There it was again. What attack? It all flushed back into my mind in an instant. I was there again.
'...Survive' She yelled. I ran out back. Suddenly she started crying 'Leave me be, please. I don't want to die' 'Like I give a shit. It's all on the king's orders' Hahahahaha
That laughter. I knew it from somewhere. She started screaming. Louder and louder. You could feel her pain in those screams.
I turned around and ran. Ran to the forest. I didn't turn back anymore, I just ran. Ran for my life, hoping I never have to feel the pain I heard in those screams

They marched into the village. It was still early. The Sun had just dawned and the cock hadn't crown yet. Behind them lay already the soldiers who were supposed to watch the road.
Finally. After all these years in that goddamn dungeon someone saw my potential. Someone saw that my power, my lust for destruction isn't something bad, it's useful. He snapped with his fingers and a spark emerged from them. It flew to a house in an instant. WOOOSHH The house was ablaze an instant later.
Mwuahahuahahua After all those years... His eyes started glowing red. He snapped his fingers again and another house stood ablaze. ...I nearly forgot how much fun this is Hahahahahaha Burning people started running out of the houses. Screaming out of pain.

The Attack - Bjorn
Prepare for the Onslaught
One morning I woke up to the smell of smoke and burning flesh. To screams of pain and agony. To the sounds of clinging metal. At first I thought it was a bandit attack. They must be after the gold father got for that jewel he sold to the king I thought. But I was wrong.
Mother tried to stay calm. Father took his pickaxe and was on his way out the front door. Suddenly the door burst open and someone came through it. It felt like time was frozen. I looked at him and saw every detail on his armour. This is no bandit. This is a mercenary. Time unfroze again as father rammed his axe into the intruders head. He fell onto the floor and father went over him and out.
Mother didn't look. She did her best not to. To keep her calm. But I knew she wasn't calm. I could see the fright in her eyes. She took of her necklace and put it around my neck. Then she mumbled something I didn't understand and kissed me on my forehead. 'Run!' She said. 'Run out the backdoor. Get away from here. Survive.'

Reading the Leaves
My life before I became an orphan was that of a usual kid. I think. I played with the other kids in the village, helped mother in the garden now and then, watched the smith working when I had time. Nothing unusual.
Father was working in the mines. It was seldom that I could help him there. One time he called me and showed me this gemstone he found. He told me that I should show it to mother and ask if she likes it. I did just that. And she did like it.
It's been a very long time since that happened. Many things have changed since then. Many things...

Another gorgeous village of India. This one is located in the eastern part of the country where the staple diet of the locals is rice & fish, hence glimpses of paddy fields & fisherman.

This is how an Indian village looks like - grandma sitting in the courtyard; smiling faces of children coz they are genuinely happy & not just posing for the camera; huts with pet animals roaming freely; muddy tracks with greenery all around.

Also, you would be able to spot some very hardworking women; children & cattle venturing into the nearby forest and of course simple & meaningful activities like watching the sunrise, sunset or perhaps counting the birds flying by.
