My JJBA Oc!!!

i finally finished making my jjba oc!!! :D don’t mind my crappy artstyle lmao but besides that i’m lowkey proud!!! i did a lot of research on inspo that araki used to try and make her more accurate. i’m not sure if i succeeded with that or not but it’s whatever 😭😭

Here’s a couple of self insert characters of my best friend Monique and I! She’s an Easter Bunny and I’m a tooth fairy! I’ll put all the info about these characters in a “read more”…

Me and my dear friend Monique were having a goofy conversation about “why the Grinch and the Lorax would make a great couple”. I asked what their ship name would be and she said “Christmas Tree” because it’s “one furry man who learned to love Christmas and another furry man who loves trees” and so we started adding more and more fictional characters to this story, calling it “The Christmas Tree AU”. And then she said “what if we’re in this story too” and she told me she wanted to be the Easter Bunny in this AU so I decided I’d be the tooth fairy because I adore fairy and already wanted to make a fairy self insert! So that’s the story of how this came to be! I might make another self insert that’s more serious at some point but honestly I kinda love the tooth fairy concept soooo maybe not, lol!! Here’s a sketch of Monique in “Bunny Form”…

I've haven't watched much of Samurai Champloo yet but I've already drawn out a self-insert lol.

Isaac aka Izzie is a foreigner who was abandoned by his parents as a pre-teen for being too improper for a young lady (aka they're transphobic) before being taken in by the Yamamotos, a humble family of swordsmiths. His adopted father, Daichi Yamamoto was also a formerly renowned swordsman who taught Isaac everything he knows.

Once he grew up, he became a traveling ronin, doing odd jobs for money. Then Isaac met Fuu awhile before Mugen and Jin did. He destroyed some property when getting into a fight, and so to pay her and the tea house owners back he began working there. Then during the events of the first episode, after Isaac displayed his exceptional skills as a swordsman when helping Fuu free Mugen and Jin, he was also roped into the promise between the three. Though unlike the other two, Isaac was willing to keep his word.

Mugen and Isaac clash just about as much as Jin and Mugen do, although there's a lot more teasing and flirting from Mugen when it comes to Isaac. Mugen's got several nicknames he uses to mock Isaac such as "Pinky", "Sweetheart", "Pretty Boy", "Sugar"

Let me introduce to y’all, Gremlin Ethne!

This is the tiny gremlin version of myself/my OC, enabling all my incredibly silly actions.

She came about because I have been feeling way too chaotic recently. I just wanna see silly things happen, and this gremlin is the personification of that feeling.

Do with her what you will, though she may bite your ankles :)

So, self insert ocs.

As someone who’s blog revolves around this one, I have some thoughts on the post.

Edith was originally a self insert oc. However, since I wanted the fic I was writing to be a sort of love letter to the community, I decided to expand her personality and try to make it so that she could be projected on by anybody. Or at least, as many people as possible. Speaking a second language, feeling out of place, having anxiety about going places, making impressions, the things in her past and mistakes she’s made, all of these things are a mixture of what I feel and what I’ve heard others feel a lot, and so I added them.

But she is, in fact, her own character and 10th class, whom I love a lot. Whether or not she is so wholly unique that she stands out, I don’t care.

But what I did care about, ironically enough, was making an impression. And that came with the mechanics of her class. 

Just because you have a self insert or 10th class OC, you are not obligated in any way to explain what their purpose is, what their reasons are, so long as YOU are happy.

For me, I wanted to come up with a unique 10th class that had her own mechanics, but that’s because I saw untapped potential. If she were to be in the game, it would be near impossible for those mechanics to actually work due to map limitations. 

And that’s the thing, because she’s a work of fiction, it doesn’t matter.

That means I can get as creative as I want with her, because she’s not part of the game. 

As for shipping, my personal rule is not to ship her with any of the mercs! Not in the main fic, anyway. Might make some spinoffs if I ever finish the main one, but I felt that many had a bias towards certain characters they liked, (which is absolutely fair and I love those kinds of fics either way), and I wanted to keep it so that she could have varying relationships with everyone and not just romance! It’s for personal reasons, not influenced by anybody else.

 However, I immensely enjoy seeing people shipping their ocs and self inserts with the team! Why the heck do you think I post x reader headcanons sometimes?

In the end, your characters are not more or less valid, and you don’t love your characters more or less depending on how developed they are.

As long as a character makes you happy, as long as the relationships they share make you happy, as long as you are content, then nobody, and I mean NOBODY can tell you how YOU should write YOUR characters.

You can take overdone concepts and expand upon them in your own way, because your character is unique to YOU.

You can give them modern day clothes and use tropes because your character is unique to YOU.

and YOU,

can do whatever you DAMN want.

You are valid, loved, and your characters, your self inserts, your tenth classes are yours and yours only. I support you all the way!

Anyways I listened to the voices. Here's my cringe poppy playtime self insert lol.

Her name is Handy Helper, or her helper handy is not sure yet.

•She's part of the safe haven gang.

• participated in the hour of joy like every other toy

She was originally just supposed to help around the factory fixing and cleaning things like pipes, leaks, cracks in the walls, and painting.

•She became the Mascot of the art program in playcare due to Stella noticing her art and how she would draw on everything.

•As I stated before, she wasn't originally going to be a character but playtime figured kids would ask questions on who she was.

•Basically, a re-skinned miss delight body but with a spider lower half

• Was NOT an orphan of the factory she actually had family. It's kinda like Jack's situation. When I went on, a tour got killed.

• when first tested with the orphans in playcare, it was half and half. Some of them were scared or cried.

• Scientist noted that she does not do well around loud sounds
