about Sub Pop 200 CD and lately I like to listen to this one because it brings so much nostalgia to me because I remember discovering more and more about grunge music and idk I felt a connection with this genre (I still feel)

My biological father had a lot of those custom discs and I remember the 9 y/o me and him driving his car and blasting Rammstein or old Metallica albums and then later when I was older I brought him my L7 CD to play in car but he didn’t like them… I remember my disappointment. He was a classic metalhead. I like those memories…

I’m a fan of New Order and I wish that where I went they had “Low-Life” album instead of “Substance” because I prefer it more and the song “Elegia” is an absolute instrumental masterpiece. Substance is fine, I just was in mood for New Order so I bought it.
Second CD is kinda fun because I love x-files and I found this one on vinted, it was cheap and not in a very good condition but the cover just bought me.
I discovered that the graphic on cover is a part of bigger picture and I LOVE!!! when CDs have that! It always surprises me positively. The same situation I had with the album “Ten” from Pearl Jam, I used this paper cover as a poster in my room when I was teenager 👨🏻🦳
My boyfriend’s picks are also good, I never was into Tool but he wanted to show me this album and about Blade Runner soundtrack I don’t need to write a lot because it’s good. d-_-b
I need to check out for some fun places where I can get CDs stationary like small record store or sth because going to shopping mall is literally burning my brain cells (and eyes, why tf the lights are so bright there)
I also ended my Spotify subscription because of switching to mp3, I’m still having Spotify tho because my friends from university have Airbuds and I like checking what they are listening or show them what I listen in the fcking middle of the night

My secret is that I love physical media. My aunt gave me a big box of movies she didn’t want and I felt like a kid on Christmas.
They actually make physical media for a much larger percentage of movies than they ever did in the past. Often with a lot more care than any small release was treated in the early dvd days. Its just if you only watch streaming stuff or the big new recent box office hits you won't see that. It is so ridiculously easy to get physical media for movies that even 5 years ago you couldn't even find. Like yes Netflix is a stingy bastard but so many things are available on disc WITH special features than ever before
Physical media will always be superior in my book. Especially since it seems like digital ownership isn't actually ownership. I like having something that they can't just take away. Plus, sorting through actual DVDs instead of media libraries across 5 different platforms is so much more fun.
