"they’re trying to make it more “real” because people have been calling bullshit all along and im not sure they expected that." - 100% this! It feels like Elounor in that way where everyone went 'this is obviously fake and Louis is obviously gay' and their response was just 'well what if we keep her around for a decade?' The longevity of a lot of these stunts is honestly all they have going for them in terms of authenticity
they're super lazy and ham handed with stunts these days.
with holivia, the irony is that DWD would have had SO MUCH support if they had just left it alone and let him do his acting without all this circus. I think they shot themselves in the foot on that one.
don't get me wrong, i'm sure tons of people will see it and it will be fine. but i know how hard stans go and i just think a lot of people are very meh about it these days (compared to when it first started filming pre-holivia)
