Where Every Scroll is a New Adventure
I really wanna read the legacy of gods series but I'm not sure š«
I heard the plot is beautiful and when I see fanart from nikobran, I'm almost just downloading their book on my kindle but I don't know if I can start random in the Rina Kent Universe.
anyone tips? š
Before you read, you have to realize that all people are different and haveĀ distinct styles. But hereās my recommendations.
Start Writing
I do not suggest start writing your book without planningĀ what I have meant by this was start writing downĀ your ideas.Ā
What I did was I took a blank notebook and started writing pages upon pages on my world, characters, plot and story. It took me a few months to finish but finally I was finished and ready to start my draft.Ā
You can do it in your own way. Perhaps on a computer, maybe on a chart, or not at all. But I highly recommend planning your novel, it could be much easier to write and finish it.
(But seriously, if your writing a fantasy or science fiction book and your characters are going to be traveling a lot, then create a map. It will be SO helpful!)Ā
Characters
You may not need to plan your plot your story but your world, and your characters need to be thought out. Especially your characters, your world just needs some major details written down if your not going in depth with it but your characters for any genre need to be planned.
You may have to rewrite whole chapters because you messed up your characters personality. Your characters may not be consistent or may be flat. Try character questionnaires and writing the important details of their past and personality.
(Also, make sure you keep the physical attributes of your characters the same throughout the book)
Have your Genre and your Story in MindĀ
You canāt just start writing a chapter when you have no idea what your about to write. That is ridiculous, and your probably never going to get your novel done this way.
I suggest writing in a genre you love, one you adore reading. It can be more fun and enjoyable. You shouldnāt be complaining. You love it, why not write it?
Donāt start writing with no idea of a story. Even people who donāt plan their novel know the general direction they want to go, so should you. It will be much easier to write, and less likely of a boring story and writers block.Ā
Theme
If you want a theme to your novel, itās best to know it before you start writing. Otherwise it will be inconstant, and it couldĀ make your book seem out of place.Ā
Anyway thatās all I have (thatās all I felt like writing today). Have a FANTASTIC day, and happy authoring!š
This is Day 5 of ABC Warrior Cats. For the letter E I did Echosong. The SkyClan medicine cat in the gorge. I didnāt like her character in Firestars quest, but when I read SkyClans destiny I liked her a lot better. Anyway I hope you like her!
This isn't LMK related so if you're on my page for that then you can scroll along!
This is Nyx from the upcoming book "Mark Unfit" and I legit forgot to post my art of MU so far but... That can come with time... Anyways! I hope our second most important character from our book interests you, trust me when I say that it's going to be a long ride before the book is out. (Once I get the outline fully rewritten, I will start on an actual series you can watch.) I would like to state that the first image is the one I'm going to be redrawing, it was a palette swap with the main character (no spoilers) and was... half-assed... to say the least.
what if blackjack in the pjo show was voiced by Ryan Reynolds
Itās fun being in a fandom that literally doesnāt exist
If there is anybody out there that enjoys the book series Upside Down Magic by Sarah Mlynowski, Lauren Myracle, and Emily Jenkins, please please make yourself known because I have been alone for too long

I've been curious about the Mortal Instruments' characters' heights, so I did some "research" and calculations and this is the result. Posting this for your fanfiction purposes or whatever.
Magnus- 187cm/6'1" Alec- 183cm/6' Jace- 180cm/5'11" (well he's shorter than I imagined) Simon- 178cm/5'10" Izzy- 175cm/5'9" (wow I'm jealous) Raphael- 158cm/5'2" (aww he's so small and lol I'm 158cm too) Clary- 157cm/5'2" (lol at least I'm taller than her)
The Trials of Apollo by Rick Riordian
Sometimes I get the sudden urge to reread a series from when I was younger and sometimes the book is not immediately available to me so by the time I get the books the feeling is gone and I no longer feel nostalgic and so I donāt reread the books.
āSheās looking around the blanket in disbelief, and Iām a little in disbelief myself for a second.
