anyways we're painting a mural in my elective art class on lgbtq, poc, female, etc artists rn and the other week we were listening to the wicked soundtrack while painting (bc the teacher and 4 out of the 5 students are theatre kids) and popular came on and during that one part we all banged on something and screamed "RIGHT 👹"

Saw the Wicked Movie for the first time today. It was awesome but I hate how it was just part one. Good thing I saw a musical a few years ago so I know how it ends! The movie theater I went to had chair the reclined. And barely any one was in the theater. Loved it 10/10

All I can see. As soon as I saw the poster that's what my mind went to and I HAVNT seen ANYONE else notice it yet 😭

Recently, Islam shared another heartbreaking update: his mother has been diagnosed with malignant cancer. Years of war, limited access to healthcare, and the toxic conditions caused by ongoing bombings have severely impacted her health. Now, in addition to securing necessities, Islam is focused on providing his mother with the treatment she urgently needs.

Islam tries very hard to share his story through his blog, but it has been banned four times, making it difficult to tell people what is happening. To help his family, Islam made a GoFundMe to raise £30,000 for food, water, and shelter. Sadly, only £3,000 has been collected so far, and they still need a lot more to survive.

I was watching Wicked with my mom and during the “pink goes good with green” scene I went haha they’re pink and green like Lars and Sadie. Then, because I’m an idiot, I made this. Not much to say except it’s basically Wicked but with Steven Universe characters 😅 I call it my Green Goes Good with Pink AU!

Disclaimer: don’t get me wrong, I love Gelphie, but for simplicity reasons I have cut basically all romance from the AU. Lars and Sadie are just friends. I also feel bad making Padparadscha a villain so she’s no longer the wicked witch of the east. Plus her name has been changed to Padma!

I will admit that I never fully understood the “let’s ship the three parts of the narrative-enforced love triangle together” thing until I watched Wicked on Broadway (and subsequently the movie).

I’m not saying it’s a bad trope, honestly I think it’s pretty fun, and goodness knows that polyamory needs more representation. But when I view love triangles, there’s some kind of tension in there that makes it feel weird when they’re all together. It’s hard to go from vitriolic infighting over a person (who kind of gets treated as a prize to be won rather than a person in the worst case scenarios) to a healthy relationship in my mind.

But in Wicked’s case, I genuinely believe all three of these characters (Elphaba, Glinda, and Fiyero, ofc) would have good romantic chemistry together. They all bring out the best in each other in vastly different ways and if I was told that they all have romantic chemistry together I would not be surprised. And good for them honestly

OH, here's something I forgot to mention in my bullet points! The movie is very intentional about when and how other characters touch Nessa's wheelchair.

You know the stage version of Dancing Through Life, where Boq says "Let's dance," and immediately pushes Nessa's wheelchair around as a part of the choreography? None of that here. The movie goes out of its way to have Elphaba and Nessa emphasize that Nessa should be in charge of her own movement. When Boq wants to dance, he gets in front of Nessa and takes her hands. When someone pushes Nessa's chair without asking, that is a bad thing.

I'm not qualified to do more than observe the effort I can see the film making, but I definitely noticed the effort. Especially with the casting of Nessarose being so phenomenal.
