Where Every Scroll is a New Adventure
now you just gotta add ‘related to Mark Hamill but its strained’ to Vader and Zuko and it’ll be all set
ok but if bruce wayne somehow came upon zuko fresh out of banishment he would lose his mind.
black hair? check. bad parent(s)? check. trauma? double check.
bruce: how’d you get your scar?
zuko: my dad got mad at me for saying that killing people is wrong so he lit my face on fire and banished me.
bruce, vibrating with excitement, already pulling adoption papers from his utilility: that’s terrible. how do you feel about capes.
Yandere ozai?
*GIF not mine*
A/N: Should I start watching Hunter x Hunter? Sorry, that was random. Anyways, just wanna warn you these hcs are a lil out of order, and I’m sorry. When I wrote it, I just kept coming up with more and more ideas for the “story” so I just kept adding to it. Anyways, hope you like it!
Word count: 956
First of all, you’re a maid in the castle. Yeah, of course he’s seen you in the halls and thought you were attractive, but he never really gave it more thought.
Then Zuko and Azula’s mother left, and that’s when he got hooked on you. He felt lost and you, being the ever-faithful servant, stayed by his side and comforted him.
(We are talking about adults here. You did have sex with him for “comfort.”)
Anyways, after that, you had sealed your fate. While you tried to get on with your life, Ozai wasn’t as forgetful.
Honestly, I think this guy is one of those yanderes who initially don’t want to admit or believe they love you.
Like first, he’ll try other concubines. Women who will bow down to him and such.
Then he’ll finally resort to keeping you near, allowing you to continue being a maid and such (because he initially planned on kicking you to the curb after your night together), but he still doesn’t like that he likes you.
Part of him just feels… addicted. Like he doesn’t want to lose you. But he doesn’t like having that attachment.
Honestly, he’ll want to blame his obsession on you, like make you feel bad for it and stuff.
He’ll keep trying to show off with other women in the castle.
Making out with them during breakfast and such while you’re serving them and you’re just standing around like “did you want eggs or…”
Then, at some point, he doesn’t exactly give in to his feelings, but he understands that as the leader of the world, it doesn’t matter who he’s with.
Ozai’s not really self-concious of you ruining his image; if anything, he kinda wants to use you to flaunt how he can transform someone from rags to riches.
At that point, he’s really fallen for you. He’s on the verge of taking over the world, his rebelling son is still banished, and he’s about to take over the last city that stands a chance against him: Ba Sing Se.
It’s a toss up of whether he wants to flaunt his world to you or to flaunt you to his world.
You better treat everything he does like it’s amazing. Seriously, this guy is pure ego.
If he gifts you something (which is something he does often), you must always repay him. Whether this is sexual or compassionate just depends on his moods.
Maybe I’m wrong about this, but I really don’t think Ozai is the type of yandere to be like “you should feel blessed to be with me,” especially after he’s fallen for you. Initially? Yeah sure, he may have thought that a few times. But after he’s acknowledged the fact that he can’t let you go, I don’t think he’d rub his love in your face too much. He’d be more obsessed with showing you what he can do.
You’re his world now, and giving you the entire world is his perfect gift.
In the end, of course he’s captured for attempting to do this, and his third or fourth thought is “oh shit, where’s YN?”
He orders the last of all the Ozai loyalists to capture you and, I’ll be frank, he wants you to go out “together even in death” style.
With a forced kiss, he’ll make you drink poison in his cell while he holds you in his arms (he ignores your struggling and crying). After the life has faded from your body, he takes his own swig and you go out together.
Anyways, back to before all of this (sorry this is so out of order) right after you had sex with him to comfort his wife leaving, I think he more fell for you because you symbolized a new hope for him.
He had made you feel so good that night. Deep down, he wanted to keep making you feel that good.
Ozai wanted to prove to you but mostly himself that he could keep a woman and please her. He wanted his ex-wife to regret leaving him, so he was going to give you the world.
