durarara why shizaya izaya orihara shizuo heiwajima i made a thing a cheap imitation ehe it's like a parady of one of the saw movie posters a friend sent me a while back the one with the hanging teeth and i also absolutely took reference from the way @shigaeru draws izaya's knives i just really like the distinct shape he gives them also since this is aci that knife design is kinda burned into my mind as the aci knife design whoops the colours are also pulled and tweaked from that comic's first volume cover the red bg is very iconic and fitting for this sort of thing and the blue shading looks really pretty with it..... this whole thing is extremely derivative as you can see i wanted to adjust more with the piece but i make my best art in the very first burst of loosely slapping stuff down trying to clean anything up from there is futile so i tweaked some things and just had to make myself share it as is i wanted to make it clearer how the blade is cutting into the fabric but i couldn't figure it out :( i hope you can still manage to derive the intended symbolism from it lol i had this idea a while back but decided to use shizayaweek2023 free day as a deadline to help motivate myself to actually try it it's still late but whatever throwing it up at the door rn okay i actually sat on this for a few extra days just because of the horrific compression cursed upon it on upload i could not win no matter how small i made it i have no clue how to fix it so now it just looks like that i'm sorry ;o; maybe i'll try posting it somewhere else as well idk

(blood) and the teeth i like the expressive mouth shape watch out on those stairs though

reblog drrr shizaya izaya orihara shizuo heiwajima shizayaweek2023 ikam177 ahh it's been a while since the last shizaya week and your art gets better!! i really like the way you drew them here izaya's face is particularly cute cute to me being especially pleasing to look at with the shapes and lines he still looks like a menace i really like his sly expression with the little pinch of exertion he looks good worn out and clutching at himself and his hair has a nice soft look to it it falls over his face nicely your fluffy hair shizuo is such a distinct look too the way it looks particularly tousled here is cute shizuo's expression like he's genuinely caught of guard is izaya planning to blow them up together or something

reblog crossover drrr shizaya izaya orihara shizuo heiwajima kgpr shizayaweek2023 shigaeru oh my god you have so much artistic rizz my definition of that being that you instill everything with so much style and charm like dude i just love how you make it all look also you drew them as kids and i have a soft spot for seeing characters as their younger selves we understandably don't see too much of that for these two so it feels extra special aaaa their little squishy faces <333 little shizuo is so round waoooo his expressions are adorablee and he has bandages aw izaya pushing out the rope of the swing and shizuo's cautious lean away hunch is so charming ahh rizzing up those shot redraws izaya's expression there with the soft-edged cheekiness so cute and childishly confident they'll make a menace out of him yet i kinda wonder how much they'd know each other at this point? like would they be friends or do they meet on the swings i like the idea of kidzaya who doesn't get a lot of attention seeing kidzuo who draws a lot of attention and like idk but maybe this is izaya reaching out for attention and seeing how this odd kid would react if he– it's probably a rash accident at first but once he realises the timeloop he figures the solution is to make shizuo die in his place maybe to shizuo this is just the first kid willing to approach him and oh he hates how he attracts danger and hurts people beyond his control now i'm interested in seeing how feelings of hate might develop over time as izaya actively manipulates scenes that get to shizuo's head maybe after watching shizuo die in his place a few times to no avail izaya starts to think this is a certain kind of purgatory since he's a nerd like that and this only happened because he approached the monster and led him to believe that he wasn't one and the only way out is to push shizuo into killing him with his own hands as he looks his own monstrosity in the eyes and accepts that he much prefers the face he sees when he's the one dying rather than looking away and pretending that dying like that makes him more human and shizuo realises the kid is ruining his life on purpose and why did he ever feel bad for him from the start both just lonely kids lashing out at what they think is true about themselves and each other until they've bent it into some mangled truth

reblog drrr shizaya izaya orihara shizuo heiwajima soultiio shizayaweek2023 woww i really do like your art in pencil it works especially well for these guys too ooh this is a fun composition i like how all the elements are laid out a bit scrapbook-like creates a nice vibe the eyes are prettyy i love the way you did them staring into each other with such deep opposing convictions the first frame has the most tender shizuo <3 he looks so tired all bloodied up i love the close-up frame it's very pretty with shizuo's lips parted over the cigarette and izaya's hand so bird bones i like how the frame is tilted up with the movement of it and like it throws him off kilter something about shizuo in izaya's hand blood all over his face in trying to save him but in the end the blood is still on izaya's the tumbling words “until you have to do it again” have a nice flow the hooded izaya there looking very cute and breakable i appreciate the details in the tags i'm curious as to where you might bring this as a story hm even if shizuo managed to save izaya and they grow old together would dying at that point still reset the timeline and force shizuo to relive this process all over again? would it hurt even more having lived happier endings that you're forced to bear the burden of remembering alone?

reblog drrr yeah totally. shizaya izaya orihara shizuo heiwajima soultiio shizayaweek2023 heyy nice to see you around these parts again i've still been following your reblogs and posts they're fun :) nyways these guys!! no tablet no problem i really like your pencilwork here it adds a lot of rawness to it which really works cuz y'know i think this has gotta be my favourite way you've drawn these guys their side profiles look so good their noses their eyes... and the lines of their hairr shizuo's hands look quite pretty too the way you've done the hard hatching and light shading with the pencil looks so so good woahh love the balance between the firm lines and the harsh scribbly parts ummm this depicts denial in... the way they hold each other shizuo's hands gripping at izaya and tilting his jaw up like he wants to hear him say it while i think izaya's hands are trying to cover shizuo's mouth denial in withholding what shizuo wants him to say and trying to block off what shizuo's trying to say
