Shizaya Week Day 3: First Kiss

durarara WHAT WILL HE DO can you tell? izaya orihara i made a thing Here he comes! 🎵 this was originally a squid game redraw of course not there is not a game of squid to be perceived but you’re pretty cool if you can figure out where it was directly referenced from sorry if people are sick and tired of hearing about that show again but uhhh there might be more where that came from i kind of gave up on the initial idea here when i realised i wouldn’t be able to draw the shizuo so now it’s just izaya but you can assume he’s looking at shizuo that was the intention he's also walking backwards haha i’ve got mixed feelings about this one whenever i go on about izaya's coat jacket whatever in the reblog tags i really do mean it spent an unreasonable amount of time trying to get the fluff to look a way i like it then 10x multiplied trying to figure out the shading on and around the poofy sleeve and i'm still not totally satisfied with it i simply cannot compute zoom in on the face though that part is nice i really like how i drew him there this is like my third proper attempt at both shading and colours feels like there's too much going on but not enough at the same time i just kind of experimented with a ton of random colours and techniques that i thought looked neat in other people's art i couldn't really commit to anything i threw on it though but we all have to start somewhere right i've worked on it enough it's time to release him into the wild that's enough serious attempts at colours for a while i think

reblog drrr shizaya izaya orihara shizuo heiwajima potatofu catching up on reblogs at the very end of the month as i do this was a lovely christmas surprise thank you shizuo carrying izaya + in the winter is very good food i said this before but i really do love the expressions here izaya's is such bastard you capture some ratty sorta sharpness in him and i like it a lot he acts like he isn't huddled up in his fuzzy hood draped all over shizuo's body heat with his face all red a great look on him btw i really like shizuo's head tilt and the general lean in his pose mildly irritated blush we love to see it i like how the shadow falls over more of his face idk the contrast looks cool stop complimenting the way you draw their hair challenge but no i like the swoops of it and i like how you drew their noses? something about them looks particularly really nice here everything looks even better than before animation school has been doing you well also the snow effects and increased vibrancy of the colours add a lot to the vibe!! something about the warm tones and noise filter look kinda retro to me idk but i like it welcome back (for now) i'm glad you seem to be well!!

reblog drrr shizaya izaya orihara shizuo heiwajima soultiio shizayaweek2023 woww i really do like your art in pencil it works especially well for these guys too ooh this is a fun composition i like how all the elements are laid out a bit scrapbook-like creates a nice vibe the eyes are prettyy i love the way you did them staring into each other with such deep opposing convictions the first frame has the most tender shizuo <3 he looks so tired all bloodied up i love the close-up frame it's very pretty with shizuo's lips parted over the cigarette and izaya's hand so bird bones i like how the frame is tilted up with the movement of it and like it throws him off kilter something about shizuo in izaya's hand blood all over his face in trying to save him but in the end the blood is still on izaya's the tumbling words “until you have to do it again” have a nice flow the hooded izaya there looking very cute and breakable i appreciate the details in the tags i'm curious as to where you might bring this as a story hm even if shizuo managed to save izaya and they grow old together would dying at that point still reset the timeline and force shizuo to relive this process all over again? would it hurt even more having lived happier endings that you're forced to bear the burden of remembering alone?

reblog this is ayano tateyama kgpr i want to eat the art style daniople such a cute ayano! she sit it's an adorable little pose but she also looks kind of pensive the expression is really nice i like how you draw her hair with such poof shapes and it poking out through the scarf like that is this an identity crisis her scarf flowing down and away from her as if she's floating above it and it sort of creating that uneven devil tail heart shape it's a really nice composition that makes me think she's just alone and thinking to herself in the daze

