I am unbelievably excited for Nocturne. Like, I was literally shaking for 20 minutes after I watched the trailer. I know, super normal response lmao
I already have so many theories about it and I love that it takes place during the French Revolution. So so so many extravagant noble outfits and the music *chefs kiss*
The art is also absolutely amazing. I hope the rest of the show looks just as wonderful and that the animators are given a good amount of time to work.

Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust (2000) Castlevania: Nocturne Season 2 (2025)
i finished castlevania.
this was the perfect ending for these three. i could not stop crying while watching this episode. after all the struggle, fighting, pain, and death, they can finally be together again.
s4 ep9 was PERFECT. the trio reunited again, having to face their biggest battle yet. i had been waiting for them to reunite, and their reunion was done so well. i loved seeing them fighting together again. their chemistry while fighting is incredible, protecting each other like they've been fighting for years.
trevor telling sypha he loved her right before he fought death was so moving. i could not stop crying after that scene. these two have become one of my favorite ships, and seeing their relationship grow throughout the season has been such a beautiful watch. although the episode leaves on a cliffhanger, the buildup to the season finale was incredible.
trevor finally has someone he truly loves, and because of that love, he can become the hunter his family would be proud of. while sypha is trevor's strength, trevor is also sypha's. she was able to go on the adventures she always dreamed of and discover her strength thanks to her meeting with trevor. they saved villages, helped people, and fell in love along the way. not only did they find each other, trevor and sypha also found alucard. their connection and friendship give them all a start to a new life. these characters meeting in gresit was a fateful encounter that changed their lives forever.
in the series finale, we finally have sypha tell trevor she loves him, too. at this point, i could not stop crying. the love between them is so genuine and perfectly written. their development was done so well that you fall not only for their relationship but also for them as characters. they have so much respect for one another, they see each other for who they are. the bad, the good, and the ugly. they've seen it all on their journey, yet their love is stronger than ever.
alucard's ending made me so happy. after being consumed by grief and guilt, he's now FINALLY content with his life. even though he's dracula's son, he decided to defend humanity to honor his mom. he lost his parents, his new friends left him, and then he was alone in that big house. later on, he was betrayed by people he thought he could trust. alucard's humanity and vampirism will always be apart of his life, a constant battle that will go on for the rest of his life. however, he still loves people. he still values connection, and it has much to do with trevor and sypha. alucard learned the value of friendship from them, giving him hope despite the dark time he went through after they left.
now, at the end of the series, he has people and a community who depend on him, and he finally sees how much he has to offer the world. alucard now has his two favorite people by his side, a village that depends on him and humans he can trust. although there will be moments where he will grieve and be in pain, at least now he has a place to belong with people he cares for. i'm so happy he's finally able to smile <3
the ending with dracula and lisa was also very beautiful. finally reunited, given a second chance at life, and happy to be together again. it's so beautiful to see the series start and end with them.
i'm so happy I finally watched Castlevania, and i can easily say that the trio will be a favorite of mine for a long time!
castlevania season 2 finale was so bittersweet. highlighting sypha and trevor's development while also emphasizing alucard's grief. i was so happy that sypha and trevor had decided to stay together. their relationship has so much potential to grow, and i am so excited to see where it goes from here! on the other hand, alucard sitting alone in his home breaking down made my chest hurt so much. the only people who have known him since birth are gone and now he's left all by himself. i'm hoping alucard can heal from everything that happened and even have a chance to find his own happiness.
these three have grown so close in such a short time, i'm hoping it won't be long until they reunite again <3
castlevania s2 thoughts!! *spoilers*
I have been looking forward to watching this series FOR SO LONG. I have always loved dark fantasy in medieval settings, so I knew this show would be fun to watch!
s1 was a short but perfect way to begin the rest of the show. You meet the main characters, get introduced to Dracula and his rampage on mankind, and towards the end of s1, we finally get our trio together.
