Young Justice x Encanto: Og 6’s Reactions to Watching Encanto
*In my alternative universe, Superboy and Wally have returned after S4
-Conner/Superboy would definitely relate to Mirabel since S1 him wanted Superman to recognize him, and he was very insecure about his lack of having all of Superman’s powers.
-He would feel bad for Mirabel and probably tear up at “Waiting for a Miracle.”
-Camilo would be Wally and Dick’s favorite character since he’s them if they had M’gann’s shapeshifting power.
-Mirabel would remind M’gann of herself back in S1.
-M’gann thinks about bioship whenever she sees Casita.
-Artemis would be reminded of her and Jade’s relationship (pre S4) when watching Isabela and Mirabel’s interactions.
-Kaldur would relate to Luisa and to her song “Surface Pressure.”
-Almost everyone would dislike Isabela and Abuela 10 minutes into the movie.
-Dick’s comment toward Isabela, “I knew she gave me bad vibes. She controls plants like Ivy.”
-Everyone would be upset with the family for leaving Mirabel out of the photo, especially Conner, M’gann, and Artemis.
-Antonio is instant best boy in the group’s eyes.
-Artemis sees Antonio as Lian.
-Wally and Dick laugh at the dancing donkeys in Luisa’s song.
-Wally’s reaction to seeing Bruno’s room, “Even I’m getting tired looking at those stairs.”
- Dick and Artemis are impressed by Mirabel’s parkour skills. Dick, “For someone with no training, she’s doing pretty good.” Artemis, “And people say she doesn’t have a gift.”
-Everyone has their “oh shit” face when seeing Mirabel on the prophecy tablet.
-No one is not jamming to “We Don’t Talk About Bruno.”
-M’gann finds Pepa and Felix’s relationship cute.
-Camilo’s part is Dick and Wally’s favorite part.
-Dick and Wally after hearing why everyone dislikes Bruno, “He’s literally just the messenger,” “And of course you’re going to lose your hair, male-pattern baldness is common in your 50s.”
-Constant cringing and laughing during the engagement dinner.
-Wally’s joke, “This is a worse disaster than our first missions.”
-All six of them are in the “Protect Bruno” club.
-M’gann almost cries seeing Bruno’s plate carving and his view of the dinner table. She wants to give him a big hug.
-Everyone agrees that Isabela’s redemption was not as well done, but still feel bad for her because of the arranged marriage.
-Kaldur would also relate to Isabela’s song “What Else Can I Do?” since he feels pressured to be perfect.
-The hate for Abuela grows after her outburst.
-Cheered for Mirabel when she defended herself.
-Casita’s “death” dropped the mood down fast.
-Artemis and M’gann cried at Pedro’s death because it reminded them of their partner’s “death”. Their spouses were on comfort patrol.
-The group have slightly forgiven Abuela for her actions.
-Mirabel getting her doorknob got everyone in the feels.
-All agree that the new family photo was way better than the other one.
Overall, everyone would really like this movie.
I’ve seen this theory that Pedro reincarnated as Casita, and I am currently reading a story with Pedro as Casita. I enjoy this theory since I find it sweet that the miracle gave Pedro a chance to be with his family in some ways. Also, thinking of Pedro and Mirabel having a special connection when Abuela was being harsh towards her kind of comforts me. It’s hard to explain.
And the scene with Casita protecting the family feels more powerful considering Casita as Pedro imo.
Casita as their own being isn’t bad though. I just don’t have much interest in it than the former.
Overall, Casita is an A tier character.
Let me know your thoughts.

Abuela Alma: What became more clear as you got older?
Bruno: Why the Grinch wanted to live alone with his dog.
bueno, subo lo último en material que tengo de bruno antes de que se me olvide jsjs

Bruno's sacrifice au.
In this au the family flees much later in life when the triplets are around fourteen. Julieta is so sick she can't move or even open her eyes. Pepa has horrendous sunburns and is constantly crying from the pain. Alma isn't strong enough to carry them both and is begging Pedro to take the kids and run while he tries to carry them all.
And then Bruno does the unthinkable, he goes to the guards hands in the air, defenceless, only hoping to slow them down. The combined grief of his family and his sacrifice allow the miracle to happen and in this version gifts are much less doled out, Pedro believes his son died because the cowards of the village refused to help and insists that his daughters and later grandchildren only use them in exchange for profit and dislikes "giving handouts to the unworthy" He is extraordinary protective of Mirabel and built her her own room insisting she is a sign that the townsfolk are unworthy of the families help. It is only after they come together that Pedro acknowledges his grief and begins to befriend the others.
Mirabel, rushes in panicking. "On no on no no no no"
Augustin "Mijita what's wrong?"
