venti and xiao... hm living with them is ... how do i explain, one is bright as day and one is quiet as night. Your relationship is the same one moment being dragged by the bard that is named venti the other moment is a shared silence with a adepti.

they love you equally as much, one is a archon while the other is a adepti. Life with them is something you possibly cannot get bored of, although sometimes its tiring

They definitely would argue about who spends more time with you (they ended up keeping a system where one day you're with venti the other with xiao and the rest of the days you hang out with both of them, unless they have duties to attend to. Then they will give you a note ahead of time and make up for the lost time later.

Okay now listen, you better know how to cook BECAUSE THE KITCHEN IS A MESS. VENTI. CAN ABSOLUTELY. N O T COOK. and xiao only knows one dish sooo unless you want to starve I recommend learning cooking [or get delivery food]

if it's modern au xiao would be the introverted emo and venti would be the guitarist that sings in the street, you all probably met while xiao was at a coffee shop where venti sang ever so often. It was a awkward first encounter but you started seeing them more and more!

You guys definitely have dates that are mostly indoor like gaming, a guitar lesson by the amazing venti or trying to bake!

I was just playing honkai and thought of this,, pt.1 venti, diluc and xiao

Venti

— the first time he saw Wendy his reaction was to point out how similar they look

— the chat and venti want Wendy playable but rip Wendy

— I see him as a absolute kiana/elysia main, don't know why

— gets very sad in final lesson, he's lost his friend so he knows how Kiana feels.

— he jokes around about how the company of the game hates him because they didn't reunite mei and Kiana.

— most definitely would be a veliona fan

— I see him liking bow characters in the game [reason: he has good aim]

Diluc

— He just picked the game up because he was bored usually his streams are kind of chill and more about open world rpgs

— He wanted to try out something else, The chat was full of veteran players telling him stuff to do when he was lost.

—His first ever ten pull on dorm supply was himeko and HoV

— Let's say he loved the animated cut scenes and the songs.

— Yes, he did feel sad and almost maybe even cried on stream while watching the scene of himeko dying.

— chat was definitely enjoying his suffering

— Help the poor boy, no seriously he doesn't understand the lore he's just lost

— His chat was slightly confused themselves but some were there to help him figure out how different things work and who's who.

— He genuinely loves the characters like he would whale for them if he has to.

— Loves the side sakura story, he actually really enjoyed apho too.

— Overall, he's confused but hes got the spirit!

I feel like venti would be just pointing out similarities between him and Wendy, then there's xiao who can't for the life of him understand the lore or what is happening but he can feel the depression.

Then we have diluc who just decided to pick up on honkai because he was bored and got interested in the characters story [he felt emotional seeing himeko getting killed off]

And rosaria and lisa played it because well women-i mean gameplay yes, Lisa was just interested in the mechanics while Rosaria was finding some games to play when she had time off of her work.

Jean was recommended a depression game as a break from her overworking.... (curse you lisa] anyway she really liked the game maybe even would've slightly cried getting into the lore but she got spoiled by some people.

I'll do a more detailed one but yeah

Types of dates with them <3

museum dates with albedo, it's calming and nice to have someone with you there. I feel like he would personally love places like museums!

Game dates with xiao where you both play games duh-doi. He likes to stay inside. Sometimes you both with go get drinks, maybe if he's in the mood to go out. If you do drag him he doesn't complain.

Picnic/karaoke dates with venti! He won't leave you alone till you do that with him, really clingy but he's cute so you don't mind him much, he likes making sandwiches for picnics and all :) sings his heart out in karaoke.

WAIT I HAVE SUCH A CUTE IDEA 😭 IMAGINE LIKE GENSHIN CHARACTERS LIKE TAKING IN A KID AND TAKING XARE OF THEM AND DURING ONE OF THEIR FIGHTS THE CHILD JUST LIKE COMES IN THEIR WAY AND SAYS “I'll protect you!!” HSHDNDBD THAT'S DANGEROUS BUT SHDBBD ITS SO CUTE 😭😭

If you cried he'd be there for you, if he couldn't be there physically he'd always be there with you no matter what the wind will follow you as a comforting melody.

“they aren't worth your time precious!”

He would whisper words and sing songs to make you feel better.

If they decided to reach out to you again he'll make sure they never hurt you.

He is a God after all, he doesn't want to see you being hurt he loves you too much.

He almost always accompanied you wherever you go.

You were really grateful for him, after all after such a thing happening you felt like trusting people was more complicated.

If you started being cautious of people around you and kept your information to a minimum he'd completely understand that after all, no one wants to be hurt like that again and again.

Xiao

He will make sure they stay away, he doesn't like the idea of someone who hurt you to approach you again.

Doesn't want them anywhere near you, he isn't affectionate or well knows how to. Comfort you properly so he protects you from the side lines.

If you do need a shoulder to cry on he'll be the shoulder, he knows he shouldn't get too attached but it happens after all, that's how you met someone toxic.

