Shout out to the fic writers who write in English even though it's not their native language. Whether you just started and are using Google Translate more often than not, or you've been doing it for years and still translating sayings from your native tongue word for word that don't make much sense in English.

Your addition to the fandom is important and unique purple prose would be missed without your input. Don't give up even if you're unhappy with your progression. Remember that your writing is better today than it was yesterday, and that it'll be better tomorrow than it was today.

A very little detail about luffy that just came to mind (probably not important but pls excuse my tunnel vision when it comes to zolu), but zoro literally was the first strawhats that luffy shedded his tears for???

And not only that but i think it happened twice?

You can see rayleigh stopping kizaru from hurting zoro. Then if you look at the bottom panel, after seeing rayleigh you can spot the little snot from luffy's nose and a single tear from his left eye. Luffy was very relieved to see rayleigh, but more importantly, he was very relieved because rayleigh had just saved zoro from kizaru's attack.

Now the more i think about it, those two moments (when luffy cried(?) for zoro) were never really a grandiose one with all the big tears and ugly sobbing. But well, if you think about it, that kind of thing wouldn't be possible(?) not really... cuz at the time when those two situations occurred, zoro was in incredible danger AND with powerful foe/s around. Luffy didn't have the time to properly process his emotions. Like heck after mihawk slashed zoro, luffy even tried to attack mihawk. And with the sabaody arc one, the situation was even more chaotic..

So honestly? Im just thinking about how zoro probably was the first person outside of luffy's family and all of his loved ones from foosha village (imma include shanks and his crew just bcs) that ever made him cry. I'm talking about the 'you are important to me, i care about you, and i don't want you getting hurt/dead' kind of tears, and ughh, idk let me just excuse myself and weep for a bit

That being said, if im not wrong i think zoro and usopp are the only two strawhats who ever made their captain cry twice. (Luffy cried after the battle with usopp (usopp leaving the crew) and after usopp rejoining the crew)

Reading Zoro’s character description for the LA really hit me hard with the fact that Zoro’s probably happier now than he’s ever been in his life. “Meeting Luffy is the biggest thing that ever happened to Zoro”. And yes yes yes that’s true for most Strawhats, but thats usually because Luffy freed them from villains who were actively making their lives their lives miserable. Zoro was in trouble when he met Luffy, yes, but it was because of a deal he willingly made with Helmeppo, a punishment he decided to endure against someone who wasn't a real threat to him. Zoro was always free to do as he pleased. But, much like Luffy was before setting sail himself, he was also terribly alone.

Unable to build connections because once he set sail from each island his sense of direction made it so he could never return. Having to fight and kill to afford each meal, while maintaining a very demanding lifestyle. Facing each battle knowing that even if he wins, it’s could still be game over, as he couldn’t afford to sit back and let himself recover, and there was no one he could trust to help him dress wounds and stand up again.

By giving him a navigator, a cook, a doctor, a crew, Luffy has given him the world. People to love and protect and fall back on, people to help him follow his dream and enjoy every second of the chase. And I’m sure he tells himself that if he were to quit the crew at any time, he’d survive on his own just fine, but that’s such an empty fucking threat because these people have made him happier than he’s ever been, just as free as before but now finally living. I love him sm.
