Experimenting a little bit with mixed media, I quite like the look of drawn/stylised elements in conjunction with photos!!

Cat and Dog meet a pair of strange winged beings, seemingly also fox-like in form and yet somehow familiar in a way that is vague and beyond description…

(Context for this one: the characters on the right, named Spii-Ba and Spii-Bu, are the original basal forms of Cat and Dog as characters; I first starting drawing them when I was 11, and as Cat and Dog are their modern forms, so to speak! They were from a cheesy Pokemon/Digimon knock-off comic I liked drawing back then. Anyway drawing this was cathartic and fun, ngl)

God Animal-Episode 1: Our Friend Rebirth Horse (1st year anniversary)

A year ago today, I finished the first episode of my webcomic, titled God Animal.

It is a xenofiction-adjacent story about a pair of close fox friends, named Cat and Dog, attempting to survive the hostile world left behind after a cataclysm, from which a mysterious and destructive force is devouring all that remains. When it seems that all hope of survival is lost, the pair of foxes meet a strange deity-like being, who may hold the key to their survival…

You can read it here (do heed the content warnings before proceeding). Episode 2 has been in the works for a bit, a lot happened to myself and those close to me this year, so it will be done when it is done.

Regardless, I feel happy to have completed the first episode and commemorate the first anniversary of Episode 1. :3

Fun fact: I listened to the track Resolve from the Mother 3 OST a lot whilst drawing this one (as well as for a lot of God Animal-related material from the past two years especially). I feel like it fits the bleak, disturbingly quiet post-apocalypse that is the Post-Silence wasteland!!

Also Mother 3 is amazing and it will always be a favourite video game for me <3

I've had this old piece I produced in 2022 on my mind again recently. I'm still very fond of it and I might redraw it for fun, maybe!

I think it kind of communicates at least part of what I intend to convey with God Animal.

Rhino and stag beetles as a paired motif just felt right :3 Though as per my God Animal halloween piece last year, Rebirth Horse is Homer Simpson as he appears in that one Treehouse of Horror IV segment