S2 began the journey of fighting Dracula. What I loved the most was watching Sypha, Trevor, and Alucard warm up to one another as the season went by. The annoyance between Trevor and Alucard while Sypha was the mediator was so sweet to see! They were able to rely on each other despite barely meeting.
Once the trio found their way to the Belmont house, I knew I would love these characters for a long time! Watching Trevor remember his family's relics was so bittersweet. Knowing that he was forced to flee his ancestral home because of the church was heartbreaking, but as he walked through the halls, you could see the inner child in him heal little by little. Sypha running around excited about the books was so cute; she's such an intelligent woman who's not afraid to put herself in danger for what's right. While she's studying and Trevor is looking, Alucard is roaming around looking at all the deceased vampire remains. Although Alucard is on the side of humans, he is part vampire at the end of the day. It added more to Alucard's character. You could see the individual character's personalities shine brighter as they take in the belmont library and i love that!
The Dracula plotline is very interesting because he always seems indifferent to his scheme to end the human race. While the vampires who worked under him are desperate to wreak havoc, Dracula sits in his room quietly. Obviously, he wasn't as involved in his plan as he once was. He was a shell of the man he once was, which became more evident in the season finale. Watching him tear up at the thought of killing his son DESTROYED ME!! As stated many times in the series, Dracula is a brilliant man, yet it is clear to Alucard and himself that he is no longer the person he used to be.
Carmilla was an interesting character who constantly worked to make her plan succeed. She manipulates Hector, uses the vampire's anger to hatch her plan, and persuades Dracula to move the castle, all steps toward her potential success.
However, all it took was a hunter, a witch, and a half-vampire to take down the most feared creature in the land. As the trio storms the castle, they quickly take control and fight off all their enemies. The teamwork was insane to watch. It was like these three had known each other their whole lives. The chemistry between them is what I love the most about this series. It's obvious they were all destined to meet and save the world together.
The season finale was so bittersweet. For starters, Sypha and Trevor's decision to travel together and continue their mission was so beautiful!!! They have so much respect for each other; you can see how much stronger they are together. Trevor was able to find a meaning for himself, while Sypha was able to realize how much she had to offer the world. These two together will be unstoppable!! I'm so excited to see their continued character growth and how their romance grows!!
On the other hand, the ending scene with the Alucard broke my heart. To save the world, he had to kill his father in his childhood home. Alucard understood his father was grieving; he was too, yet he knew he had to protect the human race in honor of his mother. Watching him cry alone brought tears to my eyes. He's such a lonely soul. Although Trevor and Sypha gave him a new purpose, his grief and sadness are still too much for him. I'm hoping we'll be able to see him heal in the next season.
overall, castlevania s2 is easily 10/10!!! It is such an amazing season, and I can't wait for more!!

On Alucard and Maria
Are there actually fans advocating for Alucard to be written as Maria’s father figure in the new season of Nocturne? Like that would be a good thing and not infinitely creepier? I don’t think they’ve thought this through.
Alucard is the single most popular character in the franchise. He’s also probably the most shipped character. And yet he has only had one canon love interest in the decades since he’s existed. It’s Maria. And you’re telling me that you think that because he’s 300+ and she’s 17-18 when they started living together in the games, that it would be grooming. However, somehow him inserting himself into her life at age 16 when she’s just lost both her parents wouldn’t come off like grooming!?
Does this man look like he should be picking up random children!? He’s literally terrified of his own cursed blood. Maybe LISTEN TO HIM.
I’m convinced fandoms have forgotten what that word means. Grooming has specific features. It doesn’t just mean “older guy and younger girl.” A relationship with an age gap or an uneven power dynamic can be exploitative or abusive without being a case of grooming. Grooming specifically refers to the process of forming a relationship with a child with the intention of leveraging that relationship and trust to train and prepare (aka brainwash) your victim for the harmful activities the groomer wants to normalize. The relationship Alucard and Maria have in the games is in no way grooming. You know what would be grooming though?
