Waking up to your alarm blaring was not the way anyone should be starting their day. Unfortunately, that has been my routine for the past three weeks. Waking up and turning over, throwing my arm at my phone on the nightstand, just wanting it to stop being so loud. Clicking the button and slowly opening my eyes to the light barely peeking through the blinds as I hear the rain hitting my window, realising that it's raining outside.
Sitting up and rubbing my eyes to fully wake up and I turn and grab my phone to check the time, the phone turns on showing me a glaring 06:27 and I realise that “SHIT, i woke up late!” hopping out of bed and rushing to the bathroom. I debate on whether i have enough time to shower or if ill miss my bus, and ultimately decide on skipping it.
I fly through my routine as quickly as I can, teeth, face, hair, clothes. In a flash I rushed out of my house running and almost tripping over myself just trying to make it to the bus stop.
“fuck, fuck, fuck fuc-” i whisper to myself as i try to avoid the puddles forming on the sidewalk and not pay attention to how my hoodie slowly starts becoming darker the more the rain poured down on me.
“Phone, check. Walet, check. Bus pass, check.” I go over my list to make sure I got everything before slowing down as I spot a bunny rush past me into the alleyway ahead of me. I stare at the alley way before I hear the sounds of pitter pattering behind me but before I could turn to check I fall forward as something crashes into me from behind.
Groaning as I sit up and turning to see what the hell just ran into me and stopping short as I see what or even better WHO ran into me. We make eye contact and I see a very pretty girl with big brown eyes staring at me.
It took me a while before realizing she was talking to me. “...orry, I am so sorry I was just trying to catch my bunny and i didnt see you and I ran into you. Ugh im sorry im sorry i'm rambling again.are you okay?!”
“Um yeah, yeah i'm good” i say as i stare, taking her in. She had a killer bob and big brown eyes with such cute round cheeks. I stand and rush over to help her up. As we stand I realize I'm taller than her. She seemed so cute, so innocent, oh god we gotta stop calling strangers cute, that's how you die, girl pull yourself together.
So focused on my inner monologue I don't notice the girl looking up at me, as she is expecting me to answer her, “ pardon what did you say?” i asked shaking my head to fully ground myself towards her,
She giggles from behind her hand and repeats herself in a smooth voice “it's okay! I just asked if you have seen my bunny." I nod my head and lead her to the alleyway. “The bunny went down here somewhere.”She smiles and thanks me as she runs inside the alleyway. While she was running I finally noticed her clothes, they seemed scratched and had some holes in them but besides that they looked fine and then I noticed those.
Those ears on her head, bunny ears. She was a hybrid, a cute one, omg she is a bunny hybrid. I ran into a bunny hybrid… well she ran into me but whatever. I got pulled out of my thoughts when I heard a notification go off on my phone. It reminded me that the bus was approaching and then I realised I was going to be late for my job. I took off running onwards and reached the bus station just in time to jump on.
I finally make it to the office and walk in, greeting my colleagues before setting up at the reception desk. I started to work before I was interrupted by my manager, Aizawa. He leaned on the desk and as I looked up at him I saw how tired he looked.
“You okay?” I ask softly. He looks at me with a blank expression. “Come on, follow me to the back.” I was taken aback and sat there frozen before rushing to follow him down the hallway to the back. As we are walking, I question him. “Am i in trouble” i start sweating a little, mind racing, and coming up with every issue i could think of. “No” he said with no emotions what-so-ever which made me sweat even more.
I open my mouth to say something but come up short. As we approach it I begin to panic and accidentally blurt out “am i fired? I don't think i did anything, i didn't mean to-” i ramble listing off anything i can think. I continue as he opens his door and gestures for me to sit. I go silent once he closes the door and sit in front of me.
We sit in silence for what felt like eternity and then he looks me dead in the eyes and hands me a folder.
“Um… what is this”
“That is everything you'll need to know for your promotion.”
I accept his folder and just sit there in silence.
