Sometimes I wish that the Duffers hadn’t managed to cast an amazing group of actors for ST so that it would be easier to see how abysmal at worst and mediocre at best the show really is.
Literally all of the most beloved moments, lines, and changes to characters/storylines are due to the actors’ improvisations and suggestions.
Hey duffle bags, way to shat all over Dacre’s hard work on trying to humanize Billy whilst he couldn’t be on set to defend him.
Poor joseph quinn thirsting over joe keery the same way joe is/was thirsting over dacre montgomery.
Nothing makes me cackle more than Dacre Montgomery posting bts pics, not of ST, but the Elvis movie on the premiere of Vol 2 🤣

also the amount of Billy hate I’ve seen the past few weeks is insane. It looks like we are back at S2. And this makes me very afraid of how people will treat Dacre at the con. Because some people just forget that Billy is a fictional character and Dacre is a real human being. If I hear about someone being an ass to him there I’m gonna punch someone.
Why have Billy look alive when he's dead when the others looked dead but are alive? Why would Vecna do that? Wouldn't it be more affective to have Max see the corpse of her dead brother? And the tear???? Why would Vecna bother putting that little detail in???
The Duffers, projecting: Billy role is to be the big bad bully to us our heroes and he’s gonna be mean and loud and an overall maniac because he is the reincarnation of all things EVIILL.

With all the revived hype surrounding Billy from the latest S4 trailer, I’m reminded why I will forever be grateful that the role was given to someone like Dacre Montgomery. With all the speculation of Billy not only returning, but possibly returning as ANOTHER corrupted version of himself, Dacre is the only reason why I still have hope for Billy’s arc.
He is the reason why Billy is as complex and nuanced as he is in canon. Judging from past interviews, it seems like the Duffers were content to just let Billy be this two dimensional bully who’s an irredeemable maniac (and possibly still believe he is to some extent). But it was Dacre who humanized him. He understood that no one is simply born evil, that people like Billy have deeper issues going on in their lives. He suggested to add the scene with his dad abusing him and to give him a backstory of how he was abandoned by the only person who loved him. He demonstrated how all that shit twisted a sweet little boy into an angry, aggressive teenager. It would be enough to turn anybody into a Billy Hargrove.
Dacre gave the audience a reason to sympathize with Billy and demonstrated how he still has the potential to become a better person and overcome his toxic ways.
So, no matter what role Billy plays this season (whether it be alive, in flashbacks, or in some monster form), I trust that Dacre will put all his effort to maintain and continue Billy’s character development.

so since i obvs 'like' billy i have the strongest urge to rant ab his character and the way the fandom treats him and people who think hes attractive bc.
ofc billy in the show is an awful person. hes a racist and a bully and just not a nice guy at all and i will never try to excuse that. however what people dont understand is in season 2 he was 17 years old. and not only that he was a 17 year old that has been abused almost all his life. your views and the way you act are hugely affected by your surroundings and so yeah growing up with an abusive and canonically homophobic and misognistic father will not be good for your own views on life. while this does not excuse his behaviour its an explanation, and it also means he COULD have been redeemed. he was a kid and all he needed was a good influence that stuck around and cared for him.
as for the way people treat his character its understandable to dislike him bc he is a pos however to go and call ppl who find billy attractive 'racists' is insane. hes not real for one and for another simply finding someone attractive does not mean you agree with their actions?? the amount of people who say he deserved to die is scary because he was barely an adult when he died and he sacrificed himself to save everyone like as much as that didnt make up for what hes done it proves he couldve become better.
another thing i really hate is whenever someone writes a fic or makes an edit theres always that one 'ew hes racist' comment. how about we not make people feel bad for fancying a fictional character !! its especially bad when someone points out his abuse and i see people saying he deserved it. yall are disgusting.
i find it insane that people have way more sympathy for karen, a married woman who almost left her family for a barely 18 year old kid, than billy who was an abused child. like genuinely the idea of that is so weird.
and also my biggest issue with this is nobody has a problem with 001 whos a child murderer and a man who wants to take over the world. or to go outside of ST, draco malfoy who got a whole side of tiktok yet is a racist, classist nazi who says slurs, and yet is one of the most crushed on fictional characters?? so its fine to like him or dabi from mha, or even bakugou from mha but not billy hargrove. thats crazy to me because how can you seperate fiction from reality for everyone but this one character.

I’ve been rolling this thought around in my head for a while since last time I said something akin to this I almost got forced to out the trauma that would have fucking doxxed me but it’s something I feel real needs to be said.
So to the Stranger Things fandom (and you fucking know who you are) objectification does not suddenly become permissible because they’re male.
Dacre, Joseph, Charlie, Joe- they’re real people and some of the shit you’re saying about them isn’t fucking ok. You know how some of the shit folks were saying about Pedro stopped being ok
Saying a real person has a “naturally submissive” body or pulling up photos from when someone was being abused saying you wish they still looked like that wouldn’t be ok with random people you know so why would it be ok saying that about a celebrity.
Dacre and Charlie are literally victims as well- objectifying their bodies to this ridiculous degree where you’re literally mirroring the kind of shit that the Duffers made them do is not ok and is really upsetting and triggering to see as a victim myself.
We all agree it would be gross and creepy if someone was saying this about Grace or Natalia- why the fuck is it permissible when the genders are flipped.
These are not fictional characters. They are real people. And with Dacre and Charlie, their experience with abuse and objectification are very very real. I genuinely don’t know what to say at this point. Apart from it’s immensely cringe behaviour and even if the actor you’re talking about don’t see it, people who’ve had to deal with objectification and abuse on tumblr will.
