I said I’d do more Pokemon/Hollow Knight stuff and since I’m in a Hollow Knight mood here’s more buggies! Some rough new ones and of course my moths!

Moth lore under cut if anyone cares to read my ramblings about them~

Volcarona is old, predating the split in dreams and is perhaps one of the first moths ever made by the Radiance. She is the leader of their little ragtag groups of moths and is highly proficient in dream magics including that of nightmares, whose flames she favors. It is these flames and the extensive knowledge her age has allowed her which she carries with the greatest pride and which she so readily shares with others she comes across in her travels.

Mothim acts as the group’s scout as well as a jack of all trades who helps with random little things whenever needed. Generally, he’s quite confident and alert, but you’d be an anxious mess too if you were separated from your group and it felt like everyone you came across tried to stab you at least once. He doesn’t even know what they meant by infection????

Dustox hauls around and keeps track of much of the group’s basic supplies. They’re the quietest of the group, loosing themselves to their thoughts quite often but they don’t let that effect how meticulous they are with their tasks, which provides them a level of unmatched resourcefulness and ingenuity. They’re still mourning the loss of their child.

Venomoth is the group’s lively healer and storyteller. The energy of the group lies with him as he continues to keep everyone’s spirits up, not allowing the silence of the vast expanses they travel to get to them by instead filling it with his endless thoughts and ideas. He possesses basic skill in soul magic, which allows him focus and heal both himself and others.

Frosmoth is the youngest and the primary defender of the group due to her being the only one to utilize a physical weapon of any kind--a makeshift blade of ice. Despite this, she is still quite inexperienced in fighting with a weapon and still primarily relies on the shear cold of her icy magic to bring her opponents to submission. She often gets into friendly competitions with Mothim.

The groups origins are found before the creation of Hallownest with the Pale King’s initial arrival. Volcarona, having already once been caught in the middle of two warring higher beings and sensing Radiance’s distaste of the new light, did not wish to find herself caught once more. So, she, alongside a handful of other, like-minded moths, departed the caverns and made their way out into the surround vast wastes. Ages later, Volcarona is drawn back to the old place of her birth, bringing with her the remaining descendants of those moths that had initially left with her those ages ago.

Seeing others have some fun throwing Pokemon characters they love/that deserve more love into Hisui is fun, so now Wes from Pokemon Colosseum gets his go in the past Some notes below!

This would be a few years after Colosseum but a little bit before Gale of Darkness for Wes, so he is like 21-22.

Absent in Gale of Darkness cause he's now been eebie deebied to Hisui by Celebi. Cause he just kinda popped there without much of any dramatics, he still has his memories. Dunno about his Pokemon though.

Yes, he's still wearing his platform boots.

Gets to be an older brother figure for Rei/Akari.

Wes speaks Galarian/Paldean (English/Spanish), so gets the joy of having to learn Hisuian. But he also has the joy of being the only fluent Paldean speaker in the entire region and makes it everyone else's problem. Poor Professor Laventon knows enough Paldean to catch things sometimes.

He has zero fear of wild pokemon and would be willing to fist fight any if the need were to ever arise. In fact, the sheer amount and variety of pokemon around Hisuian is extremely fascinating and a bit overwhelming to him coming from Orre's wastes and the only handful of pokemon species known to live in the wild there. His excitement eventually leads the Eevee cuddle pile.

Wes wears long sleeves, long pants, and a cloak--all darkly colored--in the intense Pokemon Arizona heat, so he's absolutely not gonna be fond of the cooler Hisuian climate.

[Sapporo's (Jubilife equivalent) highest average temperature throughout the year is 80 F in August. Phoenix, Arizona (Phenac City equivalent) throughout the summer months has average lows that just barely or don't even get below 80 F and average highs well above 100 F.]

I made an OC recently and it’s just kind of devolved into chaos so I did this dumb thing for a warmup this morning; featuring @starrysorry’s beautiful handsome boy Arthur! 

Okay, here are a few random ideas I thought of:

The village coming back to life as people find it again, and Elderbug watching happily

Young Hornet, possibly with her mom or with her nail when it was too big for her.

Sly before he becomes a merchant, when he was the Great Nailsage. Possibly while he was teaching young Oro, Mato, and Sheo.

Cloth reuniting with Nola. (Nola us mentioned a lot by cloth, but Nola is never actually seen in the game.)

Decided Sly gets to have had a fluffy collared cloak in the past that the Nailmaster Brothers decided to copy for their own signature cloaks. Honestly, everyone deserves a fluffy collared cloak.

Then of course tiny baby Hornet is always fun to draw.

 Judge: Court is now in session for the trial…the—the trial…What the hell are you holding?

Prince: Oh! This is my client’s emotional support muppet. I sent a note informing you of this beforehand.

Judge: Ugh, okay.

Prince: Alright then

(Prince voice switches into Snatcher’s)

Snatcher: Let’s get this shown on the road.

 Snatcher: Objection! You say you have no clue why your daughter couldn’t be hired by anyone, but I requested the call logs of every director that my client’s been denied by. And guess whose number I found in everyone of them? That’s right, yours. How did I legally those call logs? Ehehe, it’s simple: I’m an actor myself you know. Quite a few directors were happy to share their information with me seeing how they want to hire me for their movies. Of course, not hiring my client based solely on what you said, hehe, well, she and I can talk about what to do with them at a later date.

Snatcher: There isn’t a single rule in this courtroom that says I can’t make my case through a giant muppet. So long as I’m pleading it properly it’s perfectly legal. Which is a word that would describe the complete opposite of you.

 Snatcher: I know exactly what you tried to do. It was a mixture of jealousy over your daughters successful acting career and fear that you would lose the control you had over her life. Killing two birds with one stone, you prevented my client from getting a job, forcing her to live with you again where you could then emotionally manipulate her as much as you pleased. Unfortunately for you, Vanessa’s far stronger than you think she is and she knew to sue you for everything. All the evidence points to you being guilty. Your honor, I rest my case.

Judge: Yes, I see no reason to prolong this trial any further. Mr. Lu- (interrupted by coughing) Ugh, Mr. Snatcher has proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that you have emotionally manipulated your daughter. The courts finds you guilty.
