Dispel the Darkness

Buddy rubbed his numbing hands and cursed under his breath as he watched the first white flakes gliding down from above.

(He’s not coming.)

The thought hurt more than he would have liked to admit. He had been waiting for almost an hour now, watching the people passing by, smiling, a joyful atmosphere all around him. But Sasha wasn’t smiling. He had wanted to abandon the idea, to turn around and go home, spending the evening in the quiet confines of his apartment. But every time he had made up his mind, hope had reeled its head again, persuading him to wait for just five minutes longer. Fool that he was, he had given in all the time, always finding another excuse why the one he was waiting for hadn’t shown up yet.

But the truth dawned on him, slowly but steadily.

I want to have Alexander Kozachenko to pin me to the wall, look down at me as his eyes change from normal to that deep shade of red before forcefully kissing me.

Once they're back in inside, tension Sasha didn't realize was there before skowly begins bleeding from his shoulders. He can feel exhaustion creep in bit by bit, the day taking its toll after weeks of him not doing much aside from occasional physical therapy and otherwise resting in bed. He almsot finds himself missing the naps he was able to take throughout the days in the hospital before, even though at the time he'd more often than not been frustrated by the lack of anything else to do.

The task at hand seems daunting in comparison, and thus it doesn't take much for him to convince himself to accept Leon's offer of help. Although, as it turns out, Leon isn't particularly helpful half of the time, because the moment he is done chopping his part of the vegetables he begins stealing stuff from Sasha's chopping board to munch on, giving him that cheeky grin Sasha's become irritatedly fond of as of late when he narrows his eyes at him in turn. "Would you stop that?" Sasha asks at some point and feels compelled to pinch Leon in the side when he, in fact, does not stop.

Leon also has a way of standing precisely infront of the cabinet Sasha needs to open at any given time, causing him to at some point simply put his hands on either side of Leon's hips while the other is mid sentence into telling a story and physically moving him out of the way when he doesn't get the hint of Sasha wheeling himself close in order to open a lower cabinet to find a pot to cook with.

"You are a menace." Sasha says gruffly when he gives Leon another nudge with the cabinet door as Leon still manages to be slightly in the way. He looks up at him then to find him suspiciously quiet all of the sudden, but after the day they've had and with Sasha slowly learning to navigate around Leon's way of purposely irritating him just to be contrary, it doesn't come out half as harsh as it might have on any other day. "Just go sit over there and look pretty, I can handle the rest myself."

Then he is forced to catch Leon's hand again, when he fails to swat at it in order to keep him from stealing yet another piece of vegetable. "Stop. It." He says once more, this time with more authority in his tone, the words coming out harsher without him really meaning to give them that much gravity. He is surprised when Leon actually backs down and he is able to extract the piece of carrot from his grasp. In turn, Leon seems just as confused by it as Sasha is, only to then have his other hand pick up a different piece of vegetable to put between his teeth, smiling around it.

Sasha sighs. "You're having far too much fun outmaneuvering a man in a wheelchair." He scoffs. "Aren't you ashamed of yourself?" He tries for a more serious tone, but he can't quite hide the upwards quirk of his lips at Leon's behavior, amusement far outweighing the annoyance of cooking with increased difficulty when Leon's eyes shine with such mischief.

 I wish there was a continuation of RE: Damnation with more Alexander Kozachenko, not the angry/bitter Alex but with the man who is emotionally vulnerable and learning to cope with his disability and his traumatic past. 

I mean this guy is an interesting character, I want to see more of him. and i want to see him happy

“Hah…“ A long, heavy sigh wandered through the room, reflected by white empty walls. The door silently closed behind them, keeping the hot afternoon sun from entering the surprisingly cool flat. Both men shivered slightly as soon as they passed through the doorway. At least one of them though felt the overall atmosphere weighing down on him way more than the change of temperature. Just moments ago, the Slav couldn’t have felt more relieved at the thought of getting rid of his clothes, but right now in the presence of the man behind him with all those unspoken desires between them, he didn’t favour that idea as much anymore. He had been so eager before, but now it all seemed rushed and maybe that rising need had been the result of the scorching sun. Or maybe not. The veins pulsating beneath his rough, scarred skin belied his growing denial. They seemed as if they were going to explode any minute, the blood rushing through his body at an alarming speed. To him it seemed as if a bird tried to break free from its cage, his own heart just barely being held in place by tissues of muscle. Did he truly want to take it further? “You want something to drink?“ The sudden question coming from behind made him flinch abruptly. Even though the man had been well aware of the presence of the other - more than he’d ever admit to himself – he hadn’t seen that coming. “You planning something?“, he retorted, trying to make the following grin seem as effortless as possible. Without being able to see his own reflection though he pretty much could picture in his head how stupid he had to look right now with a crooked grin which was probably nowhere near natural. Still it did earn him a brilliant smile by the American – a smile a little too brilliant and a way too flirty “Only if you do.” Even though he could feel the urge to punch Leon in the sides rise, he was rather relieved at the goofiness the man displayed. It made him finally relax for the first time since having entered the flat.
