diluc loves you. 

those three words are not ones he says as often as he should, at least in his eyes but you never seem to mind. the words didn’t tumble from his lips like a sweet, lovely melody often but his actions told you of his hearts devotion to you. even if not spoken out loud, those special words, words that don’t even feel like they are enough to describe how he feels about you- i love you- pass through his mind many times throughout the day.

♡ in the early morning, before the sun rises, as he prepares for the day quietly so as to not disturb your sleep. the soft movement of your deep, sleepy breaths catching his eye more than a few times. happiness fills his heart seeing how peaceful you are in his bed, like nothing in this world could harm you- and he tries his hardest to see that through, always. his heart stalls when he sits on the end of his side of the bed to put on his boots and feels your body shift closer to his, as if you were pulled in like a magnet. 

still asleep, your hand slides across the covers in search of him, fingers curling around his own once your hand finally finds him. so soft, he thinks as he gently he squeezes your hand, twisting to get a better look at your visage. he is so enamored by you and lets his heart lead his actions when he gingerly moves the stray hairs from your face, allowing the pads of his fingers to brush against your skin, behind your ear and down your neck, your pulse steadily beating under his finger tips. his lips touch your cheek so tenderly and for the first time today those words filled his heart with warmth strong enough to turn his pearl-like skin pink. i love you.

♡ during the busy day when the smell of your perfume lingers in his study and the bright colors of the fruit you’ve left for him catch his eye. he must have just barely missed you but it’s no matter. knowing you were here, thinking of him, caring for him, is enough to give him the little boost he needs to get through the paperwork stacked high on his desk. i love you and how lucky i feel to be loved by you.. your love lingers on his lips in the form of sweet fruit juice.

♡ when the peak heat of the day is almost over, and he’s walked from the study, to the cellar and back again or to any other task needing his attention throughout the day countless times. the open window makes it easy for your giggles to travel from the courtyard, where you’ve been tied up in a book for the past several hours, to him and wrap around him like rays of sunlight after a long and lonely winter. he’s been so busy all day and even now he’s on his way to deal with another issue but that hasn’t and doesn’t stop him from slowing his steps as he passes by the open window to get a glimpse of your unmistakable figure sipping on a cup of tea while you enjoy your book. 

as if you knew he was there, could feel his heart calling your name, you turn towards the window and smile brightly when your eyes meet, making his heart and his footsteps stop completely. he only wishes he could be closer, admiring the color the sun brings out in your eyes or taking in the scent of your shampoo as you pull him close. when conor calls his name he knows he’ll have to settle for a simple return of your smile with one of his own, leaving you blushing and your book forgotten as your thoughts begin to drift to the most lovely shade of red and smell of cedar and wine. 

that doesn’t stop him from looking back more than once, those words yet again passing through his mind even as he gets too far away to see you, i love you.

there's still work to be done, papers to be reviewed and signed, wine that needs quality checking, dark knight hero duties to attend to but as the sun begins to set, the sky above turning orange and blue, he finds himself leaving it behind in search of you. 

his footsteps are light down the stone steps leading into the vineyard. he had a feeling you would be out here and when he saw you amongst the grapes he didn’t waste a moment closing the distance between you. you’d been close all day, always a short walk away but it wasn’t enough, it was never enough and sometimes he had to give into his heart's wishes. he watches with a smile as you reach into the vines and pull out a plump grape, popping it into your mouth. the content smile on your lips and the juice caught on the edge of your lips is adorable, what he wouldn’t do to ensure you could always be this happy. with a playful smile, that only you get the pleasure of seeing, he can’t help but tease you.

“stealing now, are we?”

his voice causes you to jump, apparently you hadn’t heard him coming but any apologies he had are forgotten in the wind with one look at your guilty smile and enchanting eyes. before you can reply he steps closer to you, so close you can feel the heat he radiates, and reaches for your face. in gentle motions he moves the stray hairs behind your ear before his thumb brushes against your lips, the leather of his gloves collecting the grape juice on your lips. 

it’s impossible to think straight with him so close, with his gentle touch against you and his scent invading your senses. no matter how long you’ve been with him you weren’t sure you would ever get used to melting whenever he was close. you can only hum and lean into his touch and he welcomes it completely, soaking in every moment that he can. 

you look so beautiful and diluc feels his heart beating right out of his chest as he gets lost in your eyes. he would never understand what he did to deserve you but he could now never imagine a life without you. forever and always he wanted you by his side, he wanted you to hold his heart and keep yours safe in return. he loves you, more than anything in the world and celestia, he loves you. 

fingers brushing against your cheek, his ruby eyes soft and the smile tugging at his lips makes his words come out almost shyly. “have i told you today that i love you?” as if you weren’t weak in the knees already under his undivided attention, his loving stare and words said so sweetly and honestly, you’re left speechless and a blushing mess from your cheeks to your ears and clinging onto him for support.