Getting right back into it, he is a crazed king, mind you, so he will use his power for self-gain. If you’re talking to someone, no matter the gender, he’s going to banish them.
(Of course if they touch you, their life is the price of their misdeed.)
You, on the other hand, are also forced to take responsibility for your mistakes.
It’s not uncommon that he’ll lock you away to keep you from interacting with others, but if you’re wrong-doings are especially horrible, whippings and burnings are not uncommon. (Plus, he likes the sight of his fire touching and permanently marking your skin. It’s like a physical claim no one, not even you, can get rid of. It keeps you knowing your place.)
There’s really no list of rules Ozai has set for you, but they’ve become clear to you over the years you’ve been with him.
1: No contact with others.
2: Always repay your lord for his kindness.
3: Bow when he enters and leaves a room.
4: Give him a kiss or more whenever he acknowledges your presence.
5: Never disobey an order from your master.
Truly, being with Ozai is quite simple: learn your place and no one gets hurt.
Ozai is so pathetic, like that “take his bending away haha he’s harmless now” trick would never have worked on Zuko, if you took his bending away he’d just grab his swords and come at you twice as hard, Azula doesn’t have swords or anything but she’s pretty good at hand to hand and amazing at talking her way out of problems, Iroh bust himself out of prison with no bending at all, meanwhile Ozai? Gets his bending taken away and then just collapses, doesn’t even try anymore, then just sits in prison and tries to get into Zuko’s head some more, he could have trained up and tried to break out too! But no! Bet he can’t break steel bars with his bare hands. Bet he can’t kick a steel lever in two. Bet he can’t even do a flip.
Also we never really see him do any really impressive firebending apart from when he has magic comet power, I guesss he shoots some lightning at Zuko, but that’s it and Azula is still better at the lightning thing. Azula has blue flames. Zuko can do firebreakdancing and bend with his swords. Does Ozai, who is not 14 years old, have blue flames? No he doesn’t.
He didn’t even do his coup himself, Ursa had to kill Azulon for him! Could have just challenged Iroh to an Agni Kai for the throne but he didn’t bc he knew he’d lose.
And then he only ruled for like 6 years! He lost a war that had been going on for 100 years bc of a bunch of kids.
Loserlord indeed
Iroh: you know when I was your age...
Ozai: when I was your height?
Iroh:
Iroh: listen here you little shit
Ozai: "You must capture the Avatar to regain your honor."
Zuko: "Instructions unclear, ending up joining him to overthrow you."
Idk I might make more of these tbh also boomer ozai canon (idk that he's in his 40s) ᕙ(@°▽°@)ᕗ
The major arcana is finished!!!!!!!
I'm thinking of getting this printed in a mini zine. If you're interested please let me know since I'm looking for distributers for a copy for myself at least.
Commissions are open and info can be found here
My ko-fi is here
GUYS I THINK THAT THE LA ATLA IS PRETTY GOOD GUYS LIKE.
YES, katara isnt angry enough but is it really 2010 bad? its also the writers fault not the actress like kiawentiio is SOOOO katara in all of the interviews etc
YES, ozai is hot BUT thats seriously doesnt excuse THE CHILD ABUSE!!!! yall can simp for him but dont condone his actions :))))))
YES, zuko is sassy af THATS HOW HES SUPPOSED TO BE LIKE. did we seriously watch the same show
SOKKAS' ACTOR IS NOT WHITE, like if he was and he got the role, it's the casting directors's fault. they didn't know what they were auditioning for, so i don't see why he would've lied about his background. plus, he really doesn't look white, like at all. and seriously, how would you feel if someone told you that you were lying about your race
A quote from me, about Ozai:
"He beat his own 13 year old and said..yeah.. i can beat all 13 year olds”
homophobic lesbian icon fujozula strikes again
extra:
there are a lot of bad takes in the atla fandom (like, atla fandom may as well be a bad take generator) but something that has really been pissing me off lately is the assumption that you can categorize the fire nation royal family into good guys and bad guys. first of all, obviously, they're all bad guys. they are imperialists. but the idea that "sozin ozai azula bad" and "iroh lu ten ursa zuko azulon(?!) good" is actually insane.
