On my tier list game. These are my favorites, and I won't be showing my least favorites because I don't want to be eradicated
MHA CREDITS TIER LIST FOR THOSE OF YOU WITH OPINIONS
Hey guys. I spent way too long making this. Here it is for you nerds who want to spend some time ranking your favorite intros and credits
Here is mine! (See below cut for in-depth analysis)
Season one intro one- THE DAY
A solid B tier. The song’s pretty good, alway jam out to the “meku meku” line (my personal fave.) An absolute classic but kind of basic compared to some others. I do love how it includes the whole class but so does every other one. Just average.
Season one credits one
C tier. The song is a pretty good jam but kind of basic and doesn’t go as all-out as some of the others. Pretty basic imagery too, but it’s the credits so it’s not supposed to be amazing. Just eh. Also idk about anyone else but I’ve always felt like the ending is super abrupt? Ever since I watched it the first time.
intro two
High C tier- okay I guess. I’ve listened to the whole song and me personally I think it’s just a case of them using too much of the boring part of it lmao. I know a lot of people like this one bc of Bakugo stretching and whatevs but the stretching part is sooo long and they’re all in these random places and when I was watching through the show I remember skipping this one a lot. It also just doesn’t go as hard as the other intros idk might just be me. Cool tokoyami moment in there though that’s worth mentioning.
Credits two
F tier. I know I KNOW it’s the girls and they’re hanging outtttttt and sad Ochacoooooo but it’s so boring I wanted to cry watching it on purpose it’s slow the song isn’t my taste it’s the opposite of my favorites and I don’t want to talk about it anymore.
Intro three
S TIER IT SO GOOD AGHHHH. The song is one of my favorites if not my absolute favorite I listen to it unironically the natewantstobattle version is so good I have it memorized, It has Kurogiri and Tokoyami. I love the part where the “ahahah” part happens as Gran Torino appears it’s just so goofy, the Stain imagery gets me every time it’s just UGH amazing.
Credits three
Another easy S tier. I love the creative world of it I love the part where Todoroi’s horse runs away I love Denki’s face at the end I love that Tokoyami’s riding a giant bird it’s just so visually interesting and I never skipped it because every time I would notice something new. Plus the song is awesome it has energy it has power it has a boppin guitar part it goes so damn hard it’s insane. Easily most captivating; it’s a crime we were robbed of it that one episode where they went to the mall I heard it in the bg but it’s not the same you can’t just scam me out of an episode I love this one.
Intro four
A solid A tier. I think it’s the absolute best they could have done with the song because you go and listen to the regular version of Odd Future and it’s honestly a mess all of the components are there but they’re just not utilized right imo? If that makes any sense? Anyway this adaptation of the song makes it so much better and the visuals are great all of the Shigaraki ones always get me & the All Might ones too for that matter. Really good intro it just doesn’t have me OBSESSED like some of the others do.
Credits four
D tier but only because the song is NOT WHAT I WOULD HAVE CHOSE. It’s so slow and quaint it kind of ruins the whole experience for me sadly :( The visuals in this one are like credits three, so much to see and really visually captivating. I love the comic-style pages and the sketches and all of the things they’re doing (there’s so much Tokoyami, Momo and Jiro were really cute, and there’s some plainclothes Aizawa in there.) The song honestly just saps so much away and if it was any better this would probably end up in A.
Intro five- Make My Story
B tier. Just a flat-out good intro. Nothing great, nothing terrible. The song is pretty good. New characters for the hero license arc. Inasa’s there and he’s my twin. Not a lot to say, it’s just pleasant.
Credits five
D tier. I remember nothing about this one and that honestly should tell me something. Not as flat-out bad as some of the other songs but also kind of slow. Tokoyami’s there. If anything this one just looked kind of goofy, especially when it was getting all emo with Deku and All Might walking. Very bland, but not terrible.
Intro six- Polaris
S TIERRR. A favorite to be sure, I have two dubbed versions of this song injected into my veins because they’re so oc-coded. One of its only crimes is that it’s not the entire song because the ending ROCKS SO HARD THE GUITAR IN THIS SONG IS SO GOOD. The visuals are good, Mirio Eri and Tamaki are there and I like them a lot :) honestly you could have anything going on in the background and I couldn’t care less, this song is SO GOOD. Also have to mention the obligatory anime intro falling in a void scene gotta love that.
