Noah and Cain or “The roots of Dinosaur’s story”

They’re actually the prototypes of Aladar and Kron. Originally Dinosaur’s story was much more religion related. According to this Noah was an prophet-like Iguanodon with divination abilities and was wandering with his grandparents and a lemur named Adam. He was here an misfit because of his visions and seemingly more hot-headed and temperamental, so less that typical “nice guy type” than his later counterpart. Cain was almost the same as Kron, a stubborn, threatening, possessive and kinda tyrant-type leader. However, the concept was scrapped.

The smooth badassery without truly trying is amazing. This boy is a SUPERSOLDIER. Humans aren’t truly an issue besides ya know, being a little dazed and then hanged up on.

I really like reading the Adventure Time storyboards that Fred Seibert and then @kingofooo have been putting online on Scribd. I would love to see some sort of book with all of them one day! It’s a great way to rediscover the series from a different perspective.
In the meantime, since they were all posted in no specific order and with the production numbers instead of the final numbering, I made a list of all the ones I could find: https://adventuretime.wikia.com/wiki/Storyboards/List

I was watching some of the storyboards for The Gaslight District by Sketchrobin on YouTube, and found something interesting.

What do you mean by “before the fridge was full of litterbugs”? Were the beta models originally meant to show that the Gaslight District practiced cannibalism before being changed to litterbugs? Or were they just placeholders for until the litterbug models were made?
I’m thinking it’s most likely the latter idea (placeholder models).

Part 1/5 of some samples of my boards from The Owl House s2e13 “Any Sport in a Storm” Had fun boarding Willow’s work out and her bold new intro. A small thing I boarded with a lot of love was Luz’s little floof of Willow’s new hair. It was inspired from my high school days when I changed my hair/got a hair cut my friends would always want to floof the new haircut/style. Happened with anyone’s haircut really, everyone had to touch it haha; I don’t know, it was an all girls school, very touchy feely. Anyway, Willow is awesome. :)

When we were boarding for Key of the Creek, we had to put everything in animatics. Its not normal to do this, but it would be... very difficult to get the timing right to match the panels.
I only post elders, but I think its high time I start posting boards lol

The other day, I unearthed 3 pages of Storyboard Cleanup, which I had zero memory of. Not only couldn’t I identify the series, but the time period escaped me, as well. After posting it to my Instagram, a few kind souls volunteered that it was actually from: “My Dad The Rockstar”, which aired in 2003..
The only thing I knew for sure, was that I did the Storyboard Cleanup job for my friend: Rob Walton. I’ve only ever done cleanup for him. Usually, at times of extreme deadline crisis.. I thought it’d be fun to lookup the episode online and make a few screengrabs to compare the finished broadcast shots to the initial storyboards..
The episode was entitled: “High Infidelity”, and was the 4th show of the 1st Season. I recall making the storyboard panel grid myself, and the underlying blue rough drawings were mine too, based on pencil roughs Rob provided. Looking at the finished shots, I was a bit surprised to how graphic the interpretations were.. I didn’t have any model sheets to work from. And simply did my best to glean volumes and construction of the characters, from Rob’s roughs..
This was a Nelvana cartoon series, co-produced with Gene Simmons of KISS fame. The Layout Supervisor was my late friend from Sheridan College: Kevin Klis.. I recall that some of the layout work was also farmed-out to George Elliott’s studio. But I don’t know the extent of that arrangement..
A keen eye will spot a few bad Layout tangents that managed to slip thru.. On the 2nd page of screengrabs, the first few shots almost appear to have the kid bully (“Buzz” Sawchuck) reaching into the van. Who’s arm is it? it’s really supposed to be the arm of the bald tropical shirt dude, leaning on the van window.. On the 3rd screengrab sheet, you can see that there is a bad leveling error of that same bald dude, sandwiching the bulk of his body BEHIND the actual van seat he’s supposed to be sitting in?!.. I think the unfinished rough of the bald dude falling out of the van was simply a gag that Rob suggested, that was not even in the script..
Like I say, I can’t recall. But it was a fun job to work on. Thanks!