“You're no longer our receptionist, you will be working with me in the back taking care of the hybrids.”
“Oh.. thank you so much!! Omg thank you i can't beli-”
“That will be all. Shut the door on your way out”
He cuts me off and I stand and make my way out of his office so I don't make more of a fool of myself in front of him. I go back to my desk and smile as I sit. Happy to finally make more money. I put the folder in my bag and finally get back to work for the rest of the day wondering who ill met unaware of the eyes following me when i was walking with Aizawa.

"I'll take her."
Did you hear him right? You think that's what you heard the man say... How odd, he had only gotten not even a look at your battered form, not even seen how you fight, and yet he's going to take you. You slowly turn once more to peer over your shoulder at the man on the other side of the bars; Ghost- you heard the workers call him.
With narrowed eyes you know what's about to happen, it happens every time you're chosen for a job and must be transferred. Gas starts to come up from holes in your cell, making your vision grow hazy and slowly start to fall asleep.
Ghost watches from the other side of your cell, watching in discomfort as your gassed to sleep, your now lifeless body being manhandled by the workers that entered your cell the second you were down. Ghost shifts in his spot as he sees your wrists and ankles chained together in pair with a muzzle around your mouth that sits over your lower face and wraps around tightly to the back of your head.
"Is this necessary..?"
Ghost speaks up and glares at one of the workers bringing you to your feet and dragging you out the doors of the facility and towards the chopper. The worker that he got a hold of nods his head and makes a gesture for Ghost to follow him as they walk to the chopper.
"Yes sir- she's... Not always privy to being assigned to a new handler- this is just for insurance that she won't lash out."
Ghost just grunts in response, this was going to be a pain in his ass. You were going to be a pain in his ass. The Lieutenant watches as you're forcefully shoved into a cage in the back of the chopper, his dark eyes beneath his mask narrowing as you're locked in and your chains are secured to the hull of the chopper. With one last glance at the facility, Ghost climbs into the back of the chopper, choosing to take one of the seats near where you're caged.
When the chopper lifts off the tarmac, Ghost notices you flinch as you sit with your knees to your chest- the same position you were in back in your old cell. Trauma response? Maybe. Ghost thinks to himself as his eyes glaze over you, noticing every nick, bruise, and scar on your body that's obvious. After a few boring seconds of silence the Lieutenant finally speaks up, addressing you for the first time.
"My name's-"
"Simon."
Ghost all but flinches as the sound of your voice, the man steeling himself instantly. The hell did he jump for? You're just some mutt. Though, his eyes darken and narrow into sharp slits beneath his mask when he realizes you said his name; not his callsign or last name, his first name.
"Workers liked to chat about things on the down low away from us. Wrong thing to do around creatures with enhanced hearing."
To practically prove your point, one of your ears flick atop your head before flattening back down against your skull. Ghost honestly didn't know how to feel; he wanted to throttle the blabber mouths that even dared utter his name, while also basking in the sound of your voice. It was muffled from the muzzle around your mouth, but despite that Ghost notices the pitch is strained and scratchy as you speak in a quiet whisper that's barely audible above the whirring of the chopper's blades, while also holding some semblance of softness under all the grit and gore of your very being.
"Right. It should just be Ghost to you though, I don't really do familiarity."
Ghost hears your sigh and simply stares at you, giving you an expectant look conveyed through just his dark eyes. When you catch on to what he wants you give him your name, muttering it into the air quietly so that Ghost almost doesn't catch it. The Lieutenant registers your name, grumbling it out with his gravelly voice and accent before nodding stiffly and looking you up and down, staring at your tail wrapped around your thigh and ears atop your head.
"The hell are you anyways?"
The man before you questions. Probably not the best tone of voice in his approach, but Ghost didn't think you wanted to be babied, you don't look the type to him. Your eyes slowly trail up to Ghost's, simply keeping eye contact with the man before you murmur your species, German Shepard.
