Phew, finally done with the dod headshots! I definitely had a lot of fun and I loved experimenting with a more cartoony style and brush textures!

I tried to keep their designs based closely to their names and personalities! I did make tsunami a little bigger size wise than clay but she’s definitely shorter and more muscled than him.

I tried to make glory and clay almost iridescent like clays underbelly is described in the books as copper like and I wanted to bring parallels between clay and glory bc I like the idea that they are kinda alike if u know what I mean? And I wanted to give Tsunami fins like a wave of water like what surfers surf on! Like those water tunnel pictures! And I loved giving sunny features like starflight bc she’s a hybrid. I feel like if she wasn’t so unassuming you’d immediately be able to tell she’s a hybrid heheh. And I like to think Tsunami hated when her siblings got hurt enough to take all their “training sessions” with kestrel nearly every time, and continuously challenged the guardian enough that when she did take them kestrel didn’t hold back whatsoever and was constantly nearly permanently injuring her and she required many, many scars over the years.

The Dragonets of Destiny! I recently have started reading WoF and I love it. I’ve found out that dragons are MUCH easier to draw than cats (in my opinion) their talons r hard tho. Just like paws lol. I hope you like them. This is how I interpreted them. I think all except Sunny are normal designs. I didn’t see any of sunny being like bright yellow Ig. Idk.

Tsunami! Had some trouble getting her "canon" colors right because all of her refs on the WoF wiki are slightly different shades of blue.

A drawing of Clay! He's such a great character. Might even be my favorite DoD. I also really like his canon designs colors, they're very nice and warm.

DRAGONETS OF DESTIINYYYYY

This this this! The pattern of her scales is absolutely stunning! I wonder if she’s constantly making her appearance as intricate as possible where the other Rainwings just let their colours flow. It would help her stand out as more refined and queenly in a crowd, though I do imagine she could stop if she wanted to blend in.

This makes me think that in making her patterning so intricate, she unintentionally takes references from the other DoD and the things that remind her of them. We all know she’s a big softy for them under that harsh exterior.

Love this design and the thought that went into it. The art is so gorgeous as well. <3

two people ( @emeralddragonparagon and indigo) requested Glory this week, so here she is! thank you guys so much for the overwhelming support for these designs :3 they really took off!

Glory's design was a little difficult but very rewarding! I wanted to design her to fit with the present day in wof, where she's been queen for a little while and had time to settle in + grow into her role. She has a green/brown crown that fits under her ears, as well as some layered beaded jewelry which are inspired by the Uth Duna outfit from Monster Hunter Wilds. I wanted to make her look more regal/royal than she currently does, so I used a lot of patterns on top of the accessories.

For her scales, I liked the idea of Glory's pattern alluding to her somewhat prickly personality from the first arc, as well as leaving traces of her friends in her design - a sun on her shoulder, water-like patterns on part of her wing, amber/brown talons etc... it would be nice if Glory presented her scales with them in mind, considering she doesn't get to see the other DoD often.