Mother nature seems to love her just as much as I do because the sky is now the prettiest shade of pink and orange, like sheās the sun the sky is choosing to set behind.ā
āShe stands out in a way no rambunctious crowd or stuffy room could hold back.
She is the room.
Sheās the diamond chandelier people awe at.ā
āThatās the thing with Sam, I donāt need words. I never need words from him because his actions speak loud enough. They do all the talking for him, they always have.ā
if youāre a fan of romance dramas that contain relatable topics but with a much needed healthy balance of comedic relief, love, and friendship, please give my book a chance<3
it is a romance drama book series that follows the lives and love stories of eight childhood best friends. tropes and dynamics range from:
grumpy x sunshine, i hate everyone but you, four core female group, brotherās best friend, secret relationships, small town romance, found family, childhood best friends to lovers, itāll always be/itāll never be you, sapphic romance, slow burn romance, forbidden romance, one bed trope, and more!
this is my first time tackling a fictional universe and characters like this as a self-published indie author. itās been the most fun, fictional adventurous learning experience ever<3
iāve always loved romance and writing. i love creating characters. i love being able to give them a story, name, personality, etc. not to sound dramatic, but itās truly the most magical experience.
i just finished the second novel which should be out before the end of this yearš§”š§š¦š

Stop whitewashing Holly Short
I feel like I have to have this talk somewhere outside my head.
I, a 14 year old teenager of color, have always loved Holly Short.
She was described as powerful, with features like a hooked nose, and a dark skin, that made her beautiful. Things that I have always been insecure about, teased for, insulted for, were what made her beautiful.
The powerful woman, who fought sexism and always did the right thing, IMMEDIATELY became my comfort character.
I started to feel better about myself. Draw portraits with my favourite features in my self exaggerated in them. I loved my own features, because she had them.
And then, after reading the whole series and loving it, came the thirst for content. Content in wich, Holly Short, was always whitwashed.
So many fanart, official comics, covers, the goddamn movie! In all of them, Holly wasn't how i imagined her to be. The fact punches me every time. Her skin, her features, are FLAWS that people just prefer to erase from her character.
I still remember how sad i got when i first was raving to a friend about Holly and she said 2 my face how she thought she would be prettier if she were white.
Whitewashing Holly is basically saying the same thing.
Many may go, "whatever, who gives a shit about her color".
But things like this are what make teenagers, kids, like me back at the time, insecure and hating themselves because of simply simply being born the way they are born.
Hello all, I want to introduce a book series I'm writing called Tales From The Twelve Gods.
As of now, I'm already working on book 2 and editing book 1.
The series follows Bael, a Vessel for the God of Corruption, as he embarks on a quest to kill the Ruler of Birds, a demigod of Life who has waged war and taken control of the oceans in its entirety.
The story definitely is more in depth with that, but I'd like to keep the synopsis on the down low for a little longer.
I hope you enjoy the snippet I've attached below :)
Mwah, love you all
__
Once upon a time, eleven gods sat upon their thrones, far and deep amongst the cosmos, where humanity would never touch.
There were the twins, Life and Death.
The siblings: Feast, Corruption, Sky, Earth, Power, and Truth.
The two young lovers, Light and Dark.
And the child of the lovers, Love itself.
Their thrones sat infinitely high, the perfect size for each and every member of the universe, as they created what they wanted, and looked down as it became its own, curious and yearning to learn more. While they knew everything before, they did not know everything after. The future was a mystery, even to the last god that was born, Time.
It came to Death as she watched Sky create a star. A ball of fire and magic that gave Light immense happiness. It was a gift. Death wanted to destroy his gift. The happiness that was granted to his friend made him sick. So, when he was alone, he made a new friend. And then he called him Time. He told Time to destroy the star, and so he did. Death had convinced Time that he could not exist without him, and that he must do everything for him.
Time listened.
And, well, history tells the rest.
Of the twelve gods that sit upon the cosmos, in a place that humanity could never touch

This is the very short intro, and I may attach the prologue soon if this is liked.
Can't wait to share more š„°
...Iāve got some ideas! (This ended up kind of long...oops)
Okay, so the six books in the Enola Holmes series cover events over one year. I donāt think the movie will cover nearly that much time, so I think it will cover only the case from the first book (The Case of the Missing Marquess) and then it will end with the resolution from the sixth book in the series - perhaps with scenes from the other books sprinkled in.
