Yandere Salazar Slytherin headcanon.

Yandere Salazar Slytherin Headcanon.

YANDERE SALAZAR SLYTHERIN X READER

🐍Salazar was different compared to the other founders at hogwarts . He created secret passages and rooms that no one new about .

🐍he also wanted only pure bloods to go to hogwarts thinking that others were not worthy of such a luxury as going to hogwarts.

🐍many feared him but most envied him because of him be so smart and ambitious.

🐍meets you at some point during his time at hogwarts.

🐍see so much potential in your fierce spirit.

🐍if you are a pure blood he is marrying you straight away if you are not he is considering his options.

🐍he wants to marry you but he has certain expectations to up hold that he has created for himself. You may become his mistress or second wife if you are not pure blood.

🐍if you are pure blood he marries you and never marries anyone else.

🐍would like a few sons to carry on his family line but isn’t too bothered.

🐍rivals he takes care of himself using the torturing curse and make your rivals lose there mind . He won’t necessarily kill them unless he is feeling generous.

🐍you can’t escape him not unless you had the other founders on your side but it’s hard to get them on your side since Salazar has them rapped round his finger.

🐍he doesn’t love you like other yanderes will instead he is super toxic and wants to control you.

🐍however if you can manage to manipulate him into doing what you want he will do it.

🐍manipulative and power driven yandere

🐍one of the worst to have because he will punish you in ways that no one new existed.

Thank you for the request ❤️❤️

THANK YOU. Finally someone says it!

I can’t even count the number of fics and hp theories I’ve read that completely ignore this fact.

I honestly think the reason why so many people forget this is because the characters themselves never acknowledge it. And the fact that most of the people Harry surrounds himself are firmly entrenched in Magical Society. He has a lot of Pureblood allies and friends for example. I don’t think many of them understand just how deep discrimination can go. Nor do I think they understand the difference between being called a blood traitor vs a mudblood. It’s the difference between being sympathetic to muggles rather than actually being related to one and that shit matters.

They associate anti-Muggle sentiments with Voldemort and the Death Eaters. In their minds, as soon as they’re defeated everything will go back to normal! Normal just being more subtle and unspoken discrimination that can be waved away by the few well-meaning but ignorant Purebloods, “Oh Sally from accounting said something to you? You must’ve misunderstood! I know her very well, she’s no Death Eater.”

I’ve lost my point, if you can’t tell I’m really interested in the politics behind hp discrimination, I’m very sad that there aren’t more fics about it pre and post-Voldemort. But back to Tom.

Another factor is the fact that Dumbledore canonically theorizes Tom had a gang of Slytherins following him called the Knights of Walpurgis (KoW) during school. I think that bit of canon is absolute garbage and I hate it because as you said: he’s perceived Muggleborn. I swear every time I read a fic with this ‘gang’ that isn’t a crack fic I want to scream.

You’re telling me that this man worked in customer service for years voluntarily? When he had like 5 Sugar Daddies on speed-dial? Honey, please. Magic I can rationalize but KoW is just straight up unrealistic.

Also, fun fact Dumbledore 100% knew Tom wasn’t a Muggleborn because of his Parseltongue abilities (or at least suspected). This man let Tom be discriminated against and did not say a WORD. Nor did he attempt to help find Tom’s family. And poor feral baby Tom probably didn’t tell another soul about his ability to speak to snakes during school because of Dumbledore’s reaction when he told him.

Considering his Catholic upbringing in addition to Dumbledore’s response to learning about his in-built Snake Google Translate, Tom was probably like “Ok so the Magical world also has bad associations with snakes. Good to know.”

And then Tom probably found out Parseltongue was an indicator for Slytherin ancestry during the Chamber fiasco and flipped the fuck out. Because that meant his elitist-ass housemates were disrespecting him in what was essentially his own fucking house??? I’d be mad too if I went to school somewhere where the students worshipped the ground the founder walked on and used the founder’s beliefs to try and prove I didn’t belong. And then discover that I was related to the founder they would use as a reason to bully me? The audacity. I’d implode on the spot.

(In answer to your last query, I headcanon that his hiatus from Britain was so he could re-brand himself. Tom Riddle was the bullied Slytherin Muggleborn. He had to disappear. Voldemort was the messiah-like cryptid who emerged from the shadows with all of life’s answers. He just needs your first born.)

Tom Riddle, aka, Voldemort was canonically perceived to be a muggleborn for many years before he found out about Merope Gaunt. Because only for muggleborns does a teacher visit the parents/guardian/orphanage. Harry was simply given a letter even though he lived in the muggle world, while McGonagall visited Hermione.

In the same vein, Dumbledore visited Tom’s orphanage to inform him about Hogwarts.

where am i going with this?

the sorting hat put a perceived muggleborn in Slytherin. Don’t try to tell me that oh no, the sorting hat knows who or what you and your ancestors are. No it doesn’t. It reads your mind. it’s very much possible (and by that, i mean i’m certain) that the gaunts did not attend hogwarts.