Coming into a 16 year old’s life when she’s vulnerable, traumatized, and recently orphaned only to insinuate yourself as a new father figure. This is so highly inappropriate and a huge red flag. Consider what you’re actually asking for here. These characters do not exist in a a vacuum. They have a long history together as each other’s only canon love interests. You cannot fully extract them from the games, art, interviews, audio dramas, animations, and more where they’re depicted as a couple. There are decades of this precedent and you are asking Netflix to knowingly take the characters with an established romantic dynamic that the audience is already primed to see as romantic and instead portray their meeting as him trying to be her new daddy?
“Oh look! Alucard and his… daughter? Yikes.” This is an official advertisement btw.
THAT is grooming! Think about the optics of this! It would be abysmal! No it would NOT fix the problem of their age gap to make him act like a groomer and get in good with her as a dad. You just cannot completely extract them from the legacy of their relationship in the source materials. It will be incredibly creepy and textbook grooming if you get your way.
Is this really what you want to associate with an “adoptive father Alucard”? Because the art we create doesn’t exist in a vacuum. All the old content—official and fanmade—is still going to exist.
What is so objectionable about the original dynamic anyway? It’s a pretty fun subversion of the tired and problematic vampire trope of “vampire man stalks teen girl and coerces her into being his”. Instead in their original relationship, Maria is the one who pursues Alucard! It’s the young woman who takes initiative and is given the agency to go after what she wants. She courts and woos him. That’s part of the fun!
Yes, Alucard is 300+. He’s also a fictional creature that doesn’t actually exist IRL and stays eternally young. There are no actual people who will ever have his problem of staying 20 forever so it’s rather silly to say he can’t date any humans because of course he will have an age gap with any of them.
The only real problem I have seen people bring up is Maria’s age, but from what I can tell, the show’s already fixed this. Check it out.
In The Games
Rondo of Blood: Maria is 12. She and Alucard do not meet. Richter is a brother-figure and not romantic.
There is then a 5 year time skip.
Symphony of the Night: Maria is 17. She and Alucard meet to save Richter. At the end, Alucard says his goodbyes and intends to return to a life of solitude. Maria goes after him because she has developed feelings for him and doesn’t want him to suffer a life alone.
Maria is given agency to pursue what she wants and prove herself even against Alucard’s resistance and hesitance to let another person into his life.
They spend a year together before we get the audio drama.
Nocturne of Remembrance: Maria continues to try to get close to Alucard. They end up saving each other’s lives and in the end he finally confesses his romantic feelings for her. She is an adult and perfectly able to make her own choices. She chose him. He admits he returns her feelings.
How fandom can look at a story about a young woman subverting the trope and chasing the vampire to get what she wants—basically an anti-Bella Swan—and still find a way to disempower her just so they can pearl clutch? I couldn’t tell you.
So now let’s look at what the show did.
In The Show
Nocturne S1: Maria is 16. She’s been aged up from 12, probably to give her a more active and believable role. But this also means she’s within a normal age to start feeling attraction and expressing her wants. Within her society, she’s even considered of marriageable age. However we are spared the discomfort of our modern values clashing with her contemporaneous ones because Maria in this season isn’t interested in romance. She’s interested in revolution, equality, justice. They’ve portrayed her with so much love and strength. There is no indication they’d betray her by writing her as the child victim of a male suitor. In fact she only meets Alucard in the final few seconds of the season and the two do not even speak a single word to one another.
Now let’s remember the games had a five year time skip. The show only needs two years to get Maria to the adult age of 18, but assuming the follow through with the timeline and go for the full five?
Maria will be 21.

Are you telling me a 21 year old woman is not old or mature enough to make her own decisions? How is this not a total infantilization of women? Do you think a 21 year old badass vampire hunter needs protection from the ace depressed dhampir boy who just wants to sleep and has in no way tried to pursue her until after she expressed consistent and persistent interest in him?