“‘luc.. i love you..” you reply breathlessly. if you had any more breath to steal, he stole it with his lips as he pulled you deeper into the grape vines to show you more of his love.

Just a simple something I had in mind for a Genshin otome game... I have 0 attention span, 0 time, and 0 knowledge to write and build a full-fledged 3D game with intricate stories, plot, and mechanics. This is just a simple visual novel with a streamlined plot and partial voices. You should be able to complete everything in like... 30 minutes long in total. Might be less, even.

Open the game, and you’ll find that it’s pretty straightforward. Customize your profile, select your love interest, then start the game.

There are no wrong answers and the love interest can be changed anytime (just go back to main menu and select the character’s picture on the right side).

This is a super casual project.

Scripts are not proofread. Probably lots of grammar mistakes.

Novel format without narration (full dialogs).

There are no actual sprites, just official art and something akin to a speech bubble to cater to the characters’ changes in ‘expression’.

There are voices, but only partial - mostly just grunts, chuckles, kisses, and stuff. I’m using JP voices EXCEPT for Itto because Max Mittelman is a gem. No, I will not add other languages' voice versions.

Sound cues and voices are quite important for this game so I recommend using headphones.

Depending on when you open the game (morning, afternoon, nighttime, midnight), your currently selected love interest might greet you differently.

To reiterate, there are no wrong answers.

Selecting all talk/act options for a character will unlock a small event where they'll give you unique gifts.

I lowkey have so many ideas on how to expand on this in terms of gameplay and options but let’s be real here it probably won’t happen lol why can’t my brain be this creative when it comes to work

01 || HER ARRIVAL . ━ CHAPTER ONE

"HUHU... YOUR EXPRESSIONS ARE PRICELESS." you playfully snorted, very much satisfied with their reactions. My, their eyes were popping out of their sockets from the shock! Perhaps you can request for the image to be painted to jab at them a little. Hmm...

"But, yes... the Little One is my Beloved Son." you continued, ushering the small boy to come closer to you. At your gesture, the boy's eyes sparkled brighter than the stars in the night sky. The boy quickly jumped to his feet and scrambled beside you. He rubbed his chubby cheek against the silk of your gown and fisted small amounts of the fabric.

You fondly caressed his cheek watching him press himself into your palm for more of your loving. Paimon on the hand watched the exchange with a pouty face. How dare that tiny thing mooch off your affection for her!? She wanted your motherly advances for herself! Now, she had to share!? She was never one to do that!

She huffed angrily stomping her foot in the air. She zoomed over to your available arm and clung to you. After nuzzling her face onto your arm for a few seconds, she pettily glared at the boy who smugly smirked in return without you noticing. Paimon gasped in the offense.

You wiggled your eyebrows. You said nothing, but you can more than sense the dark aura that emits from the two babies.

"Children, children." you patted their heads, momentarily stopping them from their heated glare match. "There's no need for such hostility. My affection is infinite for both of you," you reassured them.

The two babies were still unsatisfied, but who were they to doubt your words? They sent each other one last glare before resuming their ministrations much to your amusement. 

AETHER STOOD IN THE background awestruck. To be able to pacify the babbling Emergency Food while paying attention to your son was the work of a God. Your movements were elegant and flawless...! Assign him the same task and he will struggle halfway in.

But there was something else that completely enticed him. It was your loving manner you spoke to them, despite how irritating their bickering was. Patient and slow-to-anger... How admirable and enduring. 

He wonders... will you treat him in such a manner too if he asked kindly? Blood rushed to his cheeks. Aah... he got carried away with his thoughts! To crave affection from a divine being... is indecent! But would you mind? You didn't care when Paimon crashed herself onto you. However, she is a child... he is not. Still...

He coughed, clearing his throat when he felt his cheeks burn hotter. Your ears twitched at the noise prompting you to look at the blonde who you may or may not have forgotten was there. Doing so, your eyes widened in surprise at the poor boy whose face was redder than a strawberry. You will admit, you were very tempted to fluster the boy more. But the lad looked like he was on the brink of fainting.

Feeling your gaze burn into his skin, he abruptly turned his head. "Your GraCE-!" he cussed mentally at the voice crack. "I apologize for interrupting your moment... but I do believe we have places to return to...!"

You blinked once, twice, thrice. "Oh dear, it seems that detail has already slipped my mind." You sighed. "The first place we'll be stopping by is The City of Freedom, is it not? Hmph~ I must admit I feel a tad bit excited for the trip. However, that bard..." you trailed off sweatdropping.

Aether stared, waiting for you to continue.

"...Hm? Are you waiting for something else to be said...? Huhu. I was finished with my dialogue."

His cheeks lit up once more. "Ah...! My mistake." He nervously chuckled, staring at his traveling companion playfight with your son.

