this is great actually! like we're a great believer in casual kink like kink that just runs as an undercurrent rather than being the focus like it is in scenes.

like when you do the cooking in just an apron, or game in a catsuit, or you're just watching tv but you've been tied up, or you've got like an 'i love you' trigger that does something special when you're just having a cuddle or out and about. it's about just existing in a horny space while the horny isn't the focus. instead of boxing up all the horny and opening up the box when you finally get to scene, it's about living in that box. casual horny is why we have day collars and kink gear that's invisible to vanilla folks. it's being available on a whim, and just living in a kinky/horny space without it being the centre of attention. like it's obvious but also it's not a big deal, it's just expressing a side of yourself openly where society would have you hide it. it's about wearing your kinks on your sleeve, and not feeling the pressure of a scene while still getting to feel kinky and horny. it's about being your true self while doing the stuff that everyone has to do.

So for members of bdsm Dungeons, it's a rule that you don't approach other members if you see them on public for privacy reasons. They might not want people knowing they're a freak.

That said, it's normal to make friends in that space who you hang out with, outside of kink stuff. When that happens and people asked where I met my friend, my go-to line was "Spin-class," which is a very funny joke if you know me even a little. Very not my scene.

Well, funnily enough, while I was working at a homeless shelter, we had a very similar rule because of the homeless stigma. If a guest from the Shelter sees you outside of work, you don't acknowledge or approach them. They can approach you, but you don't tell whoever you're with where you know them. The guest gets to decide if they want to share that info.

Smash cut to me being out with a friend I met at the dungeon a very long time ago. I bump into a guest from the shelter who approaches me to chat. My friend asks how I know the guest, and without thinking, I blurt out "spin class" before remembering that's my go to lie for how I ment dungeon friends. These two proceed to have a conversation, neither fully understood.

Friend: ooohhhh okay i get it. Spin class! Me too. Stopped taking that class a while ago tho.

Guest. Oh for real? That's sick man, good for you! You got a good set up now?

Friend: The best!! I've taken up wood working so my furniture is all custom. Got plenty of space to do "spin" at home. It's coming together.

Guest: Hell yeah brother!!!

Friend: was really good to have my own space during the rona, but man it's lonely! I kinda miss the group dynamics.

Guest: Yeah, i heard that from my homie when he got out of "Spin class!" But it's for the best.

Friend: it can be, but its not for everybody. Can be safer to Spin in a group.

I see posts go by periodically about how modern audiences are impatient or unwilling to trust the creator. And I agree that that's true. What the posts almost never mention, though, is that this didn't happen in a vacuum. Audiences have had their patience and trust beaten out of them by the popular media of the past few decades.

J J Abrams is famous for making stories that raise questions he never figures out how to answer. He's also the guy with some weird story about a present he never opened and how that's better than presents you open--failing to see that there's a difference between choosing not to open a present and being forbidden from opening one.

You've got lengthy media franchises where installments undo character development or satisfying resolutions from previous installments. Worse, there are media franchises with "trilogies" that are weird slap fights between the makers of each installment.

You've got wildly popular TV shows that end so poorly and unsatisfyingly that no one speaks of them again.

On top of that, a lot of the media actively punishes people for engaging thoughtfully with it. Creators panic and change their stories if the audience properly reacts to foreshadowing. Emotional parts of storytelling are trampled by jokes. Shocking the audience has become the go to, rather than providing a solid story.

Of course audiences have gotten cynical and untrusting! Of course they're unwilling to form their own expectations of what's coming! Of course they make the worst assumptions based on what's in front of them! The media they've been consuming has trained them well.

Every word that starts with an N should have a silent G in front. Gnorway. Gnuclear. Gnervous system. Gnipples.

Please understand this is a drastic failure of scientific reporting. What they have done is impressive science, but they have not brought dire wolves back.

They found a few gene fragments that were in dire wolves and manufactured similar in wolves.

To quote a reddit thread: it's like putting a few words of hamlet in another play and claiming its hamlet.

We have put jellyfish genes in cats to make them glow: those cats are not now jellyfish.

It's impressive to be able to identify and insert the genes like that, but these are not dire wolves and, to be frank, do not even resemble current models of dire wolves.

I want to make this clear. It is an impressive scientific achievement.

But the communication here is near outright fraudulent in my opinion.
