progress has been made! I've added devil wings to finish the back, made a couple more patches for the front, and attached some D&D pins that i got from a local nerd shop/hangout space!

a picture of the back of a black denim jacket hanging on a closet door. it has a long patch of a hand-embroidered black and white spine in the center. on either side are bright red partially folded devil wings with a small white spike on the topmost joint. the tips go partially down the sleeves, so that they move when the wearer moves their arms.

a closeup of the two dungeons and dragons pins on the front of the jacket. one is of a 20 sided die with the words "saving throw" around it. the other is an artwork of a mimic that looks like a treasure chest with a monstrous mouth, with the words "dungeons & dragons" around it.

a closeup of a hand-embroidered detail on the side of the left sleeve of the denim jacket. pieces of white fabric have been sewn on to look like a bone that has been snapped in half, sending a few small shards flying out.

I'm planning to come back to the wings at some point and add some more details, but for now they're just solid shapes

a picture of the front of a dark denim jacket hanging on a closet door. the dye is a little splotchy. it has one small handmade skeleton patch at the bottom near the pocket sewn on with red thread.

the back of the same dark denim jacket. the only patch is a long handmade spine sewn on with red thread.

and so it begins

another jacket, this time with sleeves! spent the whole weekend trying to dye it (didn't work the first time, stuck my hand in dye water without thinking, dinged up my dryer, splotchy results, etc etc) but at last, it holds.

I've started transferring a couple black and white patches from my vest to this jacket, and I'm going to try to stick with those two colors and red. someday I'll come back to my vest and replace the blue flannel with green, and lean into that color to have some contrast between the two. but for now I'm focusing on this jacket, and I'm super excited