reblog bsd chuuya nakahara infallible pleucas ueeerwwgghh been seeing your bsd art for some time around here and twt and figured i should say something i wanna reblog more but when i get the energy to write tags for each of them individually i think your flowy line and pattern carrying bs is aweesomeee 😎 definitely had me oouuggwwhhhhh when i first saw it so that's why it goes first i don't exactly consume the source material so i can't catch all the lore details but hey i see your tags and appreciate the scar details very cool :0 the lines (corruption?) coiling out from beyond his clothes ummm is it intentional symbolism or whatever that the directly scarred hand doesn't have claws like you're highlighting the duality of his humanities and inhumanities between his left and right hand since getting wounded and it leaving behind a scar is sort of a sign of having been vulnerable and not <- someone who doesn't know what they're talking about oh and the hands you drew there are a really lovely shape i really like the way they look c: nyways i love the composition!! chuuya's pose from the back <3 has a helpless weightlessness to it (heh) love your art style and the way you drew him here with really nice shapes in the clothes folds and stuff idk what fit this is i haven't seen it on him before but it's a dapper look (cute) combined with the baby ponytail he's like a kid fitting into a role older than him <33 the shape of his hair with the lines and curls and textures i'm a big fan ummmm?? and the anatomical heart with that piercing strike ughhhh i love that a lot so gorgeous the colour palette of this soft pinkish orange and deep ocean blueish purple is really pretty zooming in on all the lines shapes and textures just has me like wow i really like the way you art :)

reblog drrr comic good shizaya a cheap imitation shigaeru the fade in from ''i have someone to thank then'' to ''passed up a perfect opportunity is what i did!'' is great hgfgh i've got to commend the way you manage to adapt the narrative voice into thoughts and dialogue that flow together really well also just a me thing but the crack crack of the hands to the crunch crunch of the sands it's been over an hour and this man is still thinking about izaya i too feel the intense urge to start pacing around aimlessly and ranting to myself when flea is on the brain the cut on his arm ahh shizuo with rolled up sleeves aw is he trying to keep the blood off the clothes kasuka got him good on him for not totally losing his shit when izaya cut it that screaming shizuo panel hjgjghhj he has so much rage and the flea background it's perfect i can hear the buzzing the expression with his hand there too is great that curved panel swerving with the swoopy perspective i don't know words but i think that's really cool his cuffs just casually strung across the sand we hardly see him even acknowledge them because they are literally just ugly bracelets i like the smoke flowing over the panel nice of you to take a moment away from fuming over izaya to actually think about where ya going shizuo hghsajhdgvahjh shizuo with the dango so cute cup ramen for dinner huh i just have to imagine him swerving out of the store and instantly toppling over on his way out last tag to talk about the expressions particularly with the dango and at the end they are good he just really cares for dango

durarara ummmm izaya orihara i made a thing a cheap imitation chapter 49 ART BY @ROSA-MALTZ been sitting on this for wayyyy too long i'm just getting it out now can't add a video to reblogs so this is a separate post but i did a similar thing before with the paper in a jar photos so at least i'm consistent some stuff has been omitted or slightly rearranged for smoother viewing experience i'm always open to talk about these if anyone wants to ask about them btw there's also a slider on the right that shows a rough sense of time between updates i was managing this while working on the chapter 50 thing in tandem since that one was soooo ambitious to me and i wanted time to figure this out because i know how particular i am with things they were both like 6 times longer to work on than the usual marketings before this we were extending the times between reading these chapters and i remember we actually split ch49 into like 3 sessions lol reading back through these chat logs kinda had me feeling soooo bad for rosa again omg this was not easy for her but she's assured me it's okay sigh i made two aspect ratio versions of this one for here and one for like a short to upload to youtube at 9:16 vertical the thing that's holding me back from uploading that already is that i don't like how the the crops i couldn't rearrange them enough to be clean so like there's pixels of letters peeking from the top and bottom of the screen no one will notice it but i have and that's just one of the many immovable objects in my head stopping me from finishing this omg but the version at this aspect ratio should be fine so i'm hoping the sooner i just post this it'll push me into caring less and finally being done with it