"So... shall we leave, Your Grace?"

"Why yes, of course... You two, stop that - "

"WE'VE BEEN AWAITING YOUR ARRIVAL, YOUR GRACE/ IT'S AN HONOR TO MEET YOU, YOUR GRACE, FINALLY." A male and a woman spoke in sync. In front of you, who stood tall and proud, the duo was respectfully knelt on the ground, faces staring downwards, not daring to look you in the eye. It was a form of respect for your title, acknowledging you as their Beloved Creator. In addition, looking at The Creator without permission from Her Holiness was a heavy crime, only punishable by death. They shall not test your patience.

Your eyes flickered between the two individuals before a look of recognition spread across your face. How could you forget so easily? These two were one of the few that you chose for your, 'Godly Possession.' The ones you loved and cared for and 'built'. You are beginning to think the period you slept for also affected your memory...

Firstly, the male. Long deep blue hair that was carelessly tossed into a ponytail on his left side, an eyepatch, a periwinkle eye, tall, beautiful tanned skin... and a cunning persona infused with seduction... his entire being screamed 'attractive'...

Secondly, the female. Aura, gentle and soft... Yet, powerful and courageous. Blonde hair in a neat ponytail, and lovely sky-blue eyes. Traits of a knight, destined to be a leader. How admirable...

"JEAN GUNNIHILDR, ACTING GRAND MASTER, AND KAEYA ALBERICH, CALVARY CAPTAIN. You may rise from your kneeling state. The same goes for you as well... the Knights accompanying these two." You smiled, very much pleased. They all smiled at your command, quickly regaining their footing.

As they took the time to admire you in all your glory, they felt the breaths immediately lodge inside their throats. The way you smiled at lowly people with such affection and gentleness, a feeling of warmth and safety enveloped over them, a sense of power and being guided. There was no doubt, you were truly Her Grace, them privileged enough to witness your presence in their lifetime.

Smiling shyly, Jean bowed one more time before slowly walking closer to you. "Your grace... It is relieving to see that you are alive and doing well." She laughed softly. "As you commanded, we followed your instructions to ensure the three-day festival dedicated to you will be nothing less than a success. Please," she took a step back, bowing to you again. "Welcome yourself to our city, Mondstadt.

You hummed in approval at the degree of respect you earned from your beloved creation.

"Well, aren't you the polite one, my dear? I was more so expecting your Archon to be the one greeting me instead... Then again, this is him we are speaking about." you chuckled, watching the beautiful blonde's composure completely break down into one of flustered bashfulness.

"A-Ah-! W-Well... Your Gra-!"

Your eyebrows raised while you smirked.

"Oh my, to fall in such state in front of, Her Grace." Kaeya feigned fake sympathy, patting Jean on the shoulder. "Let help you out, that's what friends are for, right~?" He smirked before strolling closer to you. "... From what I can decipher, My Grace, I believe what The Acting Grand Master is trying to explain is that, how can we dare to no shower you in meaningful praises, Your Grace? As someone who is divine, as breathtaking and holy as you, it will be quite the challenge to do otherwise." He chuckled, grasping your hand and pressing a light kiss to the back of your palm, ignoring how Jean's exasperated glare burned into his sun-kissed back.

You decided to humor him a little. "Quite a sharp tongue you own, Sir Kaeya. I wonder... how many fell under your command of that gift of yours?" You chirped, cupping your cheek.

"Though..." you leaned closer to him. Kaeya felt cold shivers travel through his spine when your soft, plump lips brushed against the flesh of his earlobe. "I must admit, that trait of yours... makes the day all the more exciting~" you sighed.

You cleared your throat as you returned to your straight posture, redirecting to the two children who were playing a one-sided game of tag.

Kaeya also stood up slowly. Anyone who walked by, they cannot miss the bright red that bloomed upon his cheeks. The way you willingly closed the distance between you two, the way he remembered how light and soft your kiss was on his ear... Such intimacy is what he could only fantasize in his dreams! And to have it happen to him this day... Why... Why must you seduce him like this...!? It makes him tingle deep down..

Eventually, he snapped out of his stupor, loudly coughing into his fist to conceal the current embarrassment he felt.

"..." He mumbled incoherent words under his breath.

"Hehe~! Sir Kaeya is so red!!!" Paimon laughed, pointing a chubby finger at the blue-haired male to which he glared at.

Aether gave a hard stare at the two, mainly at the Calvary Captain. He felt it. He felt how horror bubbled inside him when you leaned closer to the tall male. He felt how anger burned in his veins when he watched how the Captain carelessly kissed your fingers. His fingers trembled and shook, aching for his touch to feel the familiar cool sensation that belonged to the handle of his blade.

Ah...? Why was he acting like this? He had no right to feel this way... He just met you. On top of that, you had the authority to interact with anyone you pleased. He must remember his place, the one beneath you.

