Pokemon gijinkas but make it dnd.
hot take: realism in a work of fiction doesn’t come from being as grim as possible. it comes from detail.
Vander: I've always liked the name Violet. Silco: *snorts a line* Hey, you know what I like?
I find it very funny how the ending to Twilight of the Gods basically turns the Christianization of Norse mythology into an actual plot point, in that Odin saw his own future and saw Jesus and Christianity basically entirely replacing him and his fellow gods. Not *entirely* sure how well i liked it since it did feel a bit out of left field, but it was definitely an interesting direction to take.
There's an EU initiative going on right now that essentially boils down to wanting to force videogame publishers with paid games and/or games with paid elements such as DLC, expansions and microtransactions to leave said games in a playable state after they end support, or in simpler terms, make them stop killing games.
A "playable state" would be something like an offline mode for previously always online titles, or the ability for people to host their own servers where reasonably possible just to name some examples.
I don't think I need to tell anyone that having something you paid for being taken from you is bad, which is a thing that routinely happens with live service and other always online games with a notable recent example being The Crew which is now permanently unplayable.
Any EU citizen is eligible to sign the initiative, but only once and if you mess up that's it. You can find it here. (https://citizens-initiative.europa.eu/initiatives/details/2024/000007_en)
Even if you're not European or you signed it already, you can share this initiative with anyone who is, even if they don't care about videogames specifically because this needs a million signatures and there is different thresholds that need to be met for each EU country for their votes to even count and could also be a precedent for other similar practices like when Sony removed a bunch of Discovery TV content people paid for.
Totally not-shady NPC: I’ll need you to retrieve my secret cargo from the abandoned spaceship, but it’s very private, so don’t look inside–
Player: Is it a girl in a box?
NPC: …What?
Player: This is a sci-fi story, and there’s a box you don’t want us to look into. There’s only ever one way that ends, and it’s always with a girl stuffed into a box.
Other Player: Hey, we don’t even know how big it is. It could just be a cigar box.
First Player: Okay, you’re right. It could be a bunch of sex toys. How big is the box?
NPC: It’s… uh… six feet long by three feet wide by three feet deep…
First Player: Ugh. Okay, fine. Somebody pack a crowbar and a spare set of women’s clothing. We need to go get this girl out of her box.
Part 1, part 2 and part 3
And so they tell Naruto everything they know. That Minato was his father, Jiraya's student, they tell about his skills and mention how great he was in the war. Kakashi also tells Naruto he lost his team in that same war, not as many details, but does mention Minato was in charge of his team during those battles. They do tell him he was, in fact, the hokage and explain that the fox was previously sealed inside someone else, and how he died when the it was released.
Tsunade tells Naruto about his clan, their history, her own relation to Mito, where they came from and what they could do. She tells him about Kushina, how kind and determined she was, Jiarya and Kakashi add their own comments about her, great fighter and even greater person. How she accepted her fate while never losing herself. And then tell him she was his mother and jinchuuriki. They don't know the details of how the seal was broken, but tell Naruto everything his parents sacrificed for him and to save both he and the village.
They try to explain Hiruzen's idea of keeping it all a secret was to protect him, but don't excuse him. His plan failed and his mistakes came back to snake bite him. Tsunade wants Naruto to decide his own path, knowing the full truth, it's the least she can do.
After that, Kakashi knows Naruto is gonna need a little comforting, but doesn't trust any of the adults at that moment, so asks Sakura and Sasuke to make sure he's okay.
[All of this is happening at around the time Sasuke originally defected]

Elon Musk, the richest man in the world and advisor to President-elect Donald Trump, is a paid subscriber to a virulently racist X account. Musk not only follows an account called “Boer” (@twatterbaas) but is one of two accounts to pay it for “bonus content and extra perks.” Boer charges $5/month for said perks and content. In one of the account’s most recent tweets, Boer submitted that “Atrica [sic] has 54 countries, 1.487 billion people. On the Southern tip lays South Africa, with the largest Economy and best infrastructure. Guess what makes South Africa different from the rest of Africa? 4.6 million white people.”
In other instances, the account has touted rape rates in “Black ruled” countries, used pictures to suggest that the country was better off under racial apartheid, asked “why do blacks like to destroy and break what white man made?” and urged “these racist blacks of #SouthAfrica to stop being selfish and transfer the strategical jobs and planning to us whites of this country.”
Elon Musk loves far-right racists.

it is actually hard to take some people seriously when they talk about trans stuff bc they make it just absolutely patently clear that they have never spoken to transmasc ppl, esp transmascs of color, abt their experiences. (& their baseline for ‘transmasc’ is rly just ‘trans man,’ and white, passing/100% stealth trans man at that). bc otherwise they would notttt be saying some of the things they do about what transmascs allegedly do or don’t experience.
like there are ways to talk abt trans issues And transfem-specific issues and transmisogyny (and that transmisogyny is an extremely violent, ubiquitous system, in which everyone, including other trans people, is a participant) without making sweeping claims about what transmascs experience. just an example of stuff ive seen but. “transfems, including and even especially in queer spaces, get disproportionately painted as sexual predators and abusers and transmisogyny is what causes so many of these accusations to be levied against and believed about trans women with little proof. transmisogyny causes this and is used as a tool to violently isolate and silence transfems” is very true and extremely important. “transmascs don’t get painted as sexual deviants, sexual predators, abusers etc” or even “don’t systemically get painted as …” is ridiculous. it’s not the same experience; this specific example in particular is a phenomenon that gets experienced by diff trans ppl differently, but the blanket “transmascs don’t have this happen to them” is just wildly incorrect. transfem and transmasc experiences are not inherently opposites. this doesn’t mean they’re identical, or that transmisogyny is not a unique system that functions in unique ways, but there’s no need to make sweeping blanket statements that would be just instantly proven untrue if you’d ever like, listened to transmascs talking abt what they experience also.