Credits six
S tier. The song is a bop, the lore was dropped, it’s on top. I love just watching this one through because THE LOREEE and Eri is so adorable and the song??? It’s so good?? The violin is SHREDDING. My one complaint is that on spotify it’s always weirdly quiet but that’s not in the credits so who cares. Easily a favorite of mine.
Intro seven
A tier. Really fun visuals all the way through, I’ve been looking way too far into Aizawa and that sweater for four years, it’s just aughhh so fun!! The song is pretty good, not a certified banger but still catchy. There’s LOREEE in this intro and I love parsing it out. You see everyone and there’s just so much care in every second! Just a plain good time :)
Credits seven
I AM CONFLICTED. The song is another of my least favorites, F tier song IMO, don’t come at me it’s just my preference. HOWEVER. I am in a very sticky spot, because this is one of the VERY few times in mha that we see my son my child my one and only Shirakumo and I love him and he’s there. Also baby Haws and teen Mirko and baby Mirio/Tamaki and it’s just another very interesting credits with a lot to see. I have decided I am rating these credits B tier but that one picture S tier and I take no notes. (When your favorite character shows up so few times you take what you can get.)
Intro eight
Easy A tier. It has Hawks, it has Tokoyami, it has Shinsou. Good visuals, good song (the guitar goes so hard don’t you get it.) Honestly this part of the show is where I started getting frustrated and tapping out so I didn’t know I would really harbor any nostalgia for this arc. I was surprised when this intro was so pleasant and nostalgic despite this arc being sooo boring. Good intro.
Credits eight
B tier. Cute, love seeing all the little friend groups, wish tokoyami was included in a friend group :( but we persevere. Love tokoyami with his apple, love Aoyama with his cheese, leaning into all of the classics and making me really just feel like “wow, this is MHA.” Nothing breathtaking or terrible. Just straight-up My Hero Academia.
Intro nine
Listen. I was prepared to rank this B or C because I love the song but the intro was trying a little too hard to be serious and not giving me enough of those things to look at and the class and all that. But then I saw and subsequently remembered the frame of Yamada and Aizawa with the cat and immediately changed my ranking to A tier because that IS A SHIRAKUMO REFERENCE. HE WAS NOT THERE BUT HIS PRESENCE WAS FELT. Plus tokoyami was there, hawks was there, the song really is a bop; I listen to it in my real life to get hyped up and energetic or to imagine fight scenes. It got 1-2 ranks higher because my pookie was there. Sometimes that’s how it goes.
Credits nine
Now this is where I REALLY start forgetting what the heck any of this is lmao. However this is Hawks’s moment he is shining in the spotlight so B tier for my boy. The song is mid, I do like how it’s “I will get you out of here” which is like in terms of him having to spy and his childhood so that’s pretty cool and edgy. I still get my fill of 1A, they’ve got their comfy clothes, they’re living it up. A solid credits scene! I wish Endeavor wasn’t in it.
Intro ten
I remember none of this :) However A tier becauseeeee AIZAWA AND YAMADA MAKE ANOTHER SHIRAKUMO REFERENCE you see they’re in the room where “Kurogiri” is trapped and that is where they realize he is in fact our boy my son Shirakumo and that immediately sells it. Also Hawks, also Miruko, also some unexpected awesome Twice and Toga?? A lot of fun things to see and I like that. Also a pretty good bop. Not necessarily an A tier one, but the rest pushes it up :)
Credits ten
B tier. Song isn’t bad, has all my faves mentioned above, Twice and Toga in their dancing pose go so hard. The colors also go so crazy??? I wasn’t expecting to enjoy this as much as I do. Also, and this goes for the intro as well, there’s a lot of Midnight centering and knowing what happens I get it but also NOT COOL she was also an honorary dorkmigo :( and I do miss her. Oh man the cat could have been a Midnight reference too but that’s before she croaks so nah.
