One of the most life-changing things I ever learned came from Mythbusters, where they tested and proved (with cognitive testing puzzles and reaction time tests) that lying down and resting with the intention to sleep STILL provided significant mental benefits over just staying awake, even if a person couldn’t fall asleep in the amount of time they had.
It helps me to actually sleep to know that just lying down with my eyes closed is still doing me some good, and helps me to not freak out/beat myself up when I stay up later than intended. Any amount of rest is better than no rest!
So if you didn’t know that…now you do
mythbusters was so good because it wasn't a killjoy show. they didn't just say "see, it doesn't work" and leave it there
whenever they find that the stunt doesn't work as portrayed in the movie, they immediately ask "what would it take to make this happen?"
Even better if it's the actual Mythbusters testing the tropes.
Is sexual tension inevitable when there's only one bed?
If my best friend has a sibling, will I fall in love with them?
Will I meet my future spouse in my favorite local coffee shop?
Adam and Jaime will find out in this episode of Tropebuster!
I just realized that Jamie and Adam of Mythbusters ...
... both look a fair amount like Alex Sector from M.A.S.K.
Hm. Adam's beard is closer, but Jamie wouldn't have to shave his head. I doubt either of them could pull off the accent, though.
I saw the lastest ask
Can we have a Mythbusters and house md cover thingy? (Like the one you do with the music artists)
here you are, hope these are okay!! I wasn’t sure which cover to do for house, so I just went with the season 1 one ^_^” if you’d like the rest of them just let me know!
Me Oog spend 3 day try humping and bust open with thigh bone

The dudes from mythbusters are the ultimate unstoppable force vs immovable object,, every time they interact its just
mythbusters was such a trip, watching every episode is a total blast!
I will be 70 years old and I still will never have gotten over the time the Mythbusters used a rocket powered steel wall to - and I use this word as literally as possible - vaporize an entire car into red mist
I think what made the Mythbusters special was this: of course they would always ask, and test, “could the circumstances of the myth produce the described result?” but they ALSO always took the extra step to “under what circumstances, no matter how extreme, could the described result be achieved? ” and it was fucking spectacular every time
jumped in excitement without thinking when mythbusters made the tennis volley on the airplane, hit my hand pretty hard on my ceiling fan
good thing i also just watched the “fans can decapitate you” myth get busted 😬