He clenched his fists. That still didn't fit right with him.

"You're one to talk, Paimon. You were red in the face if Our Grace so much looked away from you for more than two seconds." Aether pettily sassed back.

"Hey!!! Leave Paimon alone!"

Aether rolled his eyes, completely exhausted and unable to put up with Paimon's whining. "Whatever you say, Emergency Food."

"How many times does Paimon have to repeat herself!? Paimon is NOT Emergency Food!!!"

AETHER TWIRLED A STRAND of his untied braid around his index as he buried deeper in his thoughts, all while enjoying the comforts of your bed that was adorned in the finest silks.

He. Felt. So. Bitter. No matter how desperately he tried to rid of that haunting image that mercilessly replayed constantly in his mind, it stubbornly stuck to him like permanent ink. It was infuriating...

You side-eyed Aether from where you sat, in front of a grand mirror. Maids of High Class in Mondstadt were surrounding you, tending to your delicate hair... sticking in expensive pins and beautiful stones to glammer you up for the Ceremony you will attend.

"...Erk...!" you jumped when one of the maids harshly tugged on your hair with a comb to undo that stupid knot.

The maid also jumped in surprise and a slight tinge of fear. "Oh...! I'm sorry, Your Grace...! This knot was just not cooperating with me..." she trailed off to glare at the said knot.

You chuckled and shook your head causing the maid to relax. "Oh, it's fine, my dear. I was just taken a bit by surprise."

The maid smiled.

"Speaking of which..." you glanced at Aether again. "May I be left alone for a moment? I have something to discuss with the Traveller."

The maids didn't try pry into your business, they simply bowed and complied with your wish. "As you command, Your Grace."

"AETHER." 

The male blinked in confusion when the bed dipped beside him. He looked up at you with wide eyes, maybe surprised that you wanted to speak with him, and he was in awe when you gave him that loving smile that makes his heart skip a beat.

"My Dear Aether."

His cheeks warmed when your fingers tenderly rubbed his cheeks.

"Why are you so upset?"

Oh. The light in his eyes dimmed for a moment.

"I sense the Envy and Wrath lurking in you, My Dear. Do tell me, why is that so?" You hummed as your gaze grew gentler.

Aether pursed his lips tightly. Hearing the question rolling of your tongue, he suddenly felt silly of himself. Despite how his brain screamed at him to remain silent, he dare not hide anything from you, after all the glorious things you have done for him.

"Do you..." His eyes revealed the pain he felt emotionally. "...Do you love me, Your Grace?"

There. He said it. His grip on his hair visibly tightened.

Your eyes, listening to his question, widened in shock. Is this how he truly felt? Had you not made it clear how deeply you cherished him?

You clicked your tongue, taking him into an embrace, pressing his head against your chest. Aether felt his heart rate quicken right as you pressed your face on the top of his head, pressing light kisses.

"How could I not, Aether, dear? Even though you may not consider so, you have done do much for in my absence, caring for my people while I was asleep. Just as I have aided you in tremendous ways, you selflessly done the same for me. We've gotten a long way together." You murmured.

"So please," you buried your face deeper in his golden hair. "Never doubt my affection for you."

Aether finally smiled in content, sighing and nuzzling his face in your chest.

sumeru has straight up cyberpunk plotline tho, just coquettishly covered up in light fantasy veil. And not just because it has actual visors with internet access, but because Akasha system works like current search engines, but taken to the extreme.

like it’s no secret that google collects your data and censors and manipulates the search results based on that, but here they said “what if google had direct access to your brain tho?? and didn’t just sell collected info to advertisers, but also without your knowledge used your brainpower during sleep to fucking mine bitcoin? bc like what could you do to stop it, when the society demands you to use it?” 

Akademiya is a very straightforward stand in for corporations - monopolistic force that de facto holds all the power in the country and ignores\manipulates the nominal leader (Kusanali). Ppl want to get into Akademiya bc that where all the power is cultivated, but from the researchers we meet we can see that it’s a cesspool of intrigues, with grueling demands where ppl have to abandon the themes they actually want to study bc they don’t get the funding, and often forced into military research bc of that. One woman literally ran away to the desert and paid the bandits to keep her locked in a cage bc thats better than Akademiya career fucking her over. But if you try to get away with research that is deemed a secret, they will send police enforcers to drag you back

the theme of broken and eaten dreams is also surprisingly coherent and poignant so far. We have many quests emphasizing how ppl had to gave up on their dreams and settle for career they didn’t want bc they needed to survive, and then in the Archon quests we learn that the adults don’t dream, bc their dreams are literally stolen and used by the Akademiya. They legit said that the broken dreams are not a coincidence of growing up, the system uses them as a fuel to keep up the matrix and tells you it’s your fault you couldn’t reach them