Intro 11
C tier. Didn’t hate it but kind of boring, no big lore or fun details really. The song was mid. They threw in baby Hawks to try and convince me but I’m tougher than that. All in all very emo and kinda bland but that’s when the show starts getting like that sooo ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Credits 11
B tier. “The story so far” ahh credits but the story so far is so much less bleak than how things are currently going. It was nostalgic to see all the stuff that happened because that’s the part of the show that really feels alive and like MHA to me. The song’s ok, visuals maybe a bit bland, but it has that feel of home. This is the MHA I like to remember.
Intro 12
C tier. The music is terrible. The voice is so nasal and the style makes me so anxious IMO it’s just not for me. However, they gave us a lot of stuff to look at with the crazy visuals. Obviously I’m mentioning the Shirakumo reference with Aizawa Yamada and “Kurogiri” (guys he’s not kurogiri guys that’s wrong.) Also amputee Miruko with her short hair is GORGEOUS she looks so pretty. If only this was a bop, it would have been easy A tier. (can you tell I’m losing patience with this show??)
Intro 13
HELLO??? IS THE MAN NEXT TO AIZAWA SHIRAKUMO OR AM I TWEAKING I DO NOT HAVE HULU ATM HAS THE REVEAL HAPPENED IN THE ANIME YET??? THERE ARE NO CLIPS ON YOUTUBE anywayyyyy A tier especially if that’s real alive Oboro Shirakumo bc there was so much lore so many fun things I am honestly too distracted to make a comprehensive explanation right now someone please just tell me if that’s him because if it is I will freak the fuck out. Also the video on youtube I found was subbed and uhhhhh check out Neobrane’s MHA opening 13 it is a treat.
One week until the new chapter, but man will I still be mourning the loss of Shirakumo. Let’s hope for some Tokoyami and hawks, I guess……
MHA 423 SPOILERS
Listen writing this after the chapter is more devastating than you could ever know ok
Listen I can’t even write this like I’m live reacting but my thoughts were along the likes of “hmmmm what’s this now? Maybe he’s breaking free and going to be Shirakumo and be happy :) :) :)”…
Here I was like: “what the heck man, he was getting better!! But you know what, maybe he’ll get better when Shigaraki dies and this is a temporary regression.”
And here I EXPERIENCED THE FIVE STAGES OF GRIEF ALL AT ONCE BECAUSE THEY REALLY HAD TO DESTROY THE TWO HUNDRED CHAPTERS I HAD TO WAIT BEFORE THE FLASHBACK AND NOW HES GONE-GONE at least i’m pretty sure he is from his particles literally fading away and I know this might seem like an overly strong reaction to the death of a character that had barely any time in the main series but I have a deep appreciation for Shirakumo and he deserved better than this. Maybe this is all a fake-out and those particles are the Kurogiri-ness leaving him and now he’s free to be Shirakumo free of Kurogiri and that may be stupid but that’s all I have.
Anyway yayyy the conclusion we’ve been waiting for since chapter/episode one I’m happy that we got here but did we really have to sacrifice Shirakumo to do it? I don’t think so. Looking forward to a sparse amount of panels with Hawks and Tokoyami, but my pride and joy is now deceased :(
MHA chapter 422 SPOILERS

Another banger chapter however I was never given an explanation as to Shirakumo’s glorping and I am concerned as to the implications this could hold for my future wellbeing. Thankfully, only a week’s wait for the next chapter and by golly I better find out why Shirakumo got glorped
1 week for the new chapter 🙏🏻 praying that we see more Shirogiri or whatever this 50/50 combo is called. Also like one single frame of Hawks and Tokoyami wouldn’t be half bad. You know, just a thought
MHA chapter 420 spoilers
I HAVE WAITED FOR MONTHS LITERALLY SINCE THE START OF THIS SUPER LONG BATTLE AND I’M LITERALLY SO CALM SO CHILL SO COOL AND RELAXED RN
they could have given my man more than like 7 pages BUT BUT BUT
THIS??? ARE YOU KIDDING ME???
he’s in there and he can cry and he’s a high schooler and their job is to help him reach graduation I am so so so so calm
If he doesn’t get rewound or restored I am going to explode IF HE DIES??? (Again) FOR THE SAKE OF THE “NARRATIVE”??? I WILL ACTUALLY SCREAM he had so much lead up. They made such a big deal saving the reveal of what Aizawa and Yamada were doing. If they throw that all away and he dies again I might actually cry.