Ghost hums, breaking eye contact with you and looking down at his boots for a fleeting second before looking out one of the small circular windows in the chopper. Guess that was typical, it's the average breed of hybrid that enlisted into the forces.
Simon always did like German Shepards...

heres part 2!!
‧˚₊•┈┈୨୧┈┈•‧₊˚⊹
It isn't like Ghost hates hybrids; he's worked with them on missions before and dismissed them as any other soldier, everyone was just doing their job after all. As long as the objective was complete, that's what mattered. Though when Price told him he was being sent to a location to 'pick out" a hybrid from a facility (Laswell thought it'd be good for their team, a new set of hands and efficiency to the group and all that), he couldn't help the disagreeing grumbles that escaped past his mouth as he begrudgingly went on his way to the helipad, cursing to himself the whole way and glaring at his boots.
After the nearly agonizing chopper ride, the wheels touch down on the tarmac of the facility, a worker immediately stumbling towards Ghost as he steps out of the chopper. He didn't catch the guy's name, didn't care either. He was here for some furball soldier that could help his team, that's all that matters. The worker guides the Lieutenant through the stone walls of the facility, the smell of mold and mildew making him wrinkle his nose beneath his mask.
In the distance of the long hallways, he can hear the yells and barks of hybrids, cringing internally as the worker turns a corner and leads him to a large room of kennels and cells. Each step Ghost takes causes a hybrid to look up, many starting to growl or hide within their cells while others lay against the cold cell floor, bodies barely moving with the only sign of life being a rising and falling chest.
He's seen a lot over his years as a soldier, and he's not so easily rattled, but this was a whole new experience of discomfort and pity for him. The conditions were bad, worse than any kind of kennel he remembers when he was young, and that was for full bred animals. Ghost eyes each hybrid slowly, taking in the diverse appearances of breeds and species of hybrid. Though each is a pathetic sort, the one true hybrid that caught Ghosts eye was one that was in the corner, the cell seemingly reinforced with different metal. In the middle of the cage there you sit, back facing the door and simply staring at the wall as multiple chains hand from your ankles and wrists, a prong collar tightly pressing against your throat. Ghost wonders why you were needed to be so heavily contained, your crooked tail wrapped around your leg as your torn and notched ears that press flat against your head making you seem like a harmless broken ittle thing.
"I wouldn't recommend that one, Lieutenant."
The worker speakers quickly, warily eyeing you behind the bars of your cell. Ghost's eyes stay on you, catching onto the small twitch of your ear. You know they're talking about you.
"Why, she broken?"
Ghost says roughly, keeping his dark unblinking stare on your battered form noticing the small twitch of your tail, probably annoyance, he clues, due to his words.
"Not exactly but.."
The worker pauses, causing Ghost to maneuver his unblinking gaze to him, making the worker freeze and fumble over his words.
"But-But she has a history of recklessness, a lack of respect for authority and horrible at responding to orders. Not something you need on a team like yours."
At the workers words you slowly turn your head to look over your shoulder, revealing the dullness in your eyes and prominent scars across your face. Scratches, bites, lacerations; Ghost can identify easily each one. The worker grimaces beneath your steely gaze and takes a step back from the cell, practically shaking in his boots. To say that Ghost was intrigued would be an understatement. He knows that look in your eyes; the coldness of someone who's killed and has started to become numb, with emotions raging within just waiting to be unleashed and ruin your very being. He's seen it before, he's seen it in him.
Goddamnit, he want to know more about you.
"How long's she been here?"
The lieutenant questions, maintaining eye contact with you and frowning beneath his mask when you look away, the tiny spark in your eye at his question not being lost to him before you turn your head away.
"Couple of months maybe? She was handed over to us after being used for cage fighting and served for a couple of PMC's- so I suppose she does have some experience in the field if you were really inclined.."