He might’ve turned out to be a half blood, but at the time, he was considered muggleborn, both by magic and by himself-even though he hated the thought of it.

there are muggleborns in slytherin.

slytherin is cunning and ambition. not blood purity.

(also, i do not understand how people like the malfoys and the blacks and the lestranges and other blood purity fanatics followed a perceived muggleborn. like did voldy tell them that oh no, i’m a half blood? or was it because he was so charismatic that he made them forget that essentially, he was not a pureblood?)

SALAZAR SLYTHERIN was a pure-blood wizard, noted for his cunning and determination, and was one of the four founders of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. He was regarded as one of the greatest wizards of the age for his abilities as a Parselmouth and as a skilled Legilimens. He selected his students according to their cunning, ambition, determination and blood purity. As a professor, he was in favour of teaching the Dark Arts, and also taught the Unforgivable Curses, such as the Imperius Curse, which were not illegal at the time.

The Origin of a Name

So we all know that Tom's nickname name translates to "flight of death" in French.

Which is ironic because he fancied himself immortal, having made his Horcruxes. And it was a nickname he received/made not long after Hogwarts, i.e. not long after he made his first Horcrux and believed himself immortal (He just didn't use it openly until a decade later).

So little Tom was doodling with his name, trying to make something that was in no way reminding of his Muggle heritage, and also remembering the French he glanced at when he learned that it was sort of a "pure-blood" language tradition.

And little Tom, believing himself to be newly immortal, stumbles upon an anagram , a smush of vol-de-mort that means death flies. He sees it as fate, that death flies from him because he is just that powerful as a student.

And he needs to be seen as noble, that he is descended from pure blood, that as a descendant of Slytherin he is the true lord of darkness.

And thus, the name Lord Voldemort was born.

Wizarding Blood-Purity is a Sham

I think that a lot of people forget that Salazar Slytherin wasn't racist.

And no, before you go all crazy on me just remember in the second book, when fear and anger and all kinds of emotions were running wild and everyone distrusted Slytherin House, students asked a teacher about what happened. And that teacher, a ghost who for all we know could have been there when it actually happened, gave an honest answer.

"Slytherin wished to be more selective about the students admitted to Hogwarts. He believed that magical learning should be kept within all-magic families. He disliked taking students of Muggle parentage, believing them to be untrustworthy."

Look at the language. Look at it, and understand that Salazar didn't see Muggle-borns as inferior, as worse. He saw them as untrustworthy.

Why, you ask? Well Professor Binns answers that as well!

"[The founders] built this castle together, far from prying Muggle eyes, for it was an age when magic was feared by common people, and witches and wizard suffered much persecution."

Salazar didn't like Muggles because they were hunting his family, his people, and persecuting them with horrific violence. He didn't trust Muggle-borns because how could he know that they wouldn't betray the magical world and tell their families that the kid two villages over practices magic with him on Tuesdays?

And yes, witches and wizards had ways to make it look like they burned at the stake when they actually survived, such as the Flame-Freezing Charm. But young children, with little control over their magic? If they were caught or exposed, well, it probably wouldn't end well for them.

Plus, wizardkind is outnumbered by Muggles, by a huge amount. If a village of Muggles who hated and feared magic discovered that a family of wizards and witches was among them, the parents would be burdened with trying to flee from a few hundred people while protecting their kids (who can't control their magic).

Salazar Slytherin didn't like Muggles or Muggle-borns. He hated them and feared them, not because they were inferior, but because they were dangerous. And while murdering children with a giant snake is not a good way to solve this danger to his family, people, and culture, it HAS to be seen that his actions were born not from arrogance, but from fear.

And there were Slytherins who knew this, long before Muggles had become so othered from wizarding society that some families started to believe that Muggles were inferior to those with "pure blood." Like Merlin, Prince of Enchanters, arguably the greatest wizard of all time, who founded the Order of Merlin to protect and aid Muggles, whose name has become synonymous with Muggle rights activisim. Merlin, a Slytherin.

If Salazar Slytherin was alive in the 20th century, he would laugh at the idea that Muggles were inferior. He would be the first to point out that Lily Evans and Hermione Granger, the brightest witches of their age, were Muggle-born. He would scorn the idea that pure-bloods were better, saying if that's true, why is Draco Malfoy, a pure-blood, second to a Muggle-born?

Salazar had questionable morals, to be sure (anyone who doesn't think so can re-read the Chamber of Secrets, where he hid a giant snake in a school full of children to murder the ones he deemed dangerous). But he never, never once thought that Muggles were inferior to wizards.

