little alex horne looks like he sucks down sausages with gusto
so i have a mildly popular “reblog and put in in the tags” post going around and its. very clear how many people don’t know how to interact with a tumblr post
so, first of all, tumblr’s culture has changed a lot in the past couple years. there’s a genuine community effort to not start any drama, and ironically a lot of the current hostility is an effort to keep things calm. there’s also a change in how people interact with posts, so if you haven’t been here in a while please skip down to the tags/replies/reblog with text section.
for newcomers: you should be reblogging posts about as liberally as you would like something on twitter. if you only like stuff, people will think you are rude/a bot. you’ve probably heard people talk about “cultivating your dash,” and thats because this platform is 100% centered around your dashboard. trending matters less, unfollowing and blocking in order to shape your dash into it’s best form is widely accepted, the majority of the content you’ll find and interact with will be because of your dash, and the only way to put things on your dash is to reblog them. tumblr users are deeply distrustful of algorithms and have largely turned off the “see posts your friends have liked” function (i recommend you also turn of the various algorithms in settings → general settings → dashboard preferences).
so, once you’ve reblogged a post, there’s three ways to add content to it. the tags, replies, and reblogging with text. all of them have different connotations
the tags: an inside voice. originally they were meant for organizing your blog (and they’re still used for this), but they’ve also morphed into a way to share thoughts that aren’t funny/insightful enough for non-followers to be interested in. when in doubt, put your comment in the tags
replies: basically talking to your friends in class. your followers have no way of finding your replies (they don’t pop up on the dash, nobody gets notified except for the original poster) so chances are, only the person who made the post is gonna see your comment. it’s for quick one-offs that you’re okay with other people overhearing, but really is only made for one person. they’re like a public dm
reblog with text: an outside voice. you’re getting up on a stage in town square and entertaining people. make sure it’s funny or insightful— bottom line, add something new to the conversation. you should use this the least
general rules of thumb:
when in doubt, reblog. people will judge you if your blog is only personal posts and you only interact with other content by liking it.
the only things people will judge you for reblogging are personal vent posts. leave a like to give a little virtual hug
if a post is asking about your personality/opinions (i.e: tell me what’s the last tv show you watched, that kind of thing) put it in the tags
also if you see a nice edit, gifset, or art, reblog and say something nice in the tags! it’s that nice sweet spot of common enough that no one will notice but uncommon enough to make the artist’s day
Do you have any headcanons for the PV kids' families finding out their identities?
i’m always playing with ideas for bridgette (if it even happens at all, it would depend whether they give up their powers after saving paris or continue to be its guardians), but oh i’m SO GLAD YOU ASKED about felix :3c
(wake me up) wake me up inside (can’t wake up)
i’ve always had a headcanon that the butterfly/PV gabriel would be able to bypass the “ladybug’s kiss” method and remove felix’s miraculous, despite it usually being stuck firmly to him. something to do with emotional power mixed with the energy of a second miraculous. i imagine this would be the dramatic climax of the PV’s story, either while ladybug is out of commission or about to walk in and take felix’s multitude of secrets the absolute wrong way.
what do you mean this isn’t what you wanted, felix? didn’t you want to be free? have you changed your mind?
I had a lovely time designing this classic jester character for the lovely Yev!
do you have any fanfic recs?
YEAH i do!
And also can people put fanfic recs in the comments of this ask?? So we get even more recs. THANKS!
here's some of mine:
Metamorphosis by @peachcitt - Its been a couple years since they defeated hawkmoth, chat noir is gone. I read this earlier this year and it was SO good, just deliciously dramatic, and it destroyed me. but like in a fun way :)
Tell me something I don't know by @marimbles - it's marichat. do you want to have fun? don't lie to me, I know you do. this one is so funny and sweet
Final Girl by @picayunearts - AU where marinette turns down the ladybug role. this one got to me deeply. listen im unlikely to ever tattoo a quote on my body but if i DID im not saying it WOULDNT be from this fic.
As time goes by, by @redundant-lava - its like if casablanca was even MORE dramatic and romantic and also starred your blorbos.
Under Oath by @eoscenes - Gabriel is unmasked and everyone is dealing with the aftermath. This one takes some of the season 4 drama between ladybug and chat noir and gives it a real play-out, I read this one when it was half-finished and just loved it, I haven't caught up but it looks like its finished so i WILL be going back. join me :)
Happy Anniversary Surprises by @ming85 - short and so so so sweet!!
Double Entendre by speaks, I don't know their tumblr - no intro, just go check it out. man I just love this one, so fun and such a good reveal.
Sting by KryallaOrchid, I don't know their tumblr - Adrien loses the cat miraculous and gets ahold of the bee miraculous so he can keep helping - but ladybug is NOT having it with the new partner. an oldie and a romp!! lovesquare identity shenanigans galore. have some fun.
anything @buggachat has written is good, and i've loved so many of @coffeebananas works, so go browse both of those authors.
A bunch of others but i cant list them all so im leaving off here!! Tell your favs in the comments. whats good out there?
I've had this thought for a while but only just realized I have a tumblr now so I can actually get that thought to reach ppl who'll share my level of madness.