The Lieutenant couldn't help the small frown that is invisible beneath his mask, the words 'handed over' causing a foul taste to coat his tongue. He knew many hybrids were considered lesser than humans, and it never bothered him before, but when in relation to you it ground his gears just that little bit. Ghost clicks his tongue and sends the worker a small glare before returning his flat gaze back to you, narrowing his eyes and watching as you scratch at the stone floor, the movement revealing the numerous scars and burns along your arms. Sure, Ghost had known you (not even really known yet) for a couple of minutes, but he was sold. And when he speaks, he stares straight into the workers eyes and speaks in the flattest most straight forward tone possible, there was no mistaking it-
"I'll take her."

"Is-is he going to be okay" Dark asked he had a worried look on his face. "Vell Wilford left in zhe snow after injuring him real bad. But he vell live." Henrik said. Dark let out a sigh of relief knowing that Anti was alive. " I'm so so sorry that this happened. I didn't think he would be so protective" " Vell dragons hybrids can be really protective with there lovers. Zo it makes sense if you want you can go see him" " I think I'll go have a talk with Wilford about this" "Alvight"
Dark vanished back to his lover while Henrik went into his clinic where the naga layed on the table with bandages on his tail, right arm, stomach, and neck. All the injures were caused by getting Wilford mad at him. Henrik lifted Anti up it was easy to pick him up with him being light but that just worried the bird doctor.

Los Angeles wore its hot and dry summers with pride. You were sweating the moment you stepped out of the private jet, your shirt sticking to your back and your jeans stifling your legs. Above, there was no cloud in sight but an endless expanse of blue and the white-yellow of the sun. An orange hue tinted everything around you, strange and dizzying.
Inside the airport, the AC froze the sweat on your back bringing sweet relief to your burnt skin. The midday sun needed only a couple of minutes. Picking up your suitcases, you headed to the parking lot and got into the SUV. John got into the driver’s seat because when it came to John, he was always the one driving. He only allowed someone else to do the job when it was for official events like red carpets. Overseas, he would turn on the GPS and navigate the streets with ease.
You climbed into the backseat with Taehyung, reluctant to leave him alone. He had barely spoken a word to you the whole trip. He would answer every question with a nod and you were starting to doubt he could understand anything you were saying.
Half an hour into the flight, your eyes were drooping and John’s head was dropping back on his chair. You had been tired from promotions to begin with when you had first arrived in Seoul. The late hour of the auction, the anxiety, and the early visit to the police department had only made it worse. You woke up to the captain announcing you would be landing in ten minutes and to kindly put on your seatbelts.
You were finally back in Los Angeles, its beaches and palm trees. There had been a few dark moments in the blood-red ballroom that you had doubted you would see Los Angeles again. Maybe that’s why it looked more beautiful than ever because you had nearly lost it. One slip and your last memory of it would be watching it grow smaller through a jet’s window.

He was faraway from the building, he still could hear the noise in his ears. The first thing he had done was to remove the tracker off his ankles, which have left a reddish mark on it. He had never run as fast as he did now and even though it wasn’t the same on tread mild than in the snow, that didn’t stop him. He had set only one goal in his mind an that was: escape to be free.
He tried not to be distracted by anything that seemed attractive to his eyes, but in reality everything was. Everything was new to him, he did not even remember how he and his family had arrived at the laboratory where they were experimenting with hybrids. He had seen many die from dangerous experimentation with drugs and radiation they did to them. Among those hybrids were his parents; The last thing that had led him to escape from that place was to see one of his childhood friends die: Choi Beomgyu, he had seen him suffer so much that YeonJun had resolved to flee from there.
He was running through the snow-filled forest at last losing the sound of the laboratory alarms, but still he should not be trusted, he knew they would look for him and return him to the laboratory. His breathing was agitated but it was not because of fatigue, it was rather because of the adrenaline he felt rushing through his body and the adrenaline was so great that he felt that not even the large pine trunk that was lying in the middle of the road was a hindrance for him. Two meters high did not make him stop, he continued on his way meeting the end of the forest that made him stop suddenly.