lu ten died attempting to conquer the earth kingdom. lu ten was there because his father, iroh, was leading the siege. ursa laughed when iroh joked about burning ba sing se to the ground. zuko laughed too, mirroring his dear mother who taught him about the wonders of imperialism. and the fact that some people think that azulon was a good guy because he favored iroh is crazy. he favored iroh because iroh was the better imperialist, was more charming and tactically savvy as he bent the world to his will. people who think that azulon didn't like ozai because ozai was cruel literally have it backwards. ozai was cruel because azulon didn't like him. sozin shaped azulon, and azulon shaped iroh and ozai. azulon reigned for most of the war, and he was responsible for decimating the southern water tribe and colonizing the earth kingdom.
iroh only realizes the error of his ways well into middle age, after spending a majority of his life colonizing the world. he only stops to reconsider once he experiences the adverse effects of war for himself through the loss of his son. likewise, zuko can only gain empathy for the victims of the war by being one himself, as a refugee in the earth kingdom, and bonding with people who have been hurt by the fire nation. azula doesn't get that chance. ozai doesn't get that chance. azulon, lu ten, and ursa are dead, so they will never get that chance. but it's not like there is some ontological moral divide separating azula from zuko. zuko was a sensitive child whereas azula was better at embodying fire nation values of power and cunning. zuko was punished for his outbursts whereas azula knew how to keep her mouth shut. therefore, zuko experienced circumstances that led him to disavow fire nation imperialism.
but that doesn't mean that azula is ontologically evil. azula was the iroh of her generation to zuko's ozai, and iroh (eventually) disavowed conquest as well. there is no inherent divide between good and bad, monster and human. ursa was a warm and loving mother to zuko, just as iroh was a warm and loving father to lu ten, but they both laughed at others' suffering. their values were shaped by their circumstances and experiences. their ideologies do not make them less human, or less capable of change, just as their interpersonal behaviors do not negate their abhorrent ideologies.
Hawkstar design for yall
Please ignore the biology of him being a calico and colourpoint and having kids all at the same time
Also I think this is unironically my favorite Warriors design I’ve like ever done he’s so silly and snarky looking I would let him burn my nation to the ground :3
“You will learn respect, and suffering will be your teacher.”
Another crossover au post but this time I’ve given them clan names
At the current point, Zuko is known as Seapaw (at 7 moons old), and Ozai is known as Hawkstar (like 60 moons??? Idk)
I’ll post some refs soon, I have a whole sketchbook worth of crossover content now so I’m gonna slowly translate a bunch to digital and post it lol
made this and thought it was really funny for no reason
Seeing people say that Aang should’ve killed Ozai is crazy because we all know Ozai would’ve rather died than lose his bending and by extension his ability to exert control over his people and the rest of the world. Ultimately death would’ve been a mercy, now Ozai has to spend the rest of his of life weak and powerless, rotting away in a jail cell. Also he has to spend the rest of his life knowing he got his ass beat by a 12 year old.
After seeing the actor au for Voltron and @avatarsymbolism and I’s conversation, I decided to make one for ATLA:
The cast is one big happy family
Sokka and Katara are brother and sister, while Zuko and Azula are not (though they act like it)
Katara never auditioned for her part and had never acted before but when she went in to read lines with Sokka, the directors loved her so much they casted her on the spot
Toph is actually blind and her scripts are all written in braille
Both Aang and Toph are child actors and Iroh is the most well known. The rest (excluding Katara) all dabbled in having minor parts on other shows
The cast keeps an “honor count” to see how many times they can get Zuko to say honor on set (it’s well past 100)
They also have a war to see who can mess up the most while filming
The special effects team loves to play jokes on the cast too. When Zuko pretends to firebend, farting sounds come out instead. Safe to say everyone dies laughing
After their first kiss on screen, Sokka and Suki started to date off set
Aang adopted a dog and cat, naming them Appa and Momo respectively
At comic con, Toph loves to spread around rumors when asked questions
And as a joke at comic con, they like to cosplay a different character from the show, ie. Zuko as Sokka, Katara as Azula….