It is not “grooming” to meet someone when they were younger and then meet them again years later as an adult. That’s a thing that happens! In real life! Adults can still make decisions for themselves! It is only grooming if Alucard behaved in a way that would manipulate teen Maria and put her under his control and authority before she can consent. There is no indication that Alucard in the show is going to do this. And yet the fandom is basically demanding it by saying he should make her “his baby girl”?
And what of Maria’s feelings in all this? She just lost her mother and was betrayed by her father shortly after discovering he even existed. She has lived her whole life without a father. She is in no desperate need of a new one. And if she does need a family member, she already has one! Richter is 19 and is her trusted adoptive brother. Why wouldn’t she go to him over a total stranger she just met and who is half vampire - literally a predator creature that feeds on humans!?
Yeah, hi, Richter Belmont still exists. He and Maria consider each other family. Why would you want her relying on a strange man she just met as a “father figure” rather than her trusted and loving brother?
Have none of you even considered how Maria would feel if Alucard even tried to fill the paternal role? He’d have to force it on her through manipulation and coercion. No way she would want to view him that way. Especially considering she is 16 and likely to be as attracted to the sparkly 20 year old looking sculpted marble beauty as anyone else!
Don’t mind the beautiful eternally young man who looks made of pure porcelain and light. No teen girl has ever been attracted to this, right? No way it could be exploitative and creepy for him to present himself as her new daddy, giving himself authority and influence over her as his child to mold as he wishes, right? Oh yeah, this is MUCH better than Maria pursuing him of her own volition once she becomes an adult, right guys?
We are truly in the stupidest dark timeline.
Frankly, I don’t care if Netflix has them get together or not. They would work just fine as friends too. I just sure as hell hope they’ll ignore the fans clamoring for a creepy daddy/daughter dynamic. Dressing it up as “concern” won’t hide that for some it’s a fetish, and for others they’re just useful idiots who haven’t thought it through.
I implore you to think it through.

Hector and Isaac reacting to their S/O’s death
(This is a long one, strap in folks!)
Hector:
It was just like any other evening. Hector was at the forge, sending the night creatures out the window one by one.
His S/O had left for the nearest village earlier in the day, and he was beginning to get antsy.
He decided to take a walk through the castle to clear his head.
He was meandering around the war hall when the door burst open, and in rode a vampire on his horse — the lookout.
He says a mob from the local village is approaching the castle.
Dracula’s troops stand guard at the door, ready to meet the attacking force. Hector hangs back, curious to see what’s going on.
In the distance, he could see them emerging from the surrounding darkness. The tiny flickers of red light from their torches grew stronger as the villagers marched closer.
Hector squinted to better see the mob. They were carrying something heavy.
He was shoved aside as the vampires surged forward to attack the villagers, who — despite their rage-powered determination — didn’t stand much of a chance.
Hector stumbled down the front steps just as the last few had fallen. During the fight, the attackers had set down that strange thing they were carrying.
Now he saw what it was. A wooden cross, staked to the ground, and tied to it was his lover.
His legs almost gave out from under him, but he caught himself.
“What are you doing?! They’re hurt, get them down from there!”
Isaac helped him cut the ropes with his dagger.
His S/O crumpled into his arms as they lowered them to the ground
He pleaded with them to wake up, and finally, their eyelids lifted under the dirt that was caked into their eyelashes
“I’m sorry… Hector, I just — eugh, wanted to h-help… They knew I c-came from the castle…”
Their eyes closed again, and their head lolled to the side.
He screamed, burying his face in their blood-soaked shirt, searching for a heartbeat, a sign — anything. But it was too late.
He buried them next to the woods by the castle, the grave marker he adorned with flowers.
Everyday after that he’d visit, leaving gifts and bringing some of his pets. He knows his S/O would love their company.
It was late one night when he was plagued with loneliness when he ventured out to the grave.
Before he knew what he was doing, he was digging up the body and carrying it to the forge.
He thought that maybe, he could bring them back to life as he does with animals.
The blue light hovered over the corpse, transforming it. Hector stopped when he saw how his lover’s limbs were twisted, teeth and horns formed on their face.
