after 2-3 months and a lot of procrastination, it's finally done! what you will see below is the profile picture for a little project ive been working on for a sideblog me and @littleguypumpkinsheep have collaborated on called cowboy-certification! first (and most proud of) artpiece of 2025!
(also, this was my first time really digitally coloring and shading any art piece ever! super proud of this =])

3:10 to Yuma
3:10 to Yuma (2007) needs more fics, or AUs, or fanart, it's an amazing film that goes over how grey the old west was rather than the dramatic black and white lenses we saw it through because of stereotypes and western films.
It goes over morals and values, we see this brought up when Wade mentions that Butterfield didn't even call attention to how many lives he took but rather talked about how much money he stole. Wade also mentions how McElroy has murdered like Wade before, and yet Bryon McElroy considers himself better, constantly shoving his faith into conversations as if to prove he is a good man when he never was.
The movie is like a coming of age story for William, a young 14 year old boy who is the son of Dan Evans, he sees his father's loyalty to God and his devotion to justice and how it's led to men like Hollander (the town banker and a saloon owner) to walk all over him. But by the end of the film his father became a brave man who had conquered one of the most wanted men in the west.
Daniel/Dan Evans is one of the main characters, through the film we see his achievements and his failures, we see his loyalty to his religion, how his family shares the same morals. More importantly we see the devastation in his family, lacking money for rent, for food, for anything. We see Dan face his sons despite their disappointment, we see him face his wife despite her lack of love. How poverty has strained the relationship between him and his wife, between him and his oldest son William, and even starting to disconnect him and his youngest son.
Ben Wade is an outlaw in the West, who had been abandoned by his parents and says he thinks doing good deeds might be "habit forming." He points out the flaws of each person he interacts with and seems to have a strong mindset of how the world around him is corrupt, only to have his view tested upon meeting Dan Evans.
Wade and Evans' dynamic is strong and well written out, they tell stories of their past to one another, they talk about morals and throughout the story get to know one another. Even briefly working together twice. At the end of the story, we can even see Wade almost shed a tear for Dan Evans.
Overall I think it's a good film with amazing story telling.
A Need I Should Feed😈
3:10 to Yuma fics, all great, lovely even.
But I wish there was one talking more about Dan's younger years, or even one where they meet when they're both younger, or even one taking place during the civil war or right after!
I want a fic focusing more on Dan and how he used to be a soldier, pls.😔🙏

3:10 to Yuma but Dan survives and becomes changed by the overall experience while Wade becomes a good person since Dan has broken his perspective on the world.
Dan dies and Wade tells his story(can be written in many different ways)
Dan survives and takes care of Wade's injuries that he gained from the whole trip to get to the train.
Modern Au where Ben Wade is part of a motorcycle gang and Dan is whatever job you think he should have.
Alice leaves, Wade and Dan raise William and Mark😱
Coffee shop AU! But Dan works at a coffee shop and Wade is an artist or just goes there to draw. (Can take place in a modern au or in the original setting time)
Ben Wade and Dan Evans are just friends who travel together after 3:10 to Yuma (with Dan surviving.)
Wade is nice to Dan but Dan doesn't like it too much because it makes him feel inferior (can be applied to listed fanfic ideas)

I'm sure you can tell all of these are Dan x Wade. If you guys want Dan x Alice, or a different ship, lemme know, I can also try to come up with other shops than Ben Wade x Dan Evans.
3:10 to Yuma on Netflix !!
They put 3:10 to Yuma into Netflix, I'm so happy they did! It feels like the fandoms reviving just even a little bit. Good golly! It really is a good film, the script is good for details, and the book is nice too, I haven't seen the original film but I plan to very soon! Also, check out these drawings I made of Dan Evans and Ben Wade!
(Yes I have a book of my favorite characters ever, except I have no printer so I had to learn how to draw.)

There's many similarities to the 2007 film, 3:10 to Yuma, and Red Dead Redemption 2!
So if you love Westerns, cowboys, hot guys, potential for fanfiction in a movie, and a beautiful short story, you might want to watch 3:10 to Yuma!
Here are the similarities between 3:10 to Yuma and RDR 2!
Charlie Prince (3:10 to Yuma), he's an outlaw, he's loyal, and? He's a bit too much like Micah. Hell sometimes they sound like each other!
Ben Wade (3:10 to Yuma): He's an outlaw with a heart, the leader of the gang who goes from being fully of himself and not caring for his gang or anyone for that fact, to developing a friendship with a broke rancher which possibly changed his mindset! I'd say he's similar to Dutch Van Der Linde and Arthur Morgan. Plus he draws.
I know this post is a bit of a stretch but I just need more people to watch and talk about 3:10 to Yuma.

If you like Red Dead Redemption 1 and 2 and you like watching movies, then I recommend 3:10 to Yuma (2007) Starring Russell Crowe and Christian Bale, it's based off a short story and follows a poor rancher named, Dan Evans, and a dangerous outlaw named Ben Wade, as their journey goes on together they go from enemies to friends, and are tested on their friendship with a gun fight in the town.
(Ben Wade played by Russell Crowe in 3:10 to Yuma 2007)
(Dan Evans played by Christian Bale in 3:10 to Yuma 2007)
And for those who like fanfiction and shipping, there's great potential for Dan Evans and Ben Wade if you look at their dialogue with a romantic view on it.

A fanfiction about the 2007 3:10 to Yuma except it takes place a week later, meaning the rancher, Dan Evans (36), has his house is burnt to the ground and his relationship with his wife, Alice (34), is unstable, causing him to have to take his two sons, William (14) and Mark (7), on the trip to bring the murderer, Ben Wade (38) to the train that'll bring him to justice. (It's recommended you watch the movie before reading, the movie itself is good and can be found on Peacock, and soon to be found on Netflix!)

In order we have Piano Keys, Beetle, and Javy Dohns! Them and their story were/are being written by me and my friend @x-eightball and they’re very dear to our hearts. They were based off of that one tumblr post way back when about how a cowboy, a samurai, and a pirate could have hypothetically met because their time periods over lapped a little. We took the idea and ran with it, so now we have a trio of disaster queers trying to simultaneously dodge the multiple governments that are after them and their mental issues.