Thereās also going to be a number of things that are different from the books - in the books, Enola is not trained to fight, while in the movie she clearly is. In the books, Enola and her mother are not that close, but in the movie they clearly are - although, giving Helena Bonham Carter more screen time is certainly not something Iād complain about. Another major thing that might have plot ramifications is that in the books, Enola runs away before Mycroft can send her off to boarding school. Meanwhile, the trailer clearly shows scenes of Enola at boarding school, so the means of her escape are going to be different in the movie.
In the books, The Case of the Missing Marquess is actually one of the simplest that Enola solves - probably because itās the first book, and so a great deal of it is taken up with exposition rather than mystery-solving. In the movie, I expect theyāll change that up and make the case more complicated and dramatic. Viscount Tewksbury (i.e. the marquess who went missing), who is introduced in the trailer as a blond teenager on a train, plays a very minor role in the books - also, in the books, heās twelve. The trailer suggests that his role will be significantly expanded in the movie.
One thing that did bother me a bit about the trailer is that Enola disguises herself as a boy in it. There is nothing inherently wrong with that, but in the books, she makes it a bit of a point of pride that she never disguises herself as male - for a couple reasons: one, she knows it is what her brothers will expect her to do, and she is trying to hide from them; and two, in the many ridiculous accoutrements of female fashion, Enola conceals money, candies, other bits and bobs, and her knife.Ā In the books, Enola disguises herself as a widow, a nun, a secretary, an assistant, a scholar woman, a street-seller, an orphan girl, and, as shown in the trailer, a high-born lady. I think it will be something of a pity if the movie forgoes all those many disguises and uses only the disguises of a boy and a lady.
Also, in the books, Enola is largely solitary and mostly works alone, though she occasionally teams up with Sherlock. The movie, it seems, will be giving her some companions. I think that will be fun, but it will kind of reduce one of the booksā main arcs - that Enola can and will do very well on her own.
All in all, I think the movie will be fun to watch and will stay true to the spirit of the books, but the plot of the mystery will be different than anything already present in print. I think it probably would have been more effective to make this a TV series in order to cover more of the story and character development, but whatās done is done. I think the actors will do a marvelous job - I am really looking forward to how Millie Bobby Brown and Henry Cavill portray Enolaās and Sherlockās sibling relationship.
Some scenes that I hope would show up in the movie in one form or another, but that I think will probably get left out:
when Florence Nightingale gives Sherlock Holmes a piece of her mind
when Enola bursts into Dr. Watsonās home looking for help dressed as a nun and covered in blood, and Watson and Holmes think that she is injured until she whips a bloody knife out of her bodice
when Enola hides from her brother in his own flat, knowing it is the last place he would think to look (actually, I think this one might very well show up in the movie - at 1:00 in the trailer looks like it could be the scene I am referring to, but I canāt tell for sure)
when Enola throws a cat at Sherlock in order to create a distraction and slip out unnoticed
when Enola bumps into Mycroft and kicks him in the shin to get away
when John Watson tells Enola (while she is disguised) that he is worried for Sherlock, as he seems quite distressed over his missing sister
When Mycroft and Sherlock post an ad in the classifieds asking Enola to come home, and she replies: To M.H. and S.H. Rot. E.H.
When Mycroft bursts in to stop a wedding, claiming the bride is an imposter, and Enola rips off her veil, shouts at him, throws off the dress and runs out the door
(also, try this link to download an EPUB copy of that second book, The Case of the Left-Handed Lady.)
I read the Enola Holmes series in one afternoon like two years ago, and I really enjoyed it! Iām excited for this movie. Iām sure some things that I liked in the books will be missing, since thatās just the way of movies, but I really think Iām going to like this movie anyway!
Iām gonna re-read the series before I watch it though.Ā
(Also Henry Cavill is playing Sherlock?? So Superman is joining Iron Man and Dr.Strange in being Sherlock Holmes and I think thatās fun)
