Over the Ghost Wall

HEHEH did a bunch if drawings and doodles for @thehoodedsweater Over the Garden Wall Ghostbusters au!!

Again NOT MY AU it belongs to @thehoodedsweater

Bonus one I did with the fall colors before I remembered it's supposed to be covered in snow..

These are also all just my ideas and interpretations of Sweaters ideas!

Since you haven't settled on a name for the Over the Garden Wall au...

How does Over the Frozen Wall sound? Since it seems to be very frozen empire themed?

Ooooh maybe! It is pretty frozen empire themed, so that might work! I still might use aspects of fall, since I still want to keep Pottsfield… as well as Halloween, since the original series had Greg and Wirt climbing the wall on Halloween… (But maybe it could be more winter holiday themed?)

Maybe it’s erratic weather patterns? Summerville already had earthquakes, maybe they get early snow too, and it’s already snowing on Halloween? Or it’s just normal fall weather, but when they arrive in the Unknown, it’s already snowing…

Or it’ll be like the OG series, where the transition from fall to winter is slow but noticeable…

But who knows? I’ll make a choice soon, hopefully. If you have an idea or like one of mine please let me know so I can use it :) Thanks for the name idea :]

Also, for Egon’s design, in planning on having more spooky aspects.. his eyes (for the most part) will be blue instead of brown.. hinting at Garraka’s manipulation… and under the scarf, mask and goggles, he probably has scars that look like ice… or he just has flat out frozen parts of his face and hands… since he’s been wandering so long…

he gets his brown eyes back a couple times.. when having doubts about listening to him…

And by the end, they finally go back to normal. He wasn’t the beast, like how Greg and Wirt assumed of the Woodsman in one episode… but a broken man just trying to bring his daughter back, only a mere puppet by the real monster all along.

god this is depressing. I LOVE IT.

Fellas help

So I’m trying to think of a design for Over the Ghost Wall/Over the Busted Wall Egon, but I can’t decide :((

My plan was to have his outfit be winter clothing (still inspired off the Woodsman), since the Unknown is a near permanent winter in this AU, but this is where I hit a block. One idea was that he has permanent shined or fogged glasses (or goggles) covering his eyes to add to the mystery.

Another was with a scarf covering half of his face, adding onto the “hiding his face” bit from the glasses. My last idea would be some kind of animal mask, like a deer or an owl. Something spooky with symbolism? A lot of these ideas have to do with hiding and covering up his real identity, which could maybe be used in his storyline- especially since he’s related to Trevor and Phoebe, who take the roles of Greg and Wirt… Tumblr is usually a great place I use for decisions, so what do you guys think sounds good lol

Update on this, this is her second time watching with me present and here’s some of my favorite commentary

“They’re exes” (About Peter and Peck- after Peter called Peck “Dickless” I said “How would he know.” Cue that response.

“He lost it in a work accident.” (Right after the “dickless” comment, HELP-)

“I’ll never look at Egon the same way again.” (About the mood slime incident from GB2)

“I dunno why you like him. He’s looks like one of those cats that’s been stung by a bee.” (About Louis)

Various suggestive comments, somehow almost all of them having something to do with Ray being on screen

Repeating me saying “HOT” whenever Dana’s on screen

Over The Ghost Wall/Over the Busted Wall

Phoebe and Trevor take the role of Greg and Wirt, with Phoebe as Greg and Trevor as Wirt. The two climbed over a broken wall in the graveyard, leading them to the Unknown. A space forgotten by time, but well remembered by anyone who visits. Instead of just the woods, it’s trapped in an eternal winter from the Beast, AKA Garrakka, who freezes children into lifeless blobs of ice, and relies on the souls to keep himself alive with the lantern the Woodsman (or in this case, an Icebreaker? Idk what do you call people who break apart ice for a living.) Melody is Beatrice, cursed to be a Ghostly bird until she finds a way to move on and save her family. I had two ideas for the Woodsman. Either it’s Egon, tricked into believing that the soul he was keeping alive in the lantern was Callie’s, and he wants to bring her back-

Or it’s Peter, Winston or Ray, thinking that the soul in the lantern is Egon’s, wanting to bring him back after him being gone for years and years..

and Slimer’s the frog.

Idk about the rest yet, if you have ideas please speak up! Also if you guys use this please tag me, I’d love to see any ideas or art or whatever else you guys make :]

It’s the Lost and Egon!