Hector realized they’d end up just like any other night creature, and he couldn’t stand that.
He put them back in the ground, and retreated into the castle.
Isaac:
Isaac had been looking after his S/O for a while. They were very sick and not getting much better.
It was one of those days where they were stuck in bed, and Isaac decided to stay with them.
He had turned away to get a new washcloth for their forehead, dipping it in cold water.
There was a cough, “Isaac, I just wanted to say that—“ Another cough, “I love you.”
“Don’t say that,” He replied, wringing out the cloth, “You’re not on your deathbed, not yet.”
It was a few days later, when he’d gotten busy with work that one of the guards came to deliver a message.
He was rushed into his S/O’s room, where he found them laying unmoving and deathly pale on the thin mattress.
He made no movement towards the bed. Only once the guards had left did he cradle his lover’s body close, pressing his forehead against theirs.
His S/O’s body was ceremoniously cremated, and their ashes were kept on a table in Isaac’s room; in a simple urn.
He went about his business as usual, but he never looked at the urn. Not once.
“You’re quite good at hiding your grief, you know,” Dracula said to him one night in his study, “But you don’t have to. I know how much you loved them.”
There was a pause, “There is no such thing as love in this world,” Isaac began to walk towards the door. “Oh, but there is, Isaac. It is just ripped away from you in the cruelest of ways… You and I both know that well.”
Isaac retreated to this room and the first thing he did was stand in front of the urn.
This was it. The person that his world revolved around… right here, in this clay jar.
He lifted the lid. They weren’t even a comprehensible being anymore. His lover had been here the whole time, watching him from this table; staring at him with eyes that didn’t exist anymore.
No matter what lies he kept telling himself, he did love them. He braced against the table as if the thoughts were weights pushing down on his head.
And Isaac cried.

If you notice, there are no other half-vampires like Alucard.
Which makes sense if you think about it, you're an immortal vampire who can be killed by the sun and you end up finding out that you can see other vampires with the same abilities with the difference that they cannot die from the sun.
Clearly you wouldn't want to create another supernatural race that could literally make you extinct.
I don't know if only Dracula could have children or other vampires can too but nobody knew about that, but surely yes

It was a stormy day, every limp of yours screamed for you to stop running. To stop running from the place you once called your home. The place you had to leave behind and never return to ever again. A horrible fate met your family, the bishop had found out about your powers and decided to, not only have you but your family as well,be burned at the stake. Using your newly found powers you created a bubble around your family members to protect them from the mob whilst.you were out searching for berries and perhaps even a bunny to cook into a stew. You see, your family wasn't even a part op the city of Cordova. You lived in the woods, surrounded by nature holding everything you needed to live. So when you saw all animals running away from your childhood home you thought of the worst. And you were right... the moment you approached the old wooden house you saw the flames taking over the trees near-by. You weren't prepared for this! The bubbles you put around your beloved family members were created to keep the towns people from taking them to the stake but instead they turned your lovely home into the stake and burned your family alive. You were unable to do anything. Lost in grief and anger towards the town of Cordova you put a spell upon them. Nobody of the residents were to never be able to pass the city walls nor would they be able to ever feel the strong warmth of a fire ever again. The city of Cordova was damned to be a ghost city, they would either freeze to death during the night or the winter cold or they would starve to their deaths. You couldn't care less for you were to be long gone before all of that could take place.