Zuko and Azula have to wear contacts. Her eyes are brown, while his are blue
Even after the show ended, everyone stayed great friends and hang out regularly for coffee and tea
Also, under heavy make up, Zuko, Katara, Sokka, Aang, and Toph all guest starred as their older selves on Legend of Korra
I don't think I'll ever get over the fact that there were hundreds of people in attendance when Ozai burned Zuko. Like... they were watching a grown man mutilate his 13-year-old son. They were practically witnessing a murder attempt. And I just can't help but wonder what they thought and felt at that moment...
This always got to me. Zuko’s trauma runs so deep. People just kind of see it as this one incident, but it was so severe. Ozai took a little, wide-eyed, optimistic, loving, kind boy– his own son, and mutilated him in public. He intentionally humiliated him. He brought him out in front of all of the noble people to add humiliation, watched him grovel and sob and beg in front of hundreds. He mutilated him, caused him unfathomable physical pain that would have any human hospitalized for months– months. A burn like that can kill you. It was so serious.
The emotional trauma from that would haunt anyone for their entire lives. That would give so many PTSD, even, I’m sure. That was so targeted and calculated and fucked up, and it’s so disgusting and sick how that was only the tip of the iceberg of what Ozai did to Zuko. He groomed him to think he was worthless. It was all so disgusting. Zuko deserves so much love omfg. Katara would hate him so much.
Mai only directly supports him, though. She calls Zuko a traitor in Boiling Rock for standing against him in DOBS and she indirectly helps Ozai try to reclaim the throne in the comics.
Disgusting.
From the search part 2 …When Ozai and Ursa make a deal.
I feel like ozai doesn’t get enough credit as a character because a) people see him as an individual actor as opposed to the product of a system designed to produce someone exactly like himself and ensure that they have utmost power within said system and b) his children are, by design, given more narrative space and depth than he is, making them much more compelling and sympathetic characters. but just because his limited screentime and lack of nuance makes him static and unsympathetic doesn’t make him a bad character. his narrative role is to represent the ideology of the fire nation, and he executes that role perfectly.
I still have this cap from the official Avatar site and it’s no longer updated so you can find a lot old concepts. I find it pretty strange how different the two Ursas are.
In the original animated canon (discontinued and overridden):
Ursa was originally written as a Fire Nation noblewoman who got along very well with Ozai when they were younger. She loved him dearly and her proper lady upbringing made her an ideal future princess. Fire Lord Azulon and the Fire Sages arranged a marriage between Ozai and Ursa due to their strong compatibility. Zuko recalls times his family was “actually happy” before Ozai became mad and abusive. Ursa was supposed to appear in Book Four but the entire season ended up being scrapped after Paramount bought the rights to create a three-season trilogy. They later decided to have her return in the Avatar finale but she was cut out at the request of Bryan Konietzko. Ozai’s thirst for power and control itself probably stemmed from his feelings of inadequacy when compared to his prodigious elder brother and favored son of Azulon, Iroh. This is why Zuko sparing Azula’s life and wanting to help her despite their twisted relationship was seen as a major catalyst in creating an era of peace.