Mirabel, sobbing "I messed up, I messed up so bad!"
Luisa "I'm on it just show me the body and I'll take care of it."
Mirabel "But.."
Pepa "Shh shh darling, Tia will wash away all the evidence."
Antonio, smiling, surround by pigs "Did you know my friends can consume every part of a human other than teeth and hair."
Isa, very matter of fact, "We can bury those in my room."
Dolores, slyly "From what I've been hearing this person was planning to leave the encanto in secret for awhile now."
Camilo, shifting into multiple people "And trust me, we can make that bealivable."
Julieta, reassuringly "And if anyone asks you with me all day helping make Gelatina Negra okey."
Felix, happily "But trust me no one will ask."
Bruno, simply "And if bad comes to worst pin the blame on me, I'm already old and hated, plus everyone thinks I killed that goldfish."
Mirabel "I didn't kill anyone! I accidentally broke a hole in Casita!"
Alma "Then get the spackle and stop forcing us to come up with plans on the spot."
(The ghost of Pedro is laughing his ass off.)
Random bystander "Why is Augustine refusing to sit down?"
Antonio "Abuelita was telling everyone about how Abuelito's favorite thing to do with her was carry her around, even when she was pregnant, so then Mariano decided to pick up Dolores and spin her around and they got all lovey dovey. Then papa lifted mama up over her head and made her smile so then Camilo showed off that he could pick up Mirabel and rock her, after that Luisa came by and picked up me Tio Bruno and Isa, not to show off, she didn't know what was going on she was carrying a dresser with one hand and we were standing in the way."
Bystander "Okay but...?"
Antonio "So Tio Augustine tried to pick up Tia Julietta but while he was walking he fell into a beehive and while being chased ran to water... A jellyfish sting him on the butt."
Bystander "Ah"
Antonio "But Don't worry Tia is making nachos!"
I’m still here and I have a strong need to yap
How many people are still in the Encanto fandom? Show of hands! (Cause it's kinda hard to find people, that I don't already know, that are still in the fandom)
PROSHIP DNI WITH THIS POST AND F*CK OFF!
I’m really hoping that Disney does a encanto tv series
Three younglings hatching from a single egg is a Miracle.
Pepa of the Flame is fierce and feared. She knows the names of not less than seven elemental spirits. Cross with her and your house will be flooded, your crop will wither and your cattle will be hit by lightning on a sunny day.
Julieta the Healer is kind and wise. She cares for witches, animals and humans alike. Her knowledge of healing herbs and potent potions is unparalleled. (Some whisper she can even recover the dead, if offered the right reward.)
A male witch is a rarity, dreaded by humans and despised by their own kin. Bruno the Witcher disguises himself as a magician; you can find him on market squares, where he tells stories through colourful illusions. Be warned! He is said to have the inner eye - by mere touch he can see into your soul and read your fate.
(A witch-mother is expected to dispose of any male offsprings, but Alma the Moth couldn't lose her miracle and raised her three children in secret. When she was found out, the young witches fled together to the human's world.)
Brunito 💕
Many people on this new fandom have the audacity of demonizing Alma without even trying to look deeper into her story. Tell me, have any of you:
•Had your hometown burned to the ground and escaping within an inch of your life. Probably lost the rest of your family to the flames?
•Ran into the wild unknown for weeks while making sure your newborn triplets are all fed and healthy while constantly checking your surroundings and provisions, having little to no sleep?
•Had the love of your life stabbed to death in front of your eyes and being physically incapable of doing something, not only for the mere shock, but also to protect the lives of your children?
•Been saved by a miracle out of nowhere, and whoops! You, a newly widowed with 3 children, are now the chosen leader of a community of hundreds of terrified people?
•Had no option to give your beloved a proper funeral? Had no way to express your grief, pain or fear for the responsibility and image bestowed upon you can't allow any cracks? EVERY. SINGLE. THING. YOU. DO. is going to affect the people around you. You're the one that holds the magical candle. You have to be strong, for everyone, for the people, and for your offsprings
•Had no idea how to relate or help your magical 5yo, having no other guide but your gut instinct? Consider:
-One of your daughters can't feel negative emotions, otherwise someone will get struck by lightning. Better to teach her to repress feelings
-Your son seems to predict only bad things. Self-explanatory why people doesn't like him. Also, he strongly resembles your dead husband
-Your other daughter now has to wake up before the sun rises to make tons of healing food. There's no break, and you can't stop her from helping people. Why would the miracle give them gifts, if not for aid the community?
