I’ve been re-reading the HP books and I got to Prisoner of Azkaban (be still my beating heart, it is still the best one) and, at Christmas there’s only 12 people around the dinner table. Trelawny comes along and Dumbledore stands up to draw her a chair.
She freaks out, I must not! When 13 people dine together, the first to rise is the first to die!!!!!
Except.
Ron had Scabbers in his pocket.
Which means that there wasn’t 12 people when Trelawny arrived. There was already 13.
And Dumbledore stood up.

People underestimate how much it fucks you up to be subtly excluded as a kid. I would try to talk to my classmates and be met with disinterest or annoyance. The one friend I had, who I clung to and nodded along to his every word, had other friends he liked just as much or more. And his other friends didn’t care for me at all.
I look back at pictures from the time and see how separated I was from them. I remember knowing I was different. I remember posing questions about the world to the girls playing next to me and realizing that they had never asked the same ones to themselves. That the ways we thought couldn’t be more different.
I kept myself amused with my own fanatical stories and musings in my head. I would wander the playground on a circular path, imagining a friend and being sorely disappointed when it didn’t feel as real as I’d hoped.
There was a bubble separating me from everyone else, thin, and nearly invisible, but with a pearly sheen you could catch under the right conditions. I knew it was there, they knew it was there, and it changed me

The pain of starting to lose weight as somebody who wears binders - suddenly those binders don’t fit no more cause your chest wasn’t as big as it used to be. Double edged sword honestly- like yay! They’re getting smaller! Shit, they’re getting smaller!

this is both the highest and lowest effort post i've made here so far. it took me like way to long to make, but if you look closely at it its not that great.
anyways, here is a deskstop background with every named hollow knight character with a few enemies drawn badly. also yes, this includes silksong characters and enemies.
if this get 150 notes in at the end of 2023 i will add every enemy i've left out. and the greenpath vessel cuz 1 person on reddit asked. and 1 vessel who got nosked. and maybe some others if i can find any.