So Sonic yeah? Pretty much the entire main cast are all anthropomorphic animals, excluding Eggman and his family tree. Across adaptations of Sonic, there's not a lot of consistency on what the general population outside of Sonic and the Gang are composed of. In shows like Boom, Prime, and the IDW comics, it's almost entirely animals, and Eggman's the odd one out:
But in other versions, where there are humans, Eggman still sticks out like a sore thumb:
It's also worth noting that in some Sonic games, there are regular, non-anthropomorphic animals in addition to anthropomorphic versions
(Yes, Vector is a crocodile not an alligator, but they're close enough taxonomically to be significant. You can't convince me that the difference between alligators and crocodiles in this universe is that one swims in freshwater and the other has bills to pay)
So here's my theory: there's cartoonish, anthropomorphic versions and realistic, non-anthropomorphic versions of the animals, right? So why wouldn't this extend to humans? After all, they're mammals just like hedgehogs and foxes are. AND THAT'S WHAT EGGMAN IS. He's an anthropomorphic animal like Sonic, it just happens to be that the animal he's based on is a human.
Thank you
in the ever first bible, there’s one particular difference regarding kwamis that stands out.
it’s the fact that kwamis only grant wishes of the user.
those that hide behind anonymity tend to do evil as their identities are no longer tied to their actions. this is a well known fact which has been proven many times in the real world. it’s also known that those in power, or have power, tend to fall into corruption.
in early miraculous, kwamis basically do that. they give users power, and it is up to the user themselves to choose what they can use this power for. good? or evil? is the question. and what defines good/ evil? kwamis are essentially the catalysts in bringing out one’s own morality, forcing them to confront it face to face and question themselves: what do i do?
it presents moral dilemmas and the complexity behind morality, when paired with anonymity and power. unlike current miraculous ladybug in which everything is more black and white.
for example, a person might start out wishing to right the wrongs of their past, giving them the ability to time travel. but in trying to change the past, they alter the future for the worse. are they good? or are they bad? both? or neither?
in another example, a person might start out wishing to be strong so that they can stand up against bullies. but upon receiving super strength, they become corrupted and become the tormentor, what they used to fear.
in a last example, a person might also start out wishing bitterly to make everyone in the world suffer like they have, in poverty, hence granting them the ability to manipulate the weather so that crops will dry, and people would suffer. however, they realise the consequences of their actions and instead use them for good.
ladybug isn’t being a hero because she’s “destined” and “chosen” to be one. ladybug is a hero because she wants to use her powers to help others. similarly, chat noir is a hero, despite having powers of destruction and starting out only having powers for freedom, because he ends up wanting to do things for the greater good.
their justice aligned moral compass overcomes the temptation of abuse that their power comes with. the fact they can easily fall into corruption yet they don’t is what makes them respectable heroes because their actions aren’t influenced by anything except themselves and what they believe in.
i think this makes for a far greater lesson than whatever miraculous is doing right now.
“feeling emotions, both negative and positive, is perfectly fine, but it’s what you do with those emotions that is most important.” vs “don’t feel negative emotions or else you’ll hurt people around you!!!” (is basically what i get from miraculous ladybug)
Pierre LaRue/The Mime
Pierre LaRue used to be a normal mime performer and leading actor of the show ‘The Man on the Road’, often coming up with his own skits. However, after a jealous co-worker accused him of stealing ideas and plagiarism, Pierre was blacklisted and banned from performing at theaters in Paris. Falling on hard times, he resorted to petty crimes like theft to survive. After being caught by the police and put in custody, he was bailed out by the man who would become his new employer, Gabriel Agreste.
Sensing Pierre’s despair and rage towards those who wronged him, Gabriel gave him a Chrysalis that would allow him to metamorphose into The Mime, granting him special powers. These powers allow him to turn everything he mimes into reality, with his preferred weapon being a hammer. The Mime is ruthless and pragmatic in combat, often using all kinds of tricks to win the battle or complete his mission. He is a cold, no-nonsense and cunning villain who never talks and highly respects Gabriel, acting as his right-hand man.
The Mime tends to team up with Monsieur Pigeon and in tag battles against Ladybug and Chat Noir, he usually targets Ladybug, as her combat skills, range of weapons and creativity match his own.
Xavier Ramier/Monsieur Pigeon
Xavier Ramier is an ornithologist who believes pigeons are the smartest and will go berserk if anyone attempts to harm his favorite birds. His outbursts, experiments and the occasional temper tantrum-like protest against cruelty towards pigeons alienated him from his fellow colleagues to the point of being kicked out of the ornithologist community. His science papers shredded and his reputation ruined, Xavier dedicated himself to finding a way to control pigeons and even weaponize them.
After another of his attempts to convince the science community of the validity of his research failed, he was approached by Gabriel Agreste, who took interest in his ideas and gave him a Chrysalis that would allow him to metamorphose into Monsieur Pigeon, granting him special powers. These powers involve him being able to control all the pigeons of Paris at will, communicate with them and use them as living weapons. In contrast to The Mime, Monsieur Pigeon is very talkative, childish and quirky, referring to the pigeons as his ‘Lovelies’. Despite his eccentric personality, he is quite smart.
Monsieur Pigeon tends to team up with The Mime and in tag battles against Ladybug and Chat Noir, he usually targets Chat Noir, due to his belief that cats are birds’ natural enemies and therefore need to be eliminated, with Chat Noir’s long range attacks and agility allowing him to match Monsieur Pigeon in combat.
something you all need to understand about hogwarts legacy is that jkr does NOT care if you hate-play this game and she does NOT care if you disagree with her views. she DOES care that you are giving her money and she DOES care that you are keeping her one valuable ip alive. as far as she or anyone else is concerned, her fans (and customers) will be seated on her side of the court, whether they like it or not.