RWaHT - Chapter 11: Beating Flaming Hearts

RWaHT - Chapter 11: Beating Flaming Hearts

“H-Helena?” Gryffindor breathed out, and Ron felt suddenly uncomfortable being in the same room as the two. The Grey Lady seemed like she had been the one to stare at a ghost, but Ron saw as her eyes suddenly filled with silver tears and she floated away. Gryffindor seemed rooted to his spot as if he had been petrified in his place, but something seemed to shake him off from his daze.

“Helena, wait!” Gryffindor said as he reached out to the Grey Lady, but it was too late by the time he had taken his first step she had rounded the corner and passed through the ceiling above.

Ron’s master had a face of pure rejection and grief, Gryffindor sank down to his knees as his head bowed down in defeat. Ron looked around checking for anyone that could be nearby, seeing no one he walked to Gryffindor’s side. Gryffindor looked heartbroken, he wore a similar expression to the one Ron had sometimes spotted on Sirius’ expression whenever his time at Azkaban was mentioned, or Harry’s parents.

Gryffindor was tall, taller even than Ron’s father who was the tallest adult, besides Hagrid, he’d ever met. His large body made it hard for Ron to find a way to sit down without looking like a midget. Still he stayed by his side as he stared down at the floor like a defeated man. He turned his head and looked at Ron giving the young Weasley a strained smile he ruffled Ron with his large hand and looked at him amusedly.

“You need a haircut, ginger cub,” he said. He stood up to his full height, cleaned invisible dust off Ron’s shoulders and cleared his throat. “Well, I think I’ll go to sleep tonight. Make sure you rest, Ron. Good night.”

“Master Gryffindor?” but Gryffindor was already walking away, a somber aura surrounding him as he walked the halls of Hogwarts alone. Ron looked at the retreating figure of his mentor and tried to follow him, but as soon as he took a step in his trail Gryffindor’s voice boomed across the hallway.

“Go back to your dorm and forget about it, Ronald,” it was intimidating, like a lion who could talk instead of roar, but Ron only looked at his mentor as he walked away. Ron debated going back to the Common Room as Gryffindor suggested, but instead he followed his mentor as he roamed the halls of Hogwarts. The cold night offered no warmth for Ron, yet he didn’t mind it. Gryffindor had comforted him when he had made a fool of himself in his first Quidditch Match, trying to help him was the least he could do.

He followed him to the training room where Ron could see that Gryffindor had sat down on a chair with his head in his hands. The older wizard seemed exhausted, like someone who’d just gone through a war, and Ron wouldn’t be surprised if he had. Gryffindor lifted his head, and Ron froze in his spot, the older wizard sighed and conjured a second chair giving Ron the hint to sit down.

Gryffindor had taken off his gloves and rolled up the sleeves of his top leaving his numerous scars out in the open. It was haunting the amount he had, some were so disturbingly complex that they almost looked like tattoos, and Ron wondered to himself what kind of magic could do that.

“Magic that can kill you,” Gryffindor almost growled, his voice seemed raspy as if he had just let out a scream and had lost his voice. The two stayed silent, Ron trying his best to keep his mind blank so that Gryffindor couldn’t read it.

“Master?” Gryffindor hummed, signaling Ron to ask the question he knew the young boy had.

“Are you alright?”

——————————————————————————————————

Gryffindor clearly hadn’t expected that, but he still managed to hide his surprise. What was he supposed to say? Yes, I’m alright young Ronald, I’ve only seen the ghost of my daughter for the first time because believe it or not I’m actually the most cowardly man you have ever met. He rubbed his eyes trying very hard to extinguish the tears before they even threatened to escape his eyes. Gryffindor shook his head.

Ron only nodded and stayed silent. Something gnawed at his mind, and Gryffindor must have underestimated his mind skills, because even though he knew Ron wanted to desperately ask something he wouldn’t reveal what it was, no matter what.

Gryffindor didn’t know how long the two had stayed like that. Almost frozen in time as his thoughts dwelled on Helena. She hadn’t changed, not one bit. A mirror of his mother in every single way from her black eyes to her sleek black hair and pale skin. He couldn’t have been more proud when he was born, because even when she looked almost nothing like him except for her freckles she was everything he could ever hope for in a daughter.

I love that Salazars Basilisk was corrupted by Tom. It's great! :D

Imagine an au where each Hogwarts Founder left a Magical Creature to defend the school

The Basilisk wasn’t the only creature left by the founders…

Godric would’ve left behind a Nemean Lion to defend the school and children from the Basilisk and those who would dare to threaten the school

Helga left a badger. A honey badger. An immortal honey badger. It’s still shuffling around the Castle, driving off the smaller magical creatures like redcaps from the forest.

Rowena would’ve left behind a highly intelligent Eagle, much like the Owl from the Library episode of Avatar The Last Airbender, to guide her students and defend the school.

Salazar left behind the Basilisk to defend the school from Muggles potentially invading the school and the only reason why it targets Muggleborns is that The Basilisk senses Muggle blood and Tom corrupted the beast
