Favourite loser? 🤨 Like actual losers, not just "well, they're weird". You seem like a Peter person
Okay, starting off by saying I love this ask!!
When I think of losers in the marauders era I wouldn't immediately think of Peter, or at least not the way I hc him. But I do love him in his own special way, but not a loser way. I think there are more losery losers out there.
Like Xenophilius. Man is a humanoid string of cooked spaghetti who loves conspiracies and everything thinks he's a freak. He doesn't have many friends beyond Pandora and Barty (who is also perpetually perceived as being a loser), so he spends a lot of time on his own muttering to himself.
He goes on to be the editor of a magazine that 99% of the wizarding community thinks is nonsense and is mostly ignored. Pandora and Luna regularly have to try and convince him that he's not a loser, not fully believing their own words. He tried to start a Hogwarts student magazine but it was just him, nobody else signed up, or at least not using real names.
He sits in corners of Hogwarts writing things down in his little notebook with his long limp hair that he has to be persuaded to cut and wash, and when he's not in uniform he dresses in clothes that nobody else wears from odd muggle stores in the depths of London.
Some people say he's wacky and zany but I think my boy Phil is a certified loser. He sits down at the Ravenclaw table and people get up and move away from him. He's vibing in his own world doing his little dance like at Bill and Fleur's wedding with his yellow clothes and odd throat singing and pisses the common room off because he refuses to keep it to the confines of his dorm.
In the wise words of Alex, "Phil is the real odd fuck".
my problem with james potter have nothing in common that he's just boring "golden boy".
no, my problem with james potter is the way he treated severus snape (i don't like him too but this isn't the point) and how everyone treated him like a king because of that.
james potter was an abuser and no one whose abused someone would never call themselves a good person.
a lot of people don't get it. they say that james had his reasons (what, a his stupid jealousy? his contempt? his prejudice?) but he didn't have right to treat snape like that.
they say it was just jokes! but the jokes could hurt him.
i know about i'm talking, i was abused too. and i'm free from my abusers after eight years of facing up to them.
i have nightmares, i struggle with depression and anxiety disorder. i tried kill myself. i have eating disorder bc my abusers made me belive that i don't deserve to eat and to be alive. it was just jokes for them... but those jokes are killing me.
and they probably nearly killed severus snape.

IMPORTANT HARRY POTTER QUESTION!!!
For all of us that have read HP fics of whatever era we have inevitably come across a common room party.
My question is how do the older kids keep the younger ones out of the parties??? Like what if one comes in late from the library? Ok sure you send that kiddo up to bed but what about the others up in their rooms? How do you keep them from coming down and partaking in something beyond their age range????
If anyone has any thoughts or ideas please let me know I can’t think of anything logical …
I was re-reading Prisoner of Azkaban when that question popped into my mind. Like, in the next books we learn that Voldemort knew Peter could turn into a rat and Remus was a werewolf, but what about the rest of the Marauders? Did he knew about James and Sirius being illegal animagi?
We also know Pettigrew was telling Voldemort all he knew about Lily and James a year before he killed them, but did Pettigrew mention that James was an animagus and could turn into a stag, or did he considered it an irrelevant fact for his Lord plans? Or even worse, what if he knew it might be important for Potter's destiny and didn't told him because he wanted to repay and excuse with James? I would like to go with the third option, remembering he spared Harry's life in Malfoy's manor, betraying Voldemort and getting killed for it.
All I can imagine now is an AU in which You-Know-Who arrives to Godric's Hollow, but in the front yard of Potter's house he founds face to face with a giant stag in front of the door, and James charges after him with his antlers and Voldemort runs/fly away because he's scared as shit of this misterious deer who came out off nowhere and kicked his ass. Meanwhile Lily and Harry had already fled far away to safety with Uncle Padfoot on his motorbike.
Back with Voldy's Death Eaters Wormtail smiles sadly, knowing his friends are safe and he thinks this has to be the best prank Prongs has ever done. So do think Padfoot and Moony.