Omg I never noticed just how much range there was!! Whenever I played the game I was too busy hunting for achievements and secrets (and kinda getting lectured for going really slow, cause sometimes they’ll ask if you’re okay or say that it’s fine to move into the next room and not stand around)

I also feel like you get some of the least solo time with Egon, other than the second Sedgewick hotel level (Which I adored, the spider witch freaked me the hell out but I love moments with Egon in game) and some other random moments. He always seems to get separated from them. (The staircase breaking and flooding before he can join, separation in the ghost realm) He and Winston don’t get many solo moments with the Rookie, I’ve noticed, which makes me sad. (Unless I forgot something here and there are more moments than I said, it’s been a couple months and I need to replay the game.)

God bless the video games for giving us so many more examples of his voice and personality that the films' limited runtimes couldn't really provide. It feels like some people tend to forget how three-dimensional of a character he really is. These clips show his range so well.

Ship him with Janine? Cute, classic, I like it. Ship him with Ray? Adorable, keep it up please. Peter? Cute pair, has a lot of potential for angst. Winston? Louis? Rarepairs but I see you. Poly ghostbusters? Ocs? You have my heart, people. Please keep going I adore it. The list goes on and I love it. As long as the ships aren’t illegal and you aren’t hurting anyone ofc. I personally juggle Egon around like a bouncy ball when it comes to shipping. Who will he be shipped with next? Who knows! Have fun! Creativity is your gift. Use it to your advantage.

Okay so…

Edward had a lot of issues that wasn’t just his anxiety. He hopelessly followed Egon around because he had fallen for him. A couple days before Egon completely left town, Edward had decided to confess after years of being quiet. And it seemed that Egon reciprocated. But when he figured out Egon was planning on leaving, he was pissed. He spilled his guts and Egon was leaving- not the most pleasant of experiences. (although Egon was also trying to leave him so he wouldn’t get hurt, he probably would’ve explained things or left some letter to apologize, I don’t feel like he’s just leave someone who confessed to him just a day prior without some reasoning)

He left with Egon to Summerville after an argument and practically demanding an explanation and calling him out on the fact that leaving is a really bad idea, but because he didn’t know what else to do he just followed along, not just going out of love but to keep him from getting hurt or killed because of how destructive ghost research can be. For a while it was fine, Edward just stuck with him and at least tried to defend him from people who called him crazy. But eventually some other argument happened, right after Egon caught Vinz and was going to catch Zuul. This time Edward didn’t follow behind. Their last words to each other weren’t good ones, said in the heat of an argument they both wish they could’ve took back. Edward left the Dirt Farm. Egon tried to catch Zuul. And we all know how that went. Consumed by the guilt and with nobody else to turn to because they all thought he went nuts, Edward spiraled. He died only three days later, suicide by gunshot. In those three days he called and made several apologies, leaving voicemails or letters to say sorry for leaving them. When Callie and the others come back to the Dirt Farm, Phoebe can’t help but notice there’s a more mournful spirit in the house, forever roaming but too scared to approach Egon out of fear that he hates him, even though it’s not true at all.

Phoebe notices the problem and instantly wants to help solve it before Edward’s ghostly depression turns into anything worse, which could put the whole house and anybody inside at risk. OUCH THAT WAS A LOT OF INFODUMPING BUT UH LORE IG

Elizabeth Thomas-Edward’s older sister by thee years. A journalist, thankfully way more chill than her brother and has a little more of a stable life- not dead during afterlife and somehow has most of her mental stability, kinda acts as an older mentor type figure to some of the other characters

Vanessa ???-Trevor’s age- Has one of the most confusing bloodlines a person can have- is she cursed? Is she not? Nobody can tell. Related to Ivo Shandor because Ilyssa Selwyn somehow had a child (but it’s unknown with who.. yet) and now she’s not entirely trusted by anyone, leading her to be an outcast. Her fate is in her own hands, she just has to step up and take control of her own destiny before she loses any potential friendships she has for good. Maybe if she does, she can figure out the truth behind her existence. Ruth- Dead 1920s starlet, possibly knew the Spider Witch when she was alive, and for whatever reason completely hates Peter.

Hey Bird- it’s random connections from Sweater once again!

I’m Gravity Falls. Bill could only possess Ford while he was asleep. I’m Ghostfalls, Gozer would still possess Egon. And in the game, Egon mentions only sleeping for about fourteen minutes a day….

In Ghostfalls, do you think this would be because of Gozer? Or would he already have poor sleeping habits and they would just get worse because I of them?

Oooooo good question...

I feel like he would already have bad sleeping habits (not 14 minutes though, i feel like 14 minutes would be an after thing), man's gotta use every minute of the day.

But he would try to get rest sometimes and allow gozer to help with research (like Bill in the main show) but I feel like while he's being possessed his body isn't technically getting sleep, it's still functioning, it's just his soul? spirit? That's being pushed into the passengers seat. But because of this he gets worse and worse sleep wise.

How did this creature end up as my comfort character? No I’m like genuinely curious how the hell did he do that