If you're more reserved he'll let you braid his hair or do anything to his hair just to calm you down or help you somehow.

Will try encouraging you to do the things they told you, you're bad at.

Overall he does his best to help and make you forget about those horrible human being.

Albedo

He would be confused at first I guess? He won't be sure what to do to help but will try his best, either by reassuring words like “they're horrible people they don't deserve you” or distracting you from this.

Unlike the other two he won't really try doing much to keep the person away from you unless they end up making you uncomfortable again, unlike the other two his way of thinking is that people will cross paths eventually no matter what, this is a small world after all so there is no way of stopping someone from knowing your existence as a whole.

Though of course he does care about you so he'll gently comfort you when he has the time.

Also tried encouraging you to do things you were told you're bad at doing by certain people.

He does see improvements in you overtime and sees how you overcame the barrier they made in your mind and he's really proud!!

Honestly, I don't think he has any idea what's happening until you tell him of course his first initial reaction would be to comfort you then he'll ask who it was and he honestly falls apart as he sees you crying over someone who isn't worth your time.

You need a shoulder to cry on? He's there, you need anything? He's there, you don't want to talk and prefer silence to cope? He's got it!

He truly cares for you and wants to understand you.

I honestly feel like he would just make sure you're not uncomfortable in any way.

I don't think he'll try much to keep the person away but more like keeping you away from them same thing but yes.

Overall he really wants to keep you safe and when you improve and over come these things he's going to tell you how much he's proud of you!!

You can tell I was dying while making this but yes this is technically for comfort but if you've been through toxic people I wish the best for you!! If they ever get to your mind just remember they're nothing but imbeciles!!

- xiao would feel SUPER shy

- poor boy isn’t used to any sort of pda/affection

- but i feel like the idea grows on him

stargazing with xiao, sitting atop the wangshu inn roof was almost magical. after a difficult day, this was a perfect moment. xiao can’t stop admiring you, you feel his gaze upon you. slowly, you intertwine your fingers with his. the warmth of his hand surprises you! a faint blush covers xiao face but he immediately reciprocates. you guys stayed like that for the next hour or so, relaxing in each other’s presence.

The Ambiguous State Of Tevyat

Tevyat has its own laws in a lot many contexts, but do you ever wonder, does sexism and homophobia exist in the world of tevyat and so correlating to the world of Genshin Impact? Let me know your views.

I read about that confirmation from Arcane’s creators that homophobia and sexism does not simply exist in the universe of Arcane– and I think this is one of the reasons why the representation and the character writing (women’s especially) shines in arcane. There has already been enough praise about Arcane’s writing so I won’t get into it here.

But that made me think that Is that not the perfect setting to write endearing characters in? It eliminates a much more complicated aspect and leaves you with people as an empty blank slate– whose grievances will be based on class struggle, capitalism etc– sure. But it lets everyone be just… everyone. If that makes sense. Why I also relate to that method of storytelling is because (I promise it's about genshin, wait for it) I do end up writing my stories that way– at least a lot of my characters, who have mostly deconstructed most of their ingrained prejudices by the time the story starts, so I can focus on their struggle as related to the story then.

It also got me thinking about Genshin.

SEXISM in the world of Tevyat…

Does not exist. I believe and concur so. Gender-specific crimes have been implied (see Lynette’s story), but in the entirety of its socio political landscape, sexism does not exist in tevyat.

In a world where women harness powers greater than men a lot of times, rule nations and none bats an eye. Soldiers exist as soldiers, knights exist as knights– not women, not men. (My egalitarian perspective’s start to ideal world, really)

I think sexism not existing in the world of Genshin is just very obvious, by the nature of it being an anime-stylised gacha game as well.

HOMOPHOBIA in the world of Tevyat…

Is harder to discuss because even if homophobia does not exist in tevyat, it sure does exist in China. A lot.

But despite that fact, let’s discuss it. HYV has always massively queer-coded their games (go argue with the wall, this is an obvious fact). Even in the face of strict censorship laws, they haven’t really been afraid to confirm (gay) relationships in some other games (see Bronya-Seele from HI3 and Kiana-Mei from HI3). Genshin taps a wider audience thus shies away from direct mentions. But the amount of queer coding? It’s there. Even if you are not a shipper.

I think I would like to mention one of the more highly-implied stances of queer relationship–

See Yoimiya’s story quest 1. The two guy ‘best friends’ who we help make up and their yearning to watch the fireworks together.

Of course, this is all very ambiguous. But with so many characters being into the traveller (despite the gender dynamics) and despite which twin you chose–

For example, Shenhe’s implication that Xiao must have found someone special in a voiceline exists even if you chose Aether or Lumine. It makes me think and believe that homophobia also does not exist.

No wonder I love the game so much.

This might all be very obvious to some people here and I might just be over-explaining it, but this assumption of Tevyat being exempt from sexism and homophobia was only a subconscious one for me until recent times and I just wanted to hear everyone’s thoughts on it as well.