Anyway love the promise of what’s happening next, coming full circle with the class and that, Aizawa fathering his class again just like old times. Bittersweet to be sure. Sad that Tokoyami’s passed out in the middle of a crater with severe burns so he can’t be there but you can’t win ‘em all you know
MHA NEW CHAPTER SPOILERS
ARE WE GOING TO GET THE KUROGIRI CLOSURE THAT I’VE BEEN WAITING THE LAST THIRTY CHAPTERS FOR??? FINALLY??? MY SON SHIRAKUMO??? I’m so normal about this um yeah yeah yeah
Also the three most forgettable class 1a members saving the day is crazyyyy like I saw Sato and Ojiro and I actually gasped this chapter is throwing many many good thingsssssssss
My dearest dearest hope for next chapter is a flashback to what was happening with Aizawa Mic and Kurogiri because I have been BEGGING for Shirakumo restoration for like over a year and it’s!!! It’s coming!!!!! I really want to see him next chapter and if I do boy you’ll be hearing about it

Mic takes 30 minutes to do his hair in the morning, Aizawa takes an hour just to get out of bed, and Oboro is cheater. His hair just floats there

Idk why he thought asking Hizashi to ask him that was a good idea when he could’ve just asked himself and probably would’ve gotten an actual answer but you know. Silly boys will do silly things
One thing that is now unfair to ask is...what is Nine's name? Look hori treated him as an afterthought but his lack of origins works better than the comical twnko's origins.
Yes his family was all killed thanks to him but ...I can't help to think that scene was too ridiculous.
We never saw anyone mentioned them again, not even shig. (He remembers them in MVA and we do see the disgusting human puppet hori flay around) But that's it.
So Nine...
Im not one of those people who think a new character needs to be related to a pre stabelished one. Nine doesn't need to be a Todoroki, Shimura or hell even a lost Midoriya (hahahahahahaha as if hori would care for this family)
But ....imagine if Nine was related to Oboro, somehow, wouldn't that be interesting?
Maybe, maybe not.
Oboro's character became a thing to turns Aizawa into a better character...and fails. Kuro was sacrificed for nothing.
The thing about Shigaraki/Tenko backstory is that it feels... a bit overdramatic?
Well we can say that about his whole character, but the part of his backstory in particular when he kills his family is so exagerated for the sake of shock value that it kinda feels comical.
Horikoshi tried a bit too hard on make MVA feel like the edgier and "different" arc of the series, but the contrast in so big that I can't take it seriously.
Especially when Hori already nailed a dark tone without being super explicit or over the top.
Take the simplicity of Eri's backstory for example:
No blood, no unnecessary violence, just two panels giving a basic idea of what happened to Eri's father and yet the image of those clothes lying on the floor is much more haunting and eerie than the enterity of Shigaraki backstory.
Why Horikoshi stop being subtle with his storytelling?
...
Anyway going back to Nine real name, or the lack of one, I think it's interesting how that aspect of his character adds to the underlying theme of how AFO and Garaki dehumanize people, especially the ones that are part of their experiments.
We know very well how AFO doesn't view other human being as persons but rather objects that belong to him. This starts with his very own twin brother, which name Yoichi means something like "my first possesion".
And just like Nine, number 6 from Vigilantes was a child which whole life was modeled by AFO. They both are just numbers without a real name.
In this case the idea is presented even more explicitly because Six was a child who suffered some kind of amnesia and couldn't even view himself as a normal human with a face.
He even died as a monster without ever know if he had an identity outside being the number 6.
It's funny how you mention the idea of Nine and Shirakumo being connected somehow, as isn't the first time I've hear that.