You were wandering around in the woods, not knowing, nor caring, where you went. You just wanted to be as far away from the Cordovanians as possible. On your journey away from all those horrible memories of your family's burned corpses, your father holding your mother and siblings protectively in his arms as to protect them from the burning pain of the fire but failing miserably. You were lost in thought, not realizing the forest scenery around you changed until a huge shadow fell over you. Looking up you saw a giant, black castle with multiple towers, standing out from the actual castle. Wondering why such a beautiful building would be left abandoned next to the old Belmont estate. Walking around the castle you pick up a disgusting smell. Like a rotting animal or mold. As you arrive at the front doors of the castle you see two dead bodies. One of a woman and one of a man. Both rotting for at least 2 Weeks already. Wondering as to what these two innocent looking humans did to meet such a fate you knocked on the castle doors. Hoping that the host would be more welcoming towards your presence than the last visitors. Knocking a second time you worried that the host had met the same fate as the two up front. The door, opening on its own ,inviting you in. Looking around you realised that no one was around. Your body, screaming for any sign of human interaction ,decided to look trough the castles rooms. You found a library, a study, multiple conference rooms and a kitchen but no sign of any living creature that could roam these halls. Going further into the castle you started to hear weeping and cries. Wanting to comfort that being you started following the sounds and ended up in what.looked like a teenagers room. It was demolished, the bed was broken and the window was in shards on the burned wooden floor. There you found him. A man with long blond hair and pale skin, crying, weeping. He needed you, he knew that, but he didn't dare have anybody come close to him like that again. He couldn't have his heart broken like that again. *Never* again. Bit the way you looked at him. The grief and sadness I your eyes. He knew it just too well, for he felt the same way. The handsome stranger asked your name "(Y/N)" you said "People call me the scarlet witch". "A witch?" He asked. "I never thought to come across one of your kind. How peculiar" the male looked you up and down. Checking if you had any weapon on you. "My name is Allucard" he finally states. "That mustn't be your real name, is it?" You asked, curious as to why he would go by a name so similar to the vampire kings sons battle name. "You're a smart one, aren't you (Y/N)" Allucard asked, stepping evern closer to you. The fear and sadness that you saw in his eyes earlier now gone and replaced with emptiness. His eyes were blank, staring into your soul as if he wanted to figure something out about you. "My actual name is Adrian Fahrenheit Tepes" he finally states. "Now you tell me, what is it you are looking for here? The tokens of Draculas castle? The knowledge of the belmont hold? Tell me witch, what are you here for?", " I am looking for shelter" you lied. The rain didn't matter to you. You would be able to stop it from raining. Adrian knew you were lying. He looked at you skeptically. "OK fine, I am here because the castle was enticing to me, it felt as if it was pulling me to it. I have no where to go, no family to love, no house to live. Even if you were to kill me, no one would notice. On the contrary, the people of Cordova would thank you, for they wanted me dead for ages now. Do as you please with me Tepes, no-one is here to stop you. But I trust you and your good heart to not hurt someone who hasn't hurt you. I can see your hurt, the trials you've been put through. But I can also see the good in you. You're not a monster, you are a son. One who lost all, got some love and then those who provided it left you alone again. You did not deserve the fate you have been given Adrien Tepes, yet here you are, living still, in solitude with two human corpses put on spears on your porch." Adrian looked shocked. How did you know so much. He hadn't told you. Had he? Confusion and adoration rose in him. "Tell me, how do you know ow that?" " I don't know. It's part of my powers I presume. I cannot controll weather or not I wish to see it. I just do. I'm sorry if I made you feel uncomfortable." But you didn't. You made him feel understood nut uncomfortable, you made him feel loved nit unwanted like his last visitors he knew, you would never betray him. You would stay with him. You wouldn't hurt him. And he was right. You had no intend in hurting him. You wanted for him to feel save, loved and wanted when he was with you. That's all you ever wanted for him. And it's all he ever wanted for you. As the years went on Adrien and you got closer to each other and started dating. Adrien and you both have never felt more loved or happier than the times you were close to each other. Everybody who saw you knew exactly that you were in love. Even Trevor knew (and we all know how dense himbo man can be) and constantly teased Adrian about it. Bit he didn't mind for he knew that belmont was right. He did love you more than anything and finally he could understand the hatred his father felt when they took his mother from him. For the humans never left you alone. The vampire-human-hybrid and the witch that was supposed to rule over the multiverse were a topic at every get together. But after the first few abductions everybody knew not to mess with the couple. For everyone who dared to touch the other one has never seen the light of day again. And a couple of those abductions might have almost caused one or two universes to collapse... ;-;
