Damn.

When you get clean, they don’t tell you that sobriety is its own Hell. They don’t tell you about that painful, empty space always present. They don’t tell you about the lonely days and lonely nights. They don’t tell you about the hours spent staring at a wall or wringing your hands because you don’t know what to do with your time anymore. They don’t tell you about how nothing is as exciting or fulfilling to you once you get sober because they want you to get clean. They want you to live life sober and away from drugs and the harms they can create. But do they understand that our drugs were our security, comfort, and safety? Our drugs taught us how to survive. - Take that away and what are we now? Lost.
