So, you are right with the elemtal thing, except its more you control very small amounts. Like with water, you gather the condensation in the air and you use that. Air you can use to cushion a fall or knock someone back, but only very few skilled people have mastered flying.
There are Adepts, who then branch into subclasses. There is one woman I know of who can shift her centre of gravity to walk on walls, it's a sight to behold.
And then there are the necromancers, who are shunned because of their ideologies. But I can't go too deep, I am only close to one necromancer and she shunned her beliefs.
