I have so many thoughts about these two I genuinely don't know where to start.

Pre-Stone World, Odie lived in a pretty bad place, and had very little in the way of a support network.

The one person you'd think would help her ran off as soon as he possibly could, so she had to deal with the brunt of it alone.

She is 100% Stan's biggest hater and it's his own fault

But then she gets assigned this little pen pal project in the Japanese class she's taking because her school just happens to offer it, and ends up picking Senku as her partner by chance (his class sent the first 'hello' letters.)

He doesn't give her much to work with, just a name and a generally polite greeting.

So that's all she sends back. Her name, and a generally polite greeting.

And that makes Senku curious. All the other kids in his class got long, drawn-out letters, so why didn't he? What was different about her?

They vibe together shockingly well, once they start actually communicating.

Once phone numbers are swapped, it's almost non-stop

He's a certified yapper and she's a listener, and he takes full advantage of that.

She has sat through several multi-hour science lectures without complaint. You think Yuzuruha and Taiju are strong willed? They've got nothing on this depressed American teenager.

Has, on more than one occasion, purposefully texted him a hyper-specific science question out of nowhere while he was in school just to see if he'll answer it

(He does. He texts her the most quick and dirty explanation, then goes into details about it on the phone later that night.)

She also skips school and pretends to be sick a lot, and Senku will always answer a text from her (unless he's in REM sleep, but he'll always reply to her as soon as he's up)

It doesn't matter that Japan is 16 hours ahead of the United States, if they're both awake, they're probably talking

Things like this are pretty common.

Senku is the one to bring up the idea of doing video calls with their computers instead of just regular phone calls.

She bullies the hell out of him and honestly he kinda likes it (not like that I swear)

He likes that she makes jabs at him, but isn't trying to actually hurt him

And he'll shoot it right back at her, so it was totally fair

I, too, am a certified yapper and I love these two so much I am so excited to have them have their reunion in my fic. A tiny spoiler, it doesn't go well.

Because he reminds me a lot of myself in the sense that he's gone through a number of traumatic events and is loves his friends to the point of being self destructive while disguising his deeper emotions with sarcasm and faux selfishness

If he does, then-

His eyes snap open, heart hammering hard in his chest. He stares exhaustedly up at the sky, ears straining for any kind of sign that someone had followed him, but found nothing but that now familiar, dreadful quiet. What was he even doing out here? Everyone was celebrating, he’d just gotten to hear Byakuya’s last message on the glass record, he should be somewhat at ease now. But he wasn’t, so he’d taken a walk to try and clear his head a little.

The need to sleep had hit him the moment he sat on the ground and leaned back on the fallen tree, his body heavy from the weight of everything happening. But when his eyes started to slide closed, his first instinct was to count, to force himself to stay awake.

Damn it, first he was begging for sleep in the silent stone world, and now he’s scared to? Maybe it was because he was alone right now that had him so worked up. 

Solitude never bothered him before, though he supposed that this new trait of his probably had something to do with the 3,700 years spent in total isolation. The human brain’s reaction to trauma really was something, but he didn’t think now was the time to develop an anxiety disorder.

this is not the face of a man who has gotten a proper nights sleep. those eyes are filled with mania. someone get him a blankie and some warm tea

How funny would it be if my dr stone oc was Stanley's younger sister (long estranged due to plot reasons) which leaves her feeling guilty for not trying to stop him from shooting Senku, feeling like it is somewhat her fault for not talking to Stan about literally anything but why would she he left her behind to rot in that hellhole by herself-

anyway...

idk it sounds fun to me and I still might do it anyway

I saw someone say that Senku probably counts to keep from falling asleep out of pure anxiety and I can't find the post now but how fucking dare you put that idea in my head while I'm trying to write a fanfiction.

It's bad enough he's horrendously touch starved and desperately lonely.
