Where Every Scroll is a New Adventure
She knew how the protocol dictated and it only gave her three minutes at most. If she didn't remove all traces of her hacking into the victim's computer, they would label her a suspect. She was a cyber vigilante, not a murderer, thank you very much. Criminals are very sensitive about the crimes they commit, and the least you could do is to accuse her accurately.
She began severing each connection, leaving behind no trace, but before she could finish, Detective Alvarez zeroed his eyes on the hidden camera and pulled out a notepad from his jacket. Then, he strode across the Persian rug, and bent low until he was right in front of the camera. He unfolded the paper and held it up. On it was one message.
How long have you been watching, Oblivion?
The screen blacked out. All connections severed from the camera.
thank you to @rae-lune for the tag <33 so happy i have something to share this time! here’s some more platonic moonflower from lotf ch 4! they’ve honestly taken over the chapter a bit and i have no control over it 😌
“God, Lily, why do you let me do these things?!” Remus wails, flopping down on the bed so his face is squished into the pillow.
A giggle comes from his phone. “I don't have any control over you, Remus. You did this yourself,” Lily says.
“That's not true! You know you do!” he whines. “You encouraged me to flirt with him!”
Lily sighs. “Yes, well, I didn't think you were going to have a great big panic about it.”
“That's not true either,” Remus complains, exaggerating the pout already present on his face. Never mind that she can't see it through the phone; she'll know it's there. “If you don't know me better than that by now that's entirely your fault.” He finishes strong by sticking out his tongue.
She sighs again, and Remus begins to feel rather offended. What has he done that's worthy of two sighs?
np tagging @goldenprophetwrites @madefortherain @tortoisebore!
sneaking this in just under the wire. thanks to @madefortherain for the tag!
(just a short one today because lotf chapter 3 has been giving me Issues)
And that...that earns a laugh out of Sirius. A real one, Remus can tell. He finds himself staring at the way Sirius's smile widens until it breaks open, the way his eyes flutter closed. Every single thing this man does is beautiful.

a bit late to this as always but tysm to @madefortherain for the tag! here’s a short snippet from chapter 3 of love on the fly :)
Regardless, it delights Remus to see Sirius get a bit flustered, a bit less put together. He likes knowing he caused that. Him. Sirius seems so put together, with his full suit and starched shirt and graceful movements, and Remus is making him flustered.

You know what? For Mother's day, shout out to Quentin's mom Iris. She was such a loving, queer friendly, and all around wonderful person. She helped Quentin become the wonderfully kind and tolerant person he is at the start of Infernal Serenade. Here's a little snippet of her from the first book, a memory of her sticking up for Quentin after he got into a fight with an ableist and homophobic peer in high school:
I still remember how my mother looked back then, hair cut though she was letting it grow out, with a business top and slacks. At the time, I had grown used to the sight, not realizing she would quit that job in only a month’s time.... ...I would have laughed at the loud, whiny voice coming from the other line if it wasn’t directed at her. From the entryway, I could only hear a few choice words and they certainly weren’t pretty. Still, she nodded along, looking as intimidated by it as a dog was to a tiny grasshopper. That is to say, not in the slightest... “With all due respect, Mrs. Bria, if your child wasn’t calling mine…let’s see, what did he say again? Right, he called him a loony and a faggot, [Quentin] probably wouldn’t feel the need to retaliate...But, if I’m going to talk to my son about it, the least you can do is talk to your son about the language he is deciding to use with his classmates...No Mrs. Bria, I don’t think it has anything to do with them being boys. Could you please just talk to him?”
