My thoughts on Teen Wolf season 1
Ok sooo...
I just finished watching Teen Wolf season 1 and I guess here is how I felt about?
Ofc spoilers alert🚨
Ok so first of all the story all together, like it was not good but neither was it all that bad though there were quite a few moments making me question why I started watching it. But I'll see how my opinion changes with the next season. Then there were the fighting scenes idk why but they felt silly? And the whole thing with them running on all fours got me laughing every time, I'm sorry but it looked really ridiculous.
Moving on to the characters. First the side characters I liked most of them.
Sheriff Stilinski (especially enjoyed his relationship with Stiles, he was cool dad all together)
Mrs Mccall (I really liked her character, she was quite charming)
Allison's family (I liked her father the most, hated the mother and then her aunt I know she was bad but I still liked her ngl)
veterinary doctor (he was a chill guy, though Idk why he helped Scott or what he is exactly but I guess I'll see?)
coach (love him, cool guy, fun to watch)
chemistry teacher (Idk I have mixed feelings about him...)
Next the main characters
Derek (the whole time through my mind was going only "he was standing there, ... menacingly" though he got better in the second half plus I like the progression his relationship with Stiles made)
Scott (ok so hear me out, I don't like him and the reason why? Because he can be such an inconsiderate A hole, especially towards Stiles but we'll see how it will turn out)
Lydia (I like her but at same time I was like why would u do that?)
Jackson (ok so I don't like him but he was tolerable when he started acting all weird and nice if u know what I mean)
Allisson (I like her but at the same time WHY is she so gullible!? because if I erased that part she would be so cool)
And the last one is Stiles (omg, I just love Stiles he is such a fun and smart character trying to keep everything together even though he just got hit by a supernatural double decker, he was the reason I was able to pull through this whole season ngl)
And I guess that's it. Overall I kinda enjoyed it though I hope it will get better especially the fighting and some character scenes because yeah sometimes (many times) it was wild

Alaska grew so much!!! Ah now that I look at it the special episode in rpdr season 1 shows so many of the drag queens we know today. It's been so long since I've watched season 1 that I didn't realize the ones that didn't get in such as Alaska, Detox, Raven, Sahara (😭😭), Nicole Paige brooks, Pandora and Naysha.
Remember when immunity was a thing???
Honestly I totally forgot, hell snatch game didn't exist back in season 1!!!!
Rewatching season 1 Omg!! Honestly I hope they bring back Nina (even though she was in allstars, but come on! It was 6 episodes!!)
Okej, wiem, że jestem (mocno) spóźniona, ale... życie. I upały. Upały mnie wykańczają. Przepraszam, jest mi przykro. Chyba skończę z terminami...
Skończyłam pierwszy sezon Amphibii. Kiedy to pierwszy raz pisałam wyszło mi tego... dużo, więc postanowiłam, że o samym finale napisze w osobnym poście.
Cały serial naprawdę mi się podobał. Jest zabawny i interesujący, uwielbiam postacie i podoba mi się świat. Zwłaszcza wprowadzenie magii w pełnej jej okazałości w drugiej połowie sezonu.
Ale mam dużo lepszą opinię o drugiej połowie sezonu. Mimo epizodyczności można było zobaczyć różne linie fabularne, które się przeplatały. Dzięki temu odcinki, które były "fillerami" nie raziły tak bardzo, a część z nich nawet nawiązywała do finału.
Tego zabrakło w pierwszej połowie sezonu. Poza wprowadzeniem i pół finałem sezonu wszystkie odcinki były bardzo chaotyczne i wydawały się nic nie wnosić (i tylko kilka z nich coś wniosło), przez co trudniej mi się było zaangażować.
Jestem w stanie zrozumieć, dlaczego poznanie miasta i przywiązanie się do nich było ważne (finał), ale w drugiej połowie sezonu udało się to zrobić lepiej, więc sami twórcy udowodnili, że się dało. Dlatego właśnie moja ocena tego sezonu jest dużo niższa.
Em... Arki postaci! Racja! W seriach jak Amphibia (z dużą ilością "lekcji" i bardzo dużym naciskiem na odcinkowość) mam spore problemy z wyłapaniem arków postaci. Zwłaszcza za pierwszym podejściem. Często postacie się "resetują" w kolejnym odcinku, przechodzą kilka razy jedną "lekcję", a odcinki starają się wyolbrzymiać wadę, która normalnie jest ledwo widoczna.
To w sumie jeden z powodów, dla których oceniam ten sezon troszkę gorzej, heh...
Jednym z powodów, dlaczego może być z tym problem, jest epizodyczna forma odcinków i zamknięte środowisko - wioska-dżungla. A krótkie odcinki nie pozawalają na dodawanie scen, które nie są esencjonalne do fabuły. Wiem, że to czepianie się szczegółów, bo "to kreskówka głównie dla dzieci", ale znam kreskówki, które robiły to lepiej, mimo bycia produkowanymi dla tej samej grupy odbiorczej (jeśli pominiemy "Wielki Kanion"... ugh...)
Ale mimo tego wszystkiego, bardzo podobały mi się niektóre arki. Podoba mi się, że widzimy akceptację Anne następującą raczej powoli - Hop Pop był gotów zakopać jej jedyną drogę do domu dla bezpieczeństwa, mimo że wiedział, jak bardzo to jest dla niej ważne (mógł być też skrajnie samolubny i chciał ją zatrzymać, ale... to nie jest za bardzo w jego stylu...). Polly nie od razu uwierzyła, że Anne ich nie zje, a jeszcze dłużej zajęło, zanim się z nią zaprzyjaźniła. No i nie ważne, ile mogłabym na to narzekać, akceptacja Anne w wiosce była dobrze poprowadzona i miała naprawdę piękną konkluzję w "Anne of the Year".
Chciałabym też przez chwilę się pozachwycać wprowadzeniem magii do tego świata. Oh, jak ja uwielbiam światy fantasy z magią. I przez magię mam na myśli magię, nie pseudo-magiczne elementy... Dzięki temu (i charakter development) Maddie od razu podskoczyła na liście moich ulubionych postaci. Mam nadzieję, że Magia będzie mieć większą rolę w serii, zwłaszcza że pudełko, które wysłało Anne na wyspę, jest najpewniej magiczne!
To chyba będzie już wszystko. Niedługo powinnam coś napisać o "Reunion"... chyba. Raczej. Na 95%

