Does Batman have special training to knock out that urge to correct someone when they say incorrect stuff?
The Bats are paranoid and keep secrets. They can keep a secret identity and avoid people's questions. When the person outright believes something wrong, though? That's when it gets tricky. Is there just a few months of training where Bruce claims incorrect things about the Robin and they have to not correct him? He'll just randomly state it midpatrol to try to catch them off guard while they struggle.
Possible phrases Bruce has used.
Dick- "You're an excellent acrobat, but you couldn't land a quadruple backflip on the first try."
Jason - "Jane Austen isn't your favorite writer, right?"
Tim - "Zesti sucks."
Steph - "You don't know how to play piano."
Damian - "Animals suck."
Duke - "You tend to follow the law."
The main Saiki friendgroup and pk psychics are mostly seperate group right? And Saiki acts deferently with both of them so what happened is someone from the main friendgroup (like Kaidou or sth) witnesses some "weird" Saiki behavior? Like Saiki being more sarcastic and mean or even violent thowards Toritsuka, while hanging out with him. Or he hears Saiki calmly saying "kill yourself" and he's shocked that Saiki, who is so nice and calm could say something like that, even to the germ. Or Teruhashi overhears a conversation between Aiura and Toritsuka that goes like: "Yo wheres Saiki" "oh he's stalking that guy again" "again? Damn he needs to leave that poor guy alone" and she's like "what? Stalking? I never thought Saiki was like that". Or the groups combine and they’re playing "who is the most likely to..." and there’s a question like "whos most likely to tell you to kill yourself/beat someone up" and the psychickers are automaticaly like "Saiki" "Saiki-san" "Kusuo" and everyone else questions if they even know him.
the batfamily to me is just a horror anthology of like pov: you are slowly turning into your father. we don't talk about this enough. everyone's worst fear is becoming bruce and despite it all dick becomes him. dick dons the cowl and fires tim and screws over his friends and treats the titans like colleagues. babs fires dinah and helena and is overcontrolling and makes decisions for other people because she thinks she's allowed to make them. tim becomes hostile and isolated and secluded. I just. they are trying their best to escape him but in doing so they doom themselves
just imagine the batkids telling Bruce he’s delulu
"To hell with revenge, to hell with his schemes. If Rollins had done something to Inej, Kaz would paint East Stave with his entrails"
- Crooked Kingdom
I don't think we talk about this much, but this one line just shows how important Inej is, to Kaz.
Revenge is the foundation of Kaz's life, his sole purpose, his final destination, his motivation. The reason he lives. Revenge is why Kaz didn't give up. Revenge is everything to him.
And yet he was willing to give that up. For what?
For Inej. Inej Ghafa. His Wraith. The only person he could trust and knew won't use his secrets against him.
And I think it is very important.
So I just re blogged a post that made me think about this.
All the batboys look more like their moms than their fathers in some way.
Tim and Jason HATE IT with a burning passion. Both for different reasons of course. Tim (as the post that inspired this) is hauntingly beautiful. Just like his mother was and he is so thankful he wasn’t born a girl because he knows he would hate his looks even more than he does now.
Jason literally died because of her, she sold him off to the joker for a chance to escape. This man has MOTHER ISSUES in the biggest block letters you can imagine. Dick made the mistake of saying “she’s obviously who you get your good looks from.” And Jason refused to speak to him for weeks.
Dick will never admit it but he’s forgotten what his parents looked like before they died, he says he looks like the perfect mix of both of them when in reality he’s his mothers carbon copy and he just doesn’t remember it.
Damian is the child that actually looks like a perfect mix of his parents. He looks like a young Bruce but when standing next to Talia a lot of people would say he just looks like a masculine version of her. He takes pride in it and secretly loves it when Bruce makes a comment like “you look so much like your mom when you make that face.”
Bruce knows he looks like his mom, he just refuses to admit it. For years after she died he would see himself in the mirror and see her and it physically pained him. Now when he looks in the mirror, he sees Damian.
"Hmmmm my son just expressed displeasure at being sent away to boarding school throughout his childhood and feels like he was being pawned off so his mother and I wouldn't have to bother with him. But he keeps acting out and I don't know what to do. I know! I'll send him away to another fucking boarding school-"
I feel like during that short period when Damian had powers from his resurrection he should have constantly scared Tim with it.
When I was a child, I never felt like a child. I felt like an emperor with a city to burn.
annual reminder that the meta reason for why Percy’s birthday is August 18th is that mid-August is the height of the Perseids meteor shower every year. Named as such because the meteors appear to emanate from the constellation Perseus, of course named for the Greek mythological hero that Percy was named after.
