Allow me to yeet this all at you amidst the Silksong hype, lolll
My personal headcanons:
Before the Pale King, the Radiance was not a malicious being. She was a little distant and had a bit of an intimidating aura to her, but she was never cruel and heartless.
(Saw this headcanon from someone else, I wish I could remember who it was Dx) The Radiance, like the other Higher Beings, once had a “mortal” form. The Pale King was the one who robbed her of it, beginning her sheer hatred for him and those who worshiped him.
It was once her own people forgot about her and began worshiping the Pale King that her true “villain arc” began. She had snapped with rage and created the infection to enact her vengeance against the kingdom that turned its back on her.
After so many centuries of feeling this hatred for the Pale King/his worshipers, she eventually lost herself completely to her madness.
The infected do not attack anyone who willingly worships her. It is the reason the Resting Grounds (or at least the “above ground” section of it) has no infected beings—because the Seer, her last priest, resides there.
And one (kinda but not really) related headcanon:
The Radiance does not see Nightmare King Grimm as an enemy. Partly because he also holds disdain for the Pale King, but also because the Radiance sees him as the Yin to her Yang. After all, people can’t truly appreciate a dream until they’ve experienced a nightmare.
Could anyone share their opinions/theories/headcanons about the Pale King, the Radiance, and their feud?
"Wherever you lead, I will surely follow."
Team Mothiva in the spotlight~! I've been wanting to draw these two for a long while and I finally sat down and made myself do it, lol.
Random funny thing: when I first played the game, I misread Mothiva's name as "MothVIa," and now I'm having such a hard time calling her by her actual name hsdjklfs
Thank ya! I do have some answers to these!
I have actually juggled around some ideas for what mortal Radiance would look like, though I haven’t quite settled on one specific one. I’ve been digging around Tumblr looking at other people’s interpretations of her tho and trying to come up with my own.
I had always thought the mossy vagabonds were already infected by the time you first reach them. So their praise of the Radiance was more due to the infection’s influence than anything having to do with their own devotion.
As for my interpretation of the Seer giving the Dream Nail to the knight, I’d thought of it as her attempt to either a) see if the knight could quell her rage and bring her back to the deity she once was, or b) stop her rampage, as the Seer is well aware of the damage her goddess has caused (at least, that was my interpretation for her last line before she disappears, about atoning for her clan’s mistakes). She still believes in the Radiance, but she is not following merely on blind faith. She is aware of what her Goddess has become, but she still hopes that things can be made right, whatever that may be.
I.. actually totally forgot about that line, tbh xD I might have to rethink on that headcanon then, lol. Perhaps some kind of argument between them, or her trying to reinstate her reign by being like “NO NIGHTMARES, ONLY DREAMS”
Could anyone share their opinions/theories/headcanons about the Pale King, the Radiance, and their feud?
I finally made some full-body references of my OCs, Konda and Sukari~! I’ve been writing up a fanfic with the two of them, Finding Our Voice. Join the two of them on a journey outside of Hebra for the first time. As the first Rito out of the region in a century, they find themselves face-to-face with many hardships that they must overcome together. Before they realize it, their simple plan to flee their homeland soon turns into a quest to reunite the Rito with the rest of Hyrule before the Calamity has a chance to strike...
I have risen from the dead to bring you bootiful sketches of bird mama ready to kick tail and take names~
The King has asked Herrah to be one of his Dreamers, but she was not one to sacrifice herself for the man who had turned the entirety of Hallownest against her people. Harsh life lessons had taught her to always have a plan in place, and thanks to that, she knew just how to get her revenge on the wyrm. She had caught the Pale King in her web, and how she was ready to watch him writhe.
I've uploaded the newest story in my series, "Until We Dream," which is a counterpart to "The King's Bargain" but told from Herrah's POV~ I hope you all enjoy it!