It's interesting notice how they share this common theme about sky and clouds as part of who they are (Nine's name also is supposedly a reference to the term "cloud nine") both Nine and Oboro are individuals willing to sacrifice their own lifes for others, and ironically both of them ended being experimented by Dr Garaki.
I even have the headcanon of Kurogiri being the "Number 7" in this line of experiments were Nine and Six belong, as sort of missing link between Six and the sentient nomus.
I probably should make a post later explaining better this idea.
And yes for Horikoshi, Shirakumo was just a diposable character to make Aizawa look cooler and more edgy.
While the author of Vigilantes clearly invested a lot of effort on making Oboro a real and memorable character which complements Aizawa rather than just being an accesory. But that topic deserves it's own post as well.
P.S: I have an idea of what real name we could give to Nine, but I keep it for me at least for the moment.

Honestly, more needs to be written about him I'm so deprived of new content 😭😭😭😭😭
Anyways I hope you enjoy this quick warning; I am dyslexic so I'm sorry if I spell or use gramma incorrectly 😭

I feel like Oboro is the type to wake up early for his birthday. He's just so excited to see what presents he got from his family and friends.
I think his mum also has a little birthday tradition where she makes American style pancakes in the shape of clouds for breakfast (she's done this every year since his 4th birthday).
His presents may include a new LoudCloud jacket ready for hero work, a polaroid camera (I honestly think he's into photography like in the comic strip 'Oboro's photos' which can be found on YouTube), money, video games, and maybe some records.
If his birthday lands on the weekend, he'd probably just have a chill day, ringing relatives and thanking them for their gifts. Shota and Hizashi would most likely come over to play some games and mess around with his new camera, both of which would be invited to a family birthday dinner.
This would probably be the same outcome if his birthday landed on a school day. He'd take his camera to UA taking photos of the school, his friends and lil Sushi; after school he'd go out for his family meal.
Doesn't expect anything expensive for his birthday. I don't believe he's materialistic at all, just wants a little acknowledgement that it is his birthday.
Very appreciative over the things he ends up getting. I can't see him ever throwing out anything handmade; grandma's ugly sweaters that she keeps making for him are hung up nicely in his wardrobe. His little cousins make him a birthday drawing / card they are stored pristinely in his draw. He can't throw them away due the sentimental value that is attached to them.
His classmates at UA probably sing happy birthday to him as he is made to stand up in front of everybody by the teacher who gives him 17 birthday punches. LOVES THIS! the whole time he's laughing, really enjoying himself.
I think getting him to tell you what he wants for his birthday is hard. He doesn't like to be spoilt or brag about anything expensive. The only way to find out what he wants is through listening talk about something; doesn't throw 'hints' but instead hyper fixates on something for MONTHS! doesn't even realise he’s doing it. It's his parents way of figuring out what he genuinely wants without him explicitly saying he wants it.
Convo:
Dad: Hey, Oboro, what do you want for your birthday this year?
Oboro: Ummm, I don't know. I don't really want anything.
Dad: You've got to have something in mind.
Oboro: Nah. (walks away)
5 minutes later:
Oboro: Dad! have you seen this Polaroid camera for sale. It's in working condition and everything. What a steal!
Couple of hours later:
Oboro: That camera is still up, I wonder why nobody has bought it yet.
2 days later:
Oboro: The owner of that camera has uploaded more photos and a video. The polaroid's came out in such good quality!
And over the next couple of weeks, he's constantly checking on the camera and his social media feed is full of photography and old-style cameras, would not shut up about it to his parents and friends. That's until his parents buy him the camera without him knowing. Is a little upset after it's been bought; he was going to personally buy it himself after his birthday.
Just loves spending time with people on his birthday, it's not only special to him but his family as well. His love language is definitely quality time.
If he ever had a girlfriend / boyfriend would probably want to spend the whole day with them even if it was just to hang around inside all day cuddling; however, knowing Oboro's adventurous nature they might arrange a walk or hike somewhere beautiful, taking photos on his new camera whilst enjoying nature with the clear blue sky and the hot kiss of the sun. Definitely a birthday Oboro will enjoy; later when the both of you return and have a shower you go out with his family for a meal to celebrate the last remaining hours of his birthday.