In season 1 episode 2 it’s so funny that Arthur and Morgana are fighting like siblings and they don’t even realize it. (Y’all someone stop me this show is slowing going to become an obsession again)

we only ever talked about HALF of why these scenes were a big deal, like I just realized this today and my heart is going insane.
It’s not just that Crowley’s pissed at Gabriel for treating who he thinks as Aziraphale this way, the last thing he says to the people about to kill him is a benign and peaceful wish to see them again.
And like- this is Crowley trying to replicate Aziraphale to a T. So he legitimately just sees him as this endless well of compassion, someone who is always warm and accepting. It’s not just their friendship throughout the years, he remembers Aziraphale’s kindness on the Eastern Gate. When the angel had absolutely no reason to trust this random demon who just slithered up next to him. Crowley knows that he’s loved. Maybe not like that quite yet (although he’d be very wrong), but he knows that around his friend he’s always welcome and safe.
And Aziraphale?
Well he just thinks Crowley’s the coolest fucker alive, like he is laying it in THICK and enjoying every second. Listen to that charisma, look at that smirk. These are traits that are typically only appreciated in the context of how good it makes Crowley at tempting, a job he hates. But Aziraphale doesn’t see someone manipulative or regard this persona as signs of his “demonic nature”, he just sees Crowley. Someone charming, fun loving, and cute.
This is when we get to know precisely why they love each other, what exactly they see in the other.

Locke and Key - Review
Plus Points:
Kinsey’s Character is written as the impulsive one who makes poor decisions because she does not think about the wider consequences of her actions, a character trait that is most commonly (to my knowledge) reserved for male characters.
Tyler’s Character is written and acted out as the more empathetic character which is not a common way in which male characters are written
Uncle Duncan is treated as a character who happens to be gay and not a ‘Gay character’ and same goes for the character Logan Calloway who is also treated as a character first who also happens to be disabled. Normalise this.
Teenagers are shown as individuals who think they are grown ups and think they can take care of themselves but at the same time do not do a stellar job of it and also childlike in the sense that they are trusting even in the face of imminent danger (giving the Key to Ellie)
Negative Points:
Major characters as always are white, thin and good looking (No surprises) also POC characters are on the periphery at best so comes across that showing diversity was an after thought (TBH the story surrounds the Locke family so maybe showing diversity could only come through in the way they did)
Could have spent more time exploring how trauma affected the kids and the parents
Overall:
This show tries its best (And sometimes fails) to explore how trauma affects the characters. Everyone in the family has unresolved trauma and not addressing it will only lead to more problems in the future. Like in the case of the mother, Nina, not resolving her own trauma makes her come across as an uninvolved parent in almost all her kids lives. Kinsey removing her fear out of her head is something that seems empowering in the moment but really stupid in the long run and could have been missed if she’d had someone with whom she could access her trauma with (ahem a trauma councillor). Tyler does have PTSD and blames himself throughout most of the show which could have been explored more rather than giving us more examples of how Kinsey sans fear is a constantly making cringe worthy choices. Bode needs someone to look out for him.