An asphalt road divided half the forest now the question was:
Where should I go? West or east? He didn’t care but he still took the west…
He didn’t know where that direction would lead him, but the further away he was from the lab, it didn’t matter; It was the first time that he felt happy so he stretched his arms that hung from them the chains from which he was tied, generating noise in that silent night. He could feel and breathe the cold air of that place contrasting with how hot his body felt.
He was surprised to see the lights of some small houses apparently there was no one on the street and that only made him say thank you, he was just stepping on the floor of the sidewalks when he could hear the wheels of trucks approaching and they were not just any truck so no. He thought twice about running again looking for a place to hide. In the middle of two somewhat large constructions and the best thing was that it was dark so it was the perfect place to hide, I didn’t think about it for a second more and he moved his body in the direction of that place. Even so, he knew that they would search those particular places, in the dark he perceived an old metal staircase, he did not think twice to start climbing it.
He groaned when he discovered large buildings firmly established not far from him, that reminded him of the old photo that his father had given him to his ten years promising that one day he would take him to know the city. He didn’t even know when his eyes were tearing up at the shocking sight, his excitement was interrupted by the screeching of wheels stopping, causing him to crouch as he approached the edge of the building, but he knew it was them by their scent and it’s that he knew too much that smell of salty with mixed metal … an aroma that he never liked, he hated it more
“There’s no one around here” said one of the men who was lighting up the place where he had been.
“He must not be very far, he will be disoriented and I do not think he will reach the city so it will be easy to catch him” His eyes widened when he saw Dr. Chwe she was the only person he liked inside that laboratory because she was always very kind to him, he observed the woman moving among the men who accompanied her “ Remember not to draw attention and if necessary shoot “ he could see that he gave them a small blue liquid, then he knew that he should not trust Nobody, when they all got into the vans disappeared from his sight, he knew he had to go where the illuminated buildings were.
If he had thought that his life in the laboratory was difficult to live and that his freedom would be simple, he was very wrong because he had not tasted a bite of food for three days, at that moment he was under a frame of a place where they sold meat, he knew that what he would do was not quite right yet he tried to enter, he moved his nose as he got closer to the exquisite aroma and then he saw the large piece of meat that hung from an iron, he was about to take it when he felt that someone was still behind him thus he could not evade the blow that that fat man gave him.
He had not sent him to the ground, but if he had managed to destabilize him, he was barely going to recover when another blow made him fall down the small stairs of the place he let out a groan when he felt the ground wet from the torrential rain that fell that night. When he saw the voluminous male figure approaching him even on the ground, he began to move away from the opposite, emitting grunts:
“I’m tired of you filthy animals that assault my store, but this time I am going to teach you a lesson” his heart cut in his thorax, he didn’t like to be approached too much because he was not used to it, in the laboratory only the doctors approached very close but it was only to hurt him; he kept growling as the man began to approach him with a metal stick.
The only thing that occurred to him at that moment was to push him with his legs and by force he made him fall to the floor while he took the opportunity to stand up making noise due to the chains that he still could not remove; He tried to run but he tripped over something he didn’t know how to describe it and made him fall back to the ground, taking a good blow to the head.
There he was lying on the pavement with the rain soaking his body as he stared at nothing. Soon a light made him growl weakly, he did not know how to describe the aroma he perceived as he heard footsteps approaching him.
By that time his gaze was blurry and unstable, although he could only see red shoes and a high-pitched voice: “ You’re good? Oh Jesus! You’re bleeding …” if he was bleeding and it was the first time he looked at his own blood, it was: thick and dark red but when mixed with the water it turned a bright red
“I’ll take you home and take care of you”. ..
No, he had not fled the laboratory for freedom and now he would end up in prison again …

“A hybrid?” You barely hold back a cough, the sandwich you were eating getting caught in your throat at your friend’s surprising words.
“Don’t sound so surprised Y/N, this isn’t the first time we’ve talked about this,” Jihyo rolls her eyes, pushing her water bottle closer to you as she notices you struggling. You quickly take a sip, the cool water soothing your irritated throat.
