00:05am - written immediately after previous post. my tumblrs been neglected due to my focus on other social media and shitty life stuff in general. planning to focus my spare time and attention solely on here and on this blog, i’ll probably move away from dark academia and shift towards my more recent interests and studyblr things but i’m unsure as to what exactly yet.  having champage problems and in dire need of sleep ~ Amimi

does anyone have any tips/tricks/recommendations for cv-writing, job applications and looking for opportunities like internships and summer programs? trying to get admin/managerial and/or film/art related places has been really hard as a student still in first year of sixth form. please interact and let me know as any and all input would be appreciated <3

july (juvenile jollification)

Sunday 6th August 1:35am writing this a bit late because im in a bit of a slump.

starting off the month with a bang, i went a bit of an adventure during homestudy (not very studyblr of me) and ventured off to birmingham with my bestfriend! it was sooo cool, we didn't explore everything, just bullring and the station, as well as the highstreet? i think its called (im really tired, forgive the lackluster writing). the highlight of the day was definitely trying wingstop, we each picked a flavour, lemon pepper and spicy korean bbq with cajun fries and... oh. my. g o d. i can understand the craze because it's been a month and my cravings have not stopped. lets just say the many many many runs to kfc and other fast food places can no longer satisfy my hunger. i bought a ton of clothes for the upcoming school year too! multiple ruched tops in brown, cream and pink, a long pink midi skirt, a brown mockneck sweater and a beige one too! oh and a cable knit pink cardigan (if you can't tell i like pink lolol) school ended on the 17th? i think it was, which is the wrap up of year 12. as far as the last day of school can go, i think mine was really good! they set up a bouncy castle, sumo wrestling and more in the school gym and it was so fun! i hadn't intended on actually using or trying anything but i ended up being spontaneous. i can gladly say that i crushed my opponent in sumo wrestling 3-0 so fear me. i grabbed oodles with two of my friends, which btw if you haven't tried. you NEED to. its to die for. udon noodles reign supreme. since the holiday started i haven't done much, mainly watching shows and movies like 25 21, and the second season of the summer i turned pretty - yi jin and jeremiah 4 lyfe. i promise the 7 days 7 movies series will be out soon! til next time! update: kinda late but oh well, exam was alr but not as good as i wanted - at first i was really distraught but then i reminded myself of those supposed literature nerds who write Scrooge/Marley fanfics on ao3 and how failing literature meant i was definitely not one of them :D

English teachers, You either did something incredibly right or incredibly wrong when teaching A Christmas Carol in GCSE English because there is 34 works under the tag Jacob Marley/Ebenezer Scrooge on ao3. A few of them are tagged with references to GCSEs.

hey hey hey! paris was awesome! took a bunch of polaroids so the aesthetic is on fleek. disneyland really was awesome, best part of the trip for sure! i cried so badly at the Illuminations light and firework show that i forgot to take a picture. my first time seeing fireworks! i ended up standing there in utter awe and sobbing hysterically while staring at the pretty pretty pretty lights -although, the hotel was awful, dirty bedsheets gave me an acne breakout and there was a cockroach and the worlds biggest spider hiding in the corners on the ceiling and i vomited on the ferry and the coach to the horror of the girl sitting next to me, she was cool though, she let me sleep on her shoulder and seemed unfazed by it all, im not going to let those things ruin it for me, rather i’d prefer to look back at the trip fondly. overall it was awesome

watching shadow and bone while waiting for the fireworks to go off and lowkey wishing the crows were from the UK omggggg because blowing up the house of parliament but actually getting away with it would be the most kaz brekker thing ever.

movies (for when you want to cry)

believe it or not, my blog was supposed to be all about movies and film (thus the name filminah, innovative i know) i don't know if i enjoy torturing myself or what but here are some movies that made me cry. when marnie was there (anime 2014) - follows teen anna sasaki through a journey of self exploration that takes place due to a mysterious girl she meets named marnie. now, this is definitely not the best ghibli film ever, a little awkward at times especially in the dub but yonebayashi hiromasa does not know how to make a bad movie. the twist was kinda expected but it's ghibli and it's so damn charming you can't help but get attached to anna and marnie and feel everything the way they do. i want to eat your pancreas (anime 2018) - the title is weird, i know. an introverted boy, haruki finds out the secret of his very popular, bubbly polar-opposite-of-him classmate named sakura. she is affected with a severe pancreatic disease. the way they build the connection between the main two characters is so so good to watch, fulfilling what you know will happen in the most unexpected way and showing the aftermath of the movies major events. a silent voice (anime 2016)- this was the first movie i ever found sad enough to make me cry actual tears. ishida shoyo bullied a nishimiya shouko in middle school. shouko is deaf. now a highschooler, after being unable to commit s**c*d* he finds himself becoming friends with shouko, helping her get better and maybe himself along the way. imo this film is one of the best representations of a lead with struggling mental health and they show that incredibly well in both visuals and dialogue, kyoto animation always impresses with their work and the sound work is impeccably done with the way they establish an atmosphere or put you in a characters shoes, embodying them. link to pt 2 (to be added)
