What’s incredibly frustrating about Phantom Planet is there was perfect build up for a reveal.
no no not the phantom planet or even AGIT reveal, I mean ‘canon’
seriously Valerie had not only figured out that half-ghosts exist AND ARE POSSIBLE— but Vlad Masters is one! She now knows about half ghosts! There could have been an episode of her slowly but surely finding out about Danny’s secret by spying on Vlad, researching into the Fentons more and heck, TALKING TO PHANTOM (casually or about Dani!!)
it’s just frustrating to see a show with such a good concept get cut off so short. I’m mad now, thanks bye
The episode transcripts on the Danny Phantom wiki are a blessing, but they also force me to routinely face realizations like-
Kindred Spirits, probably one of the absolute worst episodes for Danny - where he gets kidnapped and finds out that Vlad has been cloning him for months and also gets literally tortured - is... also about how he isn't considerate enough of his friends for some reason
And I can't help but think of that flight home where maybe Danny doesn't explain to them about the cloning thing yet and maybe doesn't mention being tortured or that Vlad's been spying on him or that he watched himself melt and maybe makes no attempt to seek comfort whatsoever because, you know, they're mad at him, what business does he have asking for anything when they just rescued him and he's been so ungrateful lately?
And I just think that maybe lecturing Danny about being a bad friend could have waited for a different episode

Dash, about halfway through high school has a mideducation crisis and realizes that maybe bullying isn’t all that fun when it has lasting effects (Pointdexter knocked hella sense into him)
so, overhyped by this sudden change, Dash decides to dedicate the rest of his years to becoming a psychologist and professional teen therapist (for those who get bullied)
Danny is confused but absolutely okay with this
and the rest of the football team is wondering why Dash is going over to the Fenton’s household after practice (to steal Jazz’s books and get free fudge that always tastes like acidic ranch for some reason)
