Posting something Metalocalypse related again(long post)
A while I go I filled out this shipping chart made by @redcrowz and I want to go through it since I haven’t posted anything Mtl related in a while
Murderface/Toki and Murderface/Skwisgaar as BROTPs just work for me, especially Murderface and Skwisgaar with the Dethcamp episode. Abigail and Toki I feel like would just bond a lot after the events of DSR and still stayed friends after AOTD
These should all be pretty self explanatory
I don’t like Knubbler and Abigail because I really don’t think Abigail would ever like Knubbler like that(though I do believe that they somewhat got along after she was introduced)and with Murderface and Magnus I mostly just read a lot of fanfics where Murderface was considered the youngest in the band before Toki so it just felt kinda wrong
Nathan/Magnus is something that is also depicted in pre-klok which is something I can see happening and Magnus/Charles is something I’m cool with because I’ve seen @fishklok make a lot of good stuff with that ship. Abigail/Charles is just one where their personalities work well together
I know I put Toki/Murderface as a BROTP but I also see them as a cute couple. I see Amber and Seth as a malewife and girlboss relationship, bet Seth also kinda sucks, and MMA/Magnus I like just because I like antagonist pairings.
Honestly I feel like these, besides Nathan/Charles, are the most popular Nathan ships in the fandom. Abigail/Nathan I have always liked and Pickles/Nathan really grew on me as I watched the show.
I feel like a lot of the conflict in season 4 would have been prevented if Nathan, Abigail and Pickles just got together. Melmord, Amber, and Seth really grew on me because of @fishklok fan art
These ships I feel like have the most you can work with because both these ships include a lot of one on one time with the characters which is why I like them so much

I almost forgot to post this. One of my favorite villains is the Metal Masked Assassin so I made a drawing of him!
This is base I used for the drawing, I’m not that good at drawing yet so I use some bases to help me out, especially since I’m not good at drawing muscles yet.
I’m two weeks late to do this but August 6th was the first year anniversary from when I started watching Metalocalypse. I planned that while watching the show I would draw doodles of the characters and post my opinions on them but I didn’t end up doing that so I decided I would draw them now.
Headcanon: the killers bother themselves with washing and caring for the (remaining) hair, and they, in turn, treacherously capitulate his head, leaving behind a lonely bald spot. And Magnus, well… he washes his hair with the same thing he uses to wash his ass tg @clear_potsyk

That shot from dsr where we see MMA when he's younger and hes basically the same dude. hes fucking sneering, like looks so mad and disgusted. I love it, his hate game has been constant, relentless and violent. He's known no peace except maybe when he was literally a baby.

Wait wait wait. Was the Metal Masked Assassin supposed to be Nathan's foil?
They're both big guys with long hair (in opposite colors even). They both speak with a natural death growl. Both leaders of some sort.
The MMA is like what Nathan wants to be early on in the series. He's brutal, he never shows any emotions except rage, he doesn't care about a single person on Earth now that his brother's dead. Metal is seemingly fused to his face, he literally can't stop being "metal." And that's the way Nathan tries to describe himself and his band, especially in interviews. They have rules about not caring about people. They can't like things that aren't "brutal" enough. What he wants, when he's young and immature, is to be just like this man.
But Nathan's not like the Assassin, and that's what makes him a good guy.
Nathan cares about people. He loves his bandmates so much, he started thinking of them as his family. He tries to have a good relationship with his parents, even if he thinks they're embarrassing. He realized there can be value in being soft, and in reaching out to people.
Consider the only dialogue they exchange in the entire series:
MMA: You took my brother from me. NATHAN: But we'd rather burn in Hell than let you take ours.
The MMA didn't know what happened to his brother until General Crozier told him. It was a surprise, because the two didn't really seem to be that close, and he didn't know what his brother had been doing. But Nathan's always around Toki (and the rest of Dethklok). When his brother was taken, Nathan and the others found Toki using Magnus' clues, which they could only do because they pay attention to each other. They still remembered the place where Toki had his first show and his audition many years later.
And after that one exchange? THE MMA DIES. He's gone from the rest of the series, because he's already served his narrative purpose. The MMA's line shows that he's going to remain stagnant forever, single-mindedly pursuing brutality and violence. Nathan's line shows how far he's come, that he can confidently say how much he cares about someone. Nathan overcame his inner conflict so hard that his foil STOPPED EXISTING.
