Winery of the day #3 Tantalus Vineyard. Sobriety is a losing battle. This is what a vineyard looks like all to yourself on a private patio...if only for a moment. Inside the pyramid of Summerhill. No lights. No ferrous metals. Aligned due north. Damn near pitch black we climb a narrow stairwell till we reach a room with a circle of chairs. Wine stored in its bowels for up to 30 years before sale. A statue of a golden goddess of some sort looks over us, next to the original wine racks, with bottles still in them. Off limits to everyone but us, the owner, and the, "occassional all female yoga party."
