dumb question but would Ghoul Hunter not be able to watch gore movies because it would him a bit hungry?

Yes, yes he would.

Luz puts on some movie thinking it’s a horror but is actually a gore fest and she’s lowkey horrified. The others seen stuff on the boiling isles but even they have their own limits. I think he’d find practical effects gore scrumptious looking the same way we find ghibli food tasty looking, it’s all too perfect looking. He’s of course very much ashamed of it

Some Ghoul Hunter! Haven’t drawn this guy in a while, been a bit distracted by Sonic haha. This is meal time for Hunter.

For your ghoul AU, besides the whole flesh consumption and more animalistic traits from smell and hearing does anythin per se useful come from Hunter's new biology?

He has some standard grimwalker headcanon stuff like immunity to heat and lungs turning into stone when sleeping. He’s a bit stronger and faster than the average witch and can see in the dark quite well. Reflective cat eyes! He produces more adrenaline which means he’s on fight or flight more often and his body is good at preserving energy.

Downside of that means he’s sleepy more often since he doesn’t have a proper diet so he often takes quick naps on the job when he can and has the heartbeat of a humming bird. He’s a bit more prone to passing out. When he’s in the human realm, he starts napping throughout the day.

Tbh a lot of stuff you can also chalk to being a child soldier like quick reflexes, flexibility(bro can fold like a lawn chair), agility, mithridatism and great balance.

When he starts eating properly post canon, he gets the zoomies due to more energy, grows a new set of stronger fangs and stronger nails.

Other than that’s he’s close to a normal witch, a part of me wants to add more stuff but I want it to be more believable since he is supposed to be the more ideal clone in terms of looks.

Past failed grimwalkers during early testing had stuff like claws, scales, tails, muzzle like faces, ect (closer to how grimwalkers are depicted in myths in this AU) before Belos was able to perfect the recipe. Hunter is the first grimwalker in a very long time that had something ‘go wrong’ in his creation because he was made too young which meant he went through a natural puberty/development unlike the other grimwalkers who were already fully grown.

OBSESSED WITH THE GHOUL AU. thinking about that offhand comment camila made in thanks to them about getting blood for the witches to drink if she had to. she would flip OUT if she knew Hunter was pretty much starving himself.

Here’s a more comedic version of what I got cooking up.

When Camila brings up diet stuff with the kids, Hunter briefly thinks about admitting his blood thirst but decides against it.

When the incident does happen, Camila blames herself for not noticing sooner. She briefly questions in her head why he didn’t say anything but puts those thoughts down quickly. She apologizes and immediately try’s figuring out ideas to accommodate for his diet.(She’s definitely flipping out but try’s to keep cool for Hunter but this kid she’s been caring for has been starving himself for months and is apparently a ‘cannibal’-)

Hunter feels guilty for Camila and his friends blaming themselves and thinks of himself as a burden and a monster despite them trying to reassure him he’s not.

Oh I just had an evil thought about the Ghoul AU

Belos uses food as a main manipulation tactic for keeping Hunter "efficient and successful" on his missions. It has not been revealed where that meat comes from (if I'm not missing or forgetting anything).

I would totally believe that since petrification is admittedly rarely done if at all in the present day, Belos would feed him the meat of prisoners. Maybe he would amputate them and use those removed limbs to simultaneously feed Hunter less and still keep the meat fresh---objectively, it's being efficient with resources and punishing him for underperforming.

How fucked up would it be if (assuming that the ingredients required to create Grimwalkers are reusable and that the process is worth the time investment) Belos feeds him other Grimwalkers. What if he had tried it previously with the bodies of failed specimens? Would they have been able to tell the difference?

Correct for the most part! The Emperor coven is already known to have secret petrifications of Wild witches so it would make sense for some of them to be executed in different ways for reasons. I don’t think he’d be bother to have limbs amputated, rather why not just kill them if he’s already fine with doing that.

Though the idea of “reformed” wild witches(aka those forced into covens) leaving the conformatorium with missing limbs and being told that’s just punishment is all sorts of dystopian. Though, I always like the idea that the most wild of witches would just “disappear” and the rest, lesser ones would be forced into covens or kept imprisoned. They all get arrested but have different fates depending on severity of their crimes.

After Hunter carvings arise, Belos has a select few witches hanged and taken to the morgue where they could be butchered by him or Hunter (a form of punishment) for food privately.

I always saw Grimwalkers being a limited product due to having very limited sources. I mean there aren’t many palistorm trees, selkidomous are rare, stonesleeper lungs where already limited at the start and might degrade over time, and the galdorstones are difficult to obtain. Realistically, I think Belos could only have a max of two grimwalkers at a time since he’s reusing parts.

Also the horror that Hunter’s body parts had been reused multiple times for past Golden Guards is too horrific to pass up. I think Belos harvests the corpses for these parts after killing them, all besides the bone since that’s too tedious for what it’s worth. So as much as he would like to make Hunter cannibalize other grimwalkers for experiments, he can’t do that unfortunately without further degrading a limited source.