“No, but it’s the first time we’ve ever talked about me and hybrids in the same sentence,” You shake your head as you lean back in your chair, Jihyo’s eyes narrowing as she looks at you. You advert your eyes to pick at your shirt. Somehow, Jihyo always knows how to make you do something you’re unsure of, and this is too serious to be one of those situations.
“But wouldn’t it be nice? You always complain about being lonely,” Jihyo says, a knowing smile on her face as she takes another bite of her own food.
“Yeah, but I meant a boyfriend, not a hybrid!” You sigh. You had been complaining a lot recently how sad it was to come home to a big empty apartment, and how nice it would be if the space were filled with someone else beside yourself. But a hybrid? You hardly know anything about them. And considering they’re part human and animal, you’re sure they will need a lot of attention, maybe even more than what you can give.
“Besides, I wouldn’t even know where to start. I don’t know anything about them,” You add, a frown on your face as you pick at the escaped fillings of your food. “That’s what the centers are for! You pick out a hybrid and get a manual to go along with it, it’s not that hard,” Jihyo huffs, a small pout on her lips as she finishes her food. You know she only has your best intentions in mind, but this is a big step. One you’re not sure you’re ready for.

— pairing: wolf hybrid namjoon x human f!reader — genre: fluff, angst, slight smut — word count: 10.2K — warnings: light injury, nothing too bad! — summary: Promising Jihyo that you were going to stay away from your writing for one weekend had been easy in theory, but much harder to actually do once you reached the little cabin the woods. To make matters worse, the only thing that rivals your inability to keep promises is your terrible luck – and after a particularly bad choice leads you to get lost in the mountains, you suppose that it’s only karma that you end up face to face with a wolf that looks ready to rip your throat out.
Part I / II / III
“Why are we here again?” You huff, waving your hands uselessly in the air to fend off the insistent mosquitos that seem to have chosen you as their next meal. “And don’t say it’s because I need–”
“It’s because you need some sunlight! Fresh air! You haven’t been out outside of your apartment in months,” Jihyo shoots you a look over her shoulder, one that’s equally as much worried, as it is exasperated. You bite down on your tongue to fend off any building remarks. Because well .. she’s right. The only time you’ve stepped outside your apartment recently was to either get groceries, or to run to the convenience store nearby when the craving for a late night snack became too much.
“It’s because I’m busy–”
“Busy my ass!” Jihyo interrupts with a humorless snort, “You finished writing your first draft weeks ago, Y/n. I understand that you get in one of your ‘moods’ when you write, but you can’t shut yourself away from the rest of the world whenever that happens. You’ll let your own life pass you by.”
You narrow your eyes at Jihyo’s use of air quotes, because frankly, it’s not just a mood, it’s inspiration. You know you have to take full advantage of it when you have it – that you have to devote your sole focus to the words spilling from your fingertips unless you want to lose them. You did that once. You had just finished writing a chapter when some old friends from university had called you out for some drinks. You easily accepted, happy to celebrate your progress and unwind a little bit. The problem however, reared its ugly head the day after. Because when you sat down in front of your computer, the empty document stared back at you like a stranger.
You couldn’t write. No sentences seemed to flow the way you wanted them too, and everything was just so dull. It took weeks – a whole month in fact – before it reappeared, and by that time you were left scrambling to complete the last half of your book in just one week. You felt like you aged ten years during those seven days, and you wowed to never let it happen again. So, your solution had been to eliminate any distractions. You stopped meeting up with friends, ignoring any calls or texts that weren’t from your publisher. You didn’t set foot outside your apartment unless your fridge was empty or a craving became too big, and even then, you barely acknowledged the outside world, too scared that even a friendly hello would somehow yank you out of your mindset.
So you hold you tongue, biting down at the soft flesh of your lower lip as Jihyo trudges ahead in front of you. No matter how much you want to retort back that she’s wrong – you can’t.
