Not on anon XD but still wanted to send an ask. How do you think it would play out if Saebyeok and Jiyeong were the ones who were the final players? Would they vote to end the game or would Jiyeong want Saebyeok to win?

I genuinely see them leaving together; I think Ji-yeong might go in with the intention of giving up her life, but I think Sae-byeok would plead with her not to.

in the fourth game, Ji-yeong was willing to die for Sae-byeok.

after another game, another brush with death, and two more nights together, with fewer people to come between them and more opportunities to talk? I think the heart-to-heart they had in the marble game would have happened organically even if they didn’t play that game together, in another way at another time. a lonely night watch together. a moment of vulnerability somewhere.

what I mean is, I cannot see Ji-yeong willingly leaving Sae-byeok having become closer than they already were. Sae-byeok is everything Ji-yeong needs — family, love, shelter, someone who cares and will fight for her. someone who can love her.

and Sae-byeok would fight for her. she begged Ji-yeong not to die for her, and she wouldn’t allow her to here. Ji-yeong could step out of the squid and lose the game, but I think Sae-byeok would stand in her way and tell her that she’ll leave with her. that she’ll fight for her. that they’ll make it work. Ji-yeong doesn’t have nothing any more. they have each other.

finally: when Ji-yeong played the marble game with Sae-byeok, she repeatedly talked about what they would do together once they left. she was so enamoured with the idea of spending life on the outside with Sae-byeok that she literally forgot that one of them had to die. that is not the thought process of someone who has already decided to give up their life.

when the gun was pointed at Ji-yeong, she was holding back tears. she was scared. she didn’t want to die, she chose to because she valued Sae-byeok’s life above her own. because the alternative was continuing a life that she saw no meaning in, knowing that Sae-byeok’s life was ended for her. it wasn’t worth it.

given the choice between death, a life without Sae-byeok — financially assured, but at what cost? — or to leave together, with a home to go to? Ji-yeong isn’t a pessimist. the moment Sae-byeok shared her dreams with her — Jeju island, a home, a family — they became Ji-yeong’s dreams as well. she wanted them for Sae-byeok, and she wanted to be there with her.

they’re leaving together, Sae-byeok immediately takes Ji-yeong into her apartment — or wherever she’s staying. she’ll make it work, for her — and they start over.

I listen to the soundtrack sometimes, especially when I’m working on a fic if I want to get into a particular mood or headspace, but I cannot listen to ‘Dawn’ because it only plays in that one scene and it’s just so sad. I start crying every time

Is 100% a cat person. They're distant, untrusting and sceptical like her and she always enjoys hanging out with them, even if it means sitting miles away from one.

Sae-byeok was worried.

She didn’t worry often but when she did, her thoughts wandered and wandered.

Her girlfriend wasn’t responding to any of her texts and even her calls.

She was about to get off work, she even asked to leave early because she was so worried, you always picked up the phone.

What if someone got to you? What if someone hurt you?

All these bad thoughts consume her as she drove to your shared apartment.

She sighs, taking her phone out and calling you again, no answer. Again, no answer. She groans, stepping on the gas more.

She finally got to the apartment building and quickly grabbed her things, she got out of her car and sped walked to the door.

She unlocked it and opened the door, it was quiet, too quiet. She shut the door and locked it.

“Baby?” She calls out.

No response. She spots your phone on the couch, charging while the TV played, meaning you were out here watching TV and on your phone, at least earlier.

She sighs, quickly going to the bedroom, she sighs when she’s met with your sleeping self, snoring lightly as you cuddle your cat. A few of toys laid beside y’all.

She sets her things down, rubbing her face before taking her jacket off.

“Babe, i’m home.” She whispers, crawling behind you.

She rubs your hip and your cat wakes up, meowing up at your girlfriend.

She rubs the cats back and it purrs at her, leaning into her touch as it’s eyes close.

She kisses your cheek and the cat licks her face, then yours and you hum in your sleep.

“Stop, go back to sleep.” You mutter.

“Baby, i’m home.” She whisper, you flinch.

“Honey, you scared me!” You sigh, rubbing your tired eyes.

She hums, “Tell me about it.”

“You okay, my love?” You rub her arm as your cat crawls onto your lap, wanting attention.

You rub her fur and she purrs. “Nothing, I was just a little worried about you.”

“Oh, why?” You ask, yawning.

“I tried calling and texting you while I was at work.”

“Oh…i’m so sorry honey. My phone is in the living room, we were watching TV in there and we ended up playing with some toys in here and we fell asleep.”

“It’s okay, babe. I’m just glad you’re okay.” She caresses your face, you smile.

“Of course i’m okay.” You hum.

“Now, go back to sleep, i’ll cuddle with y’all.” She covers herself with the covers y’all were using.

You giggle, feeling her wrap her arms around you. “I love you.” You hum.

“I love you too, baby.” She said, cuddling into you as you cuddle the cat and your girlfriend.

“This one is taking all the attention.” She scratches the cats head and it meows at her.

“You knew what you signed up for, honey.” You kiss her cheek.

You cuddle into her and you soon both fell asleep in each others arms.