•Wrongly believe that your family's role in life, the only reason you were saved, was for helping others; and slowly accommodate and settle in that lifestyle. Silently burying your troubles behind a smile. Years start passing by, your daughters get married and you get grandchildren. The town gets bigger. Everyone has to work harder for things to go smooth
•Suddenly had one of your granddaughters turn up giftless. Why? What does this mean? The people are panicked, you're at lost of what to do. You can't move, just like that time many years ago. You ask your Brunito, the only sort of lead you have for an explanation, and he disappears, not even saying goodbye.
•Feel like you have to make up for it, like this is your mistake. You already lost your husband and son. You're not going to lose anyone else. You have to take control.
•No idea what to make of Mirabel. She made the candle flicker. Could she be a threat to the magic, to the family, to Encanto? It can't be, she's innocent, isn't she? But Luisa loses her gift. But the marriage proposal is ruined. But you finally get the explanation you asked ten years ago. But the cracks are appearing everywhere around Casita. But Isabella's plants invade town in middle of making amends with the Guzmán. But her perfect grandchild is a mess. Once again everything is chaos, and you're angry
No, you haven't, and it shows.
Does it justify the harsh treatment at Mirabel? No. Neither does it justify your attempts to dehumanise her.
Recently I've seen some posts with ideas for a Coco-Encanto crossover. It gave me inspiration for making one of my own:
After Un Poco Loco was released, it became a huge success (not as big as Remember Me, mind you) which left Ernesto and Héctor with quite the amount of money. While Ernesto went to buy a big mansion for himself, Héctor decided to save half of it and spent the rest in a simple wedding & honeymoon with Imelda. Where did they go? A Colombia tierra querida, por supuesto! Let's say they were given a tour of all thermal floors and one day when Imelda was buying gifts for her family, she met Alma. What's to happen between two newlywed women? A wholesome friendship, of course (low-key with Pedro's lyrics and Héctor's melodies Dos Orugitas may have come to life, but we're focusing on the wives here). When the honeymoon was over, they became pen-pals, exchanging recipes, chismecito and pregnancy tips, but suddenly...the letters stopped coming, and Héctor left.
I know this is where everything falls apart bc the triplets are 50 and Mama Coco is 108, but ignore that detail plz
Cut to El Día de Muertos 50 years later, Mamá Imelda asks 16 years old Miguel (he was 12 in 2017) to please find whatever happened with her old friend. When Miguel and little Coco (I actually can't find a reason for letting a minor travel travel to another with his 5yo baby sister, but why not) finally find Encanto, the town has no idea what to make of the newcomers. Can they let them in? Can they let them go and risk to be exposed? The answer will lie on the Madrigal family.
I'd like it to be a story of both personal growth and Miguel and Mirabel falling in love, but I'm not sure how to make it work.
Let me know what you think!
The last two panels just hit different.
They were told how beautiful it is to got a miracle and make it looks so dreamy, but the truth is more ugly and brutal.
She lost the love of her life that night and then got pressured to lead the whole village without time for grieving.
And they said it’s a kids movie.
How It Was Told / How It Happened
au where at some point before canon camilo notices abuela being mean to mirabel and is like oh you're mad mirabel didn't get a gift? *shape shifts* were both mirabel. im mirabel two now. good luck telling us apart.
the first week he adults are like haha very funny. the second week abuela is like stop this nonsense and use your gift properly to help people. camilo doubles down on his helping mirabel is helping people policy and mirabel starts answering to camilos name to help the subterfuge.
week three, camilo has explained to julietta, and operation "two giftless mirabels" has pepa start snapping back at alma because there's a fifty fifty chance that whichever kid her mom was just mean to was hers.
the other kids start noticing that camilo doesn't have to do chores with his powers because no one knows which one is camilo. this, they decide, isn't fair. camilo explains that he would be helping around town as mirabel, but no one is letting mirabel help because no powers. luisa and dolores think this is dumb, and isabela wants to see where this goes. they stage a mutiny. none of the madrigal younger generation will do magic chores now. they still help around town, but with things they are arguably not very good at.
”luisa can you pen the donkeys?"
"oh no, were on strike until mirabel has equal rights. I can send isabela to do it, though."
"dolores can you tell me how far out my husband is from town?"
dolores can both hear and guesstimate distance. she spends an hour and a half going to where said husband is and comes back to report how many steps that was/ how long it took her. "probably less now because I had to come back."
alma: julieta you cannot possibly approve.
julieta: they're broadening their horizons and standing up for their family
alma: ...who is cooking dinner, julieta.
*several loud crashes and the smell of smoke make it evident that agustine is currently running the kitchen*
julieta: my wonderful husband volunteered to give me a break for the evening
it doesn't take a full month for alma to throw up her hands and let the kids organize themselves if they're so determined to undermine her. it takes less than two weeks after that for camilo to start being camilo again
If you had to choose one ☝️ of the madrigal gifts to have for a week which one would you choose. 🎊🌟