(I think he would have had more sources in the past where he would have been able to do experiments on the grimwalkers until these materials eventually became unusable and he had to be more cautious on what he used his remaining materials on, much to his dismay)

So the best he could do is make Hunter eat the bones. Yes our boy eats bones, plenty of carnivorous animals do and it’s a good source of calcium. Though he can’t survive off them, thats an incredibly deficient diet. Since Hunter is actually consuming something that’s the same species as him, this is genuine cannibalism and it makes him incredibly sick.

Hunter is unaware of this of course, assuming it’s some random witch bone that tastes weirdly gross and is also a bit aged for his liking(not like he has the option to be picky)

Like I said, it makes him sick. Like he’s been poisoned sick. Through these are just bones and who’s to say that Belos doesn’t have grimwalker organs and flesh, preserved somewhere in storage. Might explore that possibility in the future.

You said Hunter before has keener senses and a little more animalistic and even hunts. I have no clues if wolves exist in Connecticut but it be very funny if he joined like a pack for a hunt lol

Sadly there’s no wolves in Connecticut but they do have other animals like black bears, bobcats and coyotes. I think Hunter probably would run into other predatory animals when hunting the same prey. Realistically the animal would just run away but this is a fun thought. I think I just like the thought of Hunter being good with animals, human realm and demon realm.

hello! out of curiosity, would it be possible for a witch with healing magic to let Hunter, i don’t know, bite a part of their hand off, and then just regenerate it with their magic? i’m not sure if that would defeat the plot of the au as Hunter would freely be able to chomp on someone, haha!

Actually they can! However it’s incredibly limiting. This method would only allow Hunter to get surface level meat. He also need organs, deep tissue, bone, ect. Also while healing magic can do all sorts of wonders and I’m sure could regenerate limbs and flesh depending on how talented the healer is. I doubt they would find someone genuine that’s would be willing to do such a thing and at a frequent rate, especially when he starts eating more and actually developing healthy eating habits. I’m sure one of his family members would be happy to do this but Hunter would never allow it. Id imagine it also be a much longer medical procedure than him simply being able to bite chunks out since that would literally him mutilating someone alive lol, even with the help of numbing or pain relief potions.

The amount of food shown would have been perfect for Hunter a few years ago but now with lots of love and healthy habits being put upon him, it’s no longer sustainable. But what healing witches can provide is blood!

Blood is a good alternative for when he’s unable to have meat so I’d imagine he’d be pretty stocked up on it. He gets frequent refills on blood, it’s also slightly more socially acceptable to have as I’d imagine blood being a regular part of some demons and those suffering from vampirism diets. I’d think most people would assume Hunter is a vampire if they don’t know about the grimwalker situation. So he takes blood bags with him on the go as food.

Of course he needs actual food and lots of it as he’s pretty malnourished and has lots of catching up to do. As well as developing healthy eating habits.

He eventually gets a pass that allows him to eat bits of bodies that aren’t being used, that where donated. So if a bunch of healer students are dissecting a cadaver, Hunter is cleanup. Or if organs are given for a transplant, Hunter could eat what wasn’t used. Obviously this disturbs Hunter but it’s better than going feral and attacking people. Of course it was a bit difficult to obtain pass but with the right strings pulled and some light threats, he was able to get it.

All these images are post canon in the Au. For the amount of pain and suffering inflected upon Hunter for the majority of this Au, I do want him to have a happy ending. While there are tragic alternatives, him having a happy ending was always my intention. While it be more difficult to reach than in canon, he gets there eventually :3

How Hunter survived possession in this version, poor flapjack got caught in some crossfire, the shock of it forced Belos out (Belos , who already wanted out since he the bloodlust and painful hunger was too much)

Okok thinking about the Ghoul Hunter AU and wondering how would the TTT possession play out.

Hunter had been suppressing his hunger and instincts for months and now Belos is in control.

Does he get the same bloodlust as Hunter? Is he able to control it and does he even want to? Does he use Hunter's jaws made for ripping and tearing flesh do to just that to his friends?

Does Hunter have to explain afterwards that the mauling wasn't a side-effect of the possession, not Belos' doing, but an urge Hunter is actively trying to stop himself from acting on day after day?

By the time the possession happened, Hunter would be months without a full meal.

However this wouldn’t be the first time Hunter lashes out as his friends, that would be another time before :3. When the possession happens, the hexsquad would be aware of Hunters tendencies and bit of backstory but not the completed and ugly picture. Hunter censors himself a lot around them, never wanting to expose them to his violence and hating himself for any violence he commits against them or in front of them.

Anyways, when Belos possess him, he is overwhelmed with months worth of bloodlust and hunger. Belos felt hunger and lack of control due to his own past and curse but he was never prepared by overwhelming power of it in Hunter. So unlike canon where Belos has his focus on Titan blood, he’s overwhelmed by hunger and fights with the intent to eat.

It’s shocking, when he possesses Hunter at first with how much hunger and pain he feels as seen in the first image, he didn’t expect it and he can’t control it. So rather than mocking or in control, he’s reduced to a ravenous beast, snarling and salivating with Hunter oh so desperately trying to take back control.

These are also more like concept sketches because I do intend on having more drawings of this particular scene. Belos really thought possessing Hunter would be easy, bro forgot Hunter was used to starving and suppressing urges. :33