In the new comics canon (considered to be official):
The new Avatar comics have changed Ursa into a lower-class theater actress who hated Ozai and was forced to marry him as a part of a eugenics experiment the Fire Sages believed in. Their relationship is never shown to be happy and is like absolutely nothing you could call a “perfect match”. Ozai was always power hungry and abusive. He never cared for his family members unless they were of any use to him. Ursa has remained in love with her childhood friend Ikem for years and marries him after she runs away from the Fire National Capital. She asks for help from a spirit known as the Mother of Faces to erase her memories, change her face, and give her the name “Noriko”. She later has a daughter called Kiyi with Ikem (who likewise was given a new face and the name “Noren”). Zuko meets Noriko and she decides she must confront her past and became Ursa again. Her youngest daughter, Kiyi despises this change as she has only known Noriko and not Ursa all her life. Azula is grief-stricken with the fact that Ursa had a good relationship with her half-sister and never with her.
my ooc description of this fucked up relationship
based on legacy and atla
Aang takes the place of markus as leader of the divergent, zuko takes the character of connor, iroh is Hank and azula and ozai are rk900 and Amanda respectively.
--------------------------------------
"Lieutenant Anderson, my name is Zuko. I am the android sent by cyberlife. I looked for you at the station but nobody knew where you were. They said you were probably having some tea. I was lucky to find you in the fourth tea shop."
Rk800 took a moment to inspect the store and the few customers who were in it.
No one had a criminal record.
"What do you desire?"
The person the lieutenant had been talking to ignored them in favor of cleaning the table in front of him, Iroh gave him a small look of recognition.
"You were assigned a case earlier tonight. A homicide, involving a cyberlife android." The lieutenant did not respond but made a grin that Zuko could not identify. "according to the procedure, the company has assigned a specialized model to help investigators."

If anyone is interested in making a fanfic with this idea, I'd love to read it.
First of all, my English is practically non-existent so I'm using a translator. I really wanted to share because if I couldn't sleep, I'm sorry.
Avatar Tangled Au(?
This story begins with the sun.
Then, a long time ago, a drop of sunlight fell from the sky and out of this little drop of sunshine, grew a magical golden flower.
This flower had the ability to heal the sick and wounded.
One day the second son of the fire Lord found her and that day something more was learned about the gift of agni: it increased the power of fire control.
Naturally, the prince jealously kept the flower for himself.
Years passed and when the prince's wife told him that she was pregnant he could not help but fill his body with joy.
But his happiness did not last long, his beloved wife fell ill. She was going to die, her son was going to die.
However, his older brother refused to let him go through the pain of losing his wife and started looking for a miracle, or in this case a magical golden flower.
The magic of the flower saved the life of princess Ursa and ozai not only won a son, he had found a new magical flower.
But this time he would make sure no one could take it away.
"Why can't I go out?" the little boy sighed in frustration.
"The outside world isa dangerous place, full of horrible and selfish people." with a smile, ozai brushes her son's long hair. "You must stay here, where you are safe, do you understand, sunbeam?"
"Yes daddy"
Can we all agree it's canon
this is what the fandom needs to understand 🤦♀️ couldn’t have worded it better
I really think "Aang should not have killed Ozai" and "there is ample reason for Ozai to be dead" are two statements that can absolutely coexist.
Aang would have had to give up the teachings and philosophy of his culture, that he is the sole survivor of, in order to kill Ozai, who already mocked his culture for being "weak" and "not deserving to exist in this world." Aang choosing not to kill Ozai is a testament to his and his people's strength and it takes Ozai's words and makes him eat them.
Anyone else? They don't face the same responsibility. If it had been them to face Ozai, then they would have every reason to kill him.
But the reason it was Aang who faced him is the same reason that Aang didn't kill him. Ozai was forced to look at the last member of a culture who his ancestors wiped off the face of the earth, to look at someone who he viewed as lesser, as primitive, as weak, and to be defeated by that person without them ever giving up their people's philosophy, even when he thought that murder and violence was the only way to show strength and "deserving" of existing. It's more complicated than "Ozai should have died."
did you guys know i love piandao
