So I like this girl. We met in elementary but we weren’t close, like we would exchange are hellos and byes and that would be it. Bc of where we lived we ending up not going to the same middle school, I would have thought that she forgot me but she didn’t. High school came around and we met once again. Over our freshman year we would call each by one name and we would have known who it was. Like it was our thing. I always thought she was amazing, and talented, and she was gorgeous. Her voice was astonishing. She could sing a song I didn’t like and I would then love it. But that year I found out that she had a boyfriend. It was fine she was happy, she was smiling that beautiful smile, it was all good. Over the summer she would post photos of her and her friends and I would comment encouraging comments that would seem like for everyone but in all reality they were for her and only her. Then band camp happened, it was a lovely time. And I heard that she broke up with her boyfriend. Anyways we even spent a whole day together with some of our other friends. That day I realized that she extremely cute and hilarious. I would have grandma run with her any day. Also I’m like really scared to tell her bc she is like everything and I’m like nothing, another thing is I don’t know if she like girls soooooooo yeah

Okay so I know a lot about this kinda stuff because my friends use a lot of labels that people often over generalize as being “basically the same thing” when that’s not true.

Sure they have similarities, but similarities don’t mean they’re identical.

The biggest example is probably bi, Pan, poly, omni.

As I personally know at least one person each who identifies with one of these labels, I’m do my best to break it down from how it’s been explained to me.

Bi

Being attracted to two or more genders

Poly

Being attracted to multiple genders

Omni

Being attracted to all gender/lack of but maybe having preferences, maybe not, but acknowledges different genders

Pan

Being attracted to people regardless of gender

I am not an expert and some people may use these terms in different ways, I am merely restating what I have heard.

These labels are often widely down to,

“Oh, you’re basically bi”

Which is some stupid shit

They are similar

This has needed to be said for too long, lesbian relationships are not your own personal fantasy, gay friends are no different than your other friends, yaoi is not supporting gay men it’s fetishizing them, bi or Pan people are not ‘down for a threesome’ bc they like more than one gender and trans people’s bodies should not be fetishized bc they have different genitalia.

I decided to draw some of my oc’s whose stories I am currently working on for pride month. I should have started this sooner, but I do want to do more this month with more of my characters, so keep an eye out for them. I also want to fangirl about them. Let me know if you guys are curious about any of my characters because I am more than happy to share information about them!

Gwen (Left): Gwen is 19 years old and pansexual. She is a huge weeb. She spends a lot of time watching anime and playing video games. Gwen is pretty socially awkward, so she tends to spend more time with her 2 cats than actual people. She is an animal lover and works part time at an animal shelter. She is a complete disaster who constantly needed to be reminded to sleep and eat. She is also the main protagonist of the story that she is in.

Kiki (Right): Kiki is 20 years old and is a lesbian trans woman. She’s the responsible one of the relationship and is constantly trying to make sure that Gwen stays alive. She’s a little shy and insecure when it comes to affection, but luckily Gwen is good at breaking her out of her shell. She is currently studying to become a doctor and is constantly stressed. Kiki is the friend group’s mom, and enjoys watching shows with Gwen in her free time. She also likes to read mystery novels.

These two lovely ladies met when Kiki was looking for a roomate, while Gwen was trying to find a place to live that allowed pets close to the college. Long story short they ended up living together and Kiki caught feelings very quickly. Gwen ended up accidentally hearing Kiki talking to one of the cats about how big her crush on her was and after some shenanigans they got together!

I identified as genderfluid

I accepted I was an atheist

my therapist gave up on me

I identified as panromantic instead of pansexual

i identified as demigirl

I became confused on my gender

I did 🍃
