Where Every Scroll is a New Adventure
if the sun refused to shine Because in the end we all grow up and sometimes the ones we love leave us.
“And then they lived happily ever after, opening their agency together.”
“And they stayed best friends forever and ever.”
Katsuki shoots you an offended look when he hears your teasing words, sitting in front of the bright pink dollhouse that was supposed to be the supposed agency. “That wasn’t in the script.”
His words sounded a lot more serious than they should be, especially with how he was choosing to deal with things. As silly as it was, you weren’t judging his decision to play make believe instead of getting angry, knowing how different he’s become with time. The slight flush to his cheeks as he tries to keep up a firm expression tells you everything, because he really did think things would be the same as when they were younger forever after things had developed for the better between them back in highschool.
And they were.
But they were adults and being adults meant a lot more on their plates and a lot less playtime. “Sweety, it’s one in the morning, can we stop playing with the dolls and go to bed? Things will be fine, you’re seeing him tomorrow.” You say, settling your daughter’s plushie down with a sigh as you slump in your spot where you sit on the ground beside him.
Katsuki just looks at you for a second, cheeks flushing a bit in humiliation as he tries to think about what to say in response to that, knowing he might’ve been a little dramatic over the day's events.
“...Fine. Let’s go.”
A little laugh leaves your lips as you hold your hands out for him to help you up, grinning at him with a loving look in your eyes.
“Everything’s okay, you’re gonna wake up in the morning, drive our little peanut to school-” “What the hell? Why am I driving her all of a sudden?” “Because I’m lazy and have swollen ankles.” A sigh leaves his lips as he gives in and nods, already knowing he’s lost the minute you bring up the pregnancy card. “Yeah, yeah, I’ll make sure to do that before work, you sleep tight. I owe you for staying up with me.”
A smile was present on his lips as he looked down at you, hand resting at the back of your head as he brought you closer into a hug, resting your forehead to his chest before pressing a kiss to the top of your head.
“Thank you.”
That's how you knew Katsuki would be alright, the both of you going to bed with the soft hum of the AC lulling you to sleep, holding each other close with your hearts beating peacefully against each other.
a little note: hi, this is my first fic post i've done in years lol i just wanted to do something sweet because right now i rlly love Katsuki's character. if this didn't make sense it's supposed to be what happens after he comes home in the epilogue.
